The game show in Rex's head! (Soaps.com)
Welcome to Amy's
"One Life in a Week!" (Sept. 29-Oct. 3)

This week on One Life to Live started out with a bang - literally! We were able to witness the results of Brody's lingering guilt from the war, see an old friend arrive back in Llanview, and cheer on Rex during a very wild and wacky game show! Heck, you can't say that happens everyday in Llanview! I hope you enjoy my thoughts this week, and I welcome any agreement - or disagreement - in the form of your comments below!

Shooting on Llantano Mountain!

"Please tell me he's alive!" Gigi cried to Bo… Llantano Mountain hasn't seen that much excitement since - I don't remember when! Mark Lawson's (Brody) performance is to be commended, as so many of our men and women are suffering from this very real posttraumatic stress disorder. With that being said, back to Llanview… We had a lot of people very upset with Shane this week, but in the boy's defense, this kid has been through so much, and I'm sure he realizes that he can get away with his smart mouth comments at this point. Or maybe it's not intentional at all, maybe Shane's actions are a result of growing up his whole life without a father - just to have him snatched away after finally being reunited with who he was told was his dad? I tend to go with the latter explanation.

Rex is lost in his own mind… Let's play "Who Wants to Be Shane Morasco's Father?"

"Can I get a help-line here?" Rex asks Colin in confusion… What a trip this was! While many of you weren't too fond of this little inner storyline twist, I loved it! It was so nice to see Colin and Jen again and to watch how Rex's answers coincided with his condition on the operating table. However, what really had me rolling was the options of who could be Rex's father! The obvious one being Mitch, but Snoop… David Vickers the dog… RJ? In the end, I knew love would conquer all with Rex waking up, but to find Adriana at the end of his bed, who is now stepping in to play the dutiful wife… Well, I guess you can tell where I want this storyline to go - Rex, Gigi and Shane riding off into the sunset with Roxy clamoring behind, "Wait for me!" On a personal note, I adore Melissa Fumero (Adriana) and wish she wasn't leaving the show.

Gigi finally tells Shane the truth!

"Brody is not your father. Your honest to God father is Rex," Gigi says, stopping Shane in his tracks… Again, yes, Shane has had quite the potty mouth this week, but I feel for this boy and all he's been through in such a short amount of time. One thing I can say about his little chat with his mom, regarding his parentage, I finally saw that protectiveness and love in Shane's eye - for Gigi - as he watched her cry in heartache. And to see Bo have a heart-to-heart with Shane, when in turn he was reliving his own ordeal with Matthew, was very touching!

One of my all-time favorite mobsters! (Soaps.com)
Welcome back Jackie McNaughton!

"What do you want me to do, hide her?" Jackie asks, in regards to Langston, as Dorian leans in close and whispers, "Actually I was hoping you could come up with a more permanent solution..." I loved seeing the show bring back the popular mobster, Jackie McNaughton, who is still such a ruggedly handsome guy, even after all these years! Although it worked well for the storyline, to have Dorian doing the summonsing, I would have preferred for him to get a call from Viki, as Jackie always had a special respect for her - due to Ben.

Tess hits Natalie where it hurts!

"But he's not, because of your Aunt Natalie. Say goodnight, Aunt Natalie," Tess talks to Bree about Nash never coming back to them… Though I almost thought that Jessica was back, while Tess was reading Bree a bedtime story, I have two thoughts on this… First, I was glad that Jessica wasn't back, as I want her to return in a more dramatic way. Yes, I know, I'm always about the drama! Second, I was happy to see some real sincere emotions come from Tess - both in her interactions with Bree and for the loss of Nash, which I'm still reeling from myself! However, as to who is trying to overcome the death of Nash the most, Jess or Tess, you be the judge, as I've included a video of Nash's Death in the News Room. Be sure to grab some tissues because it wasn't any easier watching this now compared to when it first aired.

Todd catches Marty surfing the web!

Todd appears and asks, "Hey, what are you doing? What are you looking at?" to which Marty replies, "My rapists…" I knew it was too good to be true to have Marty come across the fact that Todd was one of her rapists, and I had no doubt that Todd would manage to pull Marty's attention from the Internet and back to this make-believe idea of a new life that he is promising they'll have!

We can't end the week without giving props to Roxy for this week's funniest quote... "He kind of looks like a robot, with tubes and wires," Roxy tells Shane in an attempt to make him feel more comfortable about visiting Rex!

Thanks again for stopping by this week to read my thoughts. Be sure to leave your own below, as well, as I'm always curious about what others are thinking in regards to the storylines. Before I ask for you to vote in this week's poll, here are the results of last week's - and who you all thought was to blame for Brody's breakdown behavior… 25 said Brody himself, 77 blamed the effects from the war, 16 thought Gigi's ongoing lie, and 10 voted his love for Shane.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back here on Monday where we'll take on Llanview together!
