The game show in Rex's head! (Soaps.com)
Welcome to Amy's
"One Life in a Week!" (Sept. 29-Oct. 3)

This week on One Life to Live started out with a bang - literally! We were able to witness the results of Brody's lingering guilt from the war, see an old friend arrive back in Llanview, and cheer on Rex during a very wild and wacky game show! Heck, you can't say that happens everyday in Llanview! I hope you enjoy my thoughts this week, and I welcome any agreement - or disagreement - in the form of your comments below!

Shooting on Llantano Mountain!

"Please tell me he's alive!" Gigi cried to Bo… Llantano Mountain hasn't seen that much excitement since - I don't remember when! Mark Lawson's (Brody) performance is to be commended, as so many of our men and women are suffering from this very real posttraumatic stress disorder. With that being said, back to Llanview… We had a lot of people very upset with Shane this week, but in the boy's defense, this kid has been through so much, and I'm sure he realizes that he can get away with his smart mouth comments at this point. Or maybe it's not intentional at all, maybe Shane's actions are a result of growing up his whole life without a father - just to have him snatched away after finally being reunited with who he was told was his dad? I tend to go with the latter explanation.

Rex is lost in his own mind… Let's play "Who Wants to Be Shane Morasco's Father?"

"Can I get a help-line here?" Rex asks Colin in confusion… What a trip this was! While many of you weren't too fond of this little inner storyline twist, I loved it! It was so nice to see Colin and Jen again and to watch how Rex's answers coincided with his condition on the operating table. However, what really had me rolling was the options of who could be Rex's father! The obvious one being Mitch, but Snoop… David Vickers the dog… RJ? In the end, I knew love would conquer all with Rex waking up, but to find Adriana at the end of his bed, who is now stepping in to play the dutiful wife… Well, I guess you can tell where I want this storyline to go - Rex, Gigi and Shane riding off into the sunset with Roxy clamoring behind, "Wait for me!" On a personal note, I adore Melissa Fumero (Adriana) and wish she wasn't leaving the show.

Gigi finally tells Shane the truth!

"Brody is not your father. Your honest to God father is Rex," Gigi says, stopping Shane in his tracks… Again, yes, Shane has had quite the potty mouth this week, but I feel for this boy and all he's been through in such a short amount of time. One thing I can say about his little chat with his mom, regarding his parentage, I finally saw that protectiveness and love in Shane's eye - for Gigi - as he watched her cry in heartache. And to see Bo have a heart-to-heart with Shane, when in turn he was reliving his own ordeal with Matthew, was very touching!

One of my all-time favorite mobsters! (Soaps.com)
Welcome back Jackie McNaughton!

"What do you want me to do, hide her?" Jackie asks, in regards to Langston, as Dorian leans in close and whispers, "Actually I was hoping you could come up with a more permanent solution..." I loved seeing the show bring back the popular mobster, Jackie McNaughton, who is still such a ruggedly handsome guy, even after all these years! Although it worked well for the storyline, to have Dorian doing the summonsing, I would have preferred for him to get a call from Viki, as Jackie always had a special respect for her - due to Ben.

Tess hits Natalie where it hurts!

"But he's not, because of your Aunt Natalie. Say goodnight, Aunt Natalie," Tess talks to Bree about Nash never coming back to them… Though I almost thought that Jessica was back, while Tess was reading Bree a bedtime story, I have two thoughts on this… First, I was glad that Jessica wasn't back, as I want her to return in a more dramatic way. Yes, I know, I'm always about the drama! Second, I was happy to see some real sincere emotions come from Tess - both in her interactions with Bree and for the loss of Nash, which I'm still reeling from myself! However, as to who is trying to overcome the death of Nash the most, Jess or Tess, you be the judge, as I've included a video of Nash's Death in the News Room. Be sure to grab some tissues because it wasn't any easier watching this now compared to when it first aired.

Todd catches Marty surfing the web!

Todd appears and asks, "Hey, what are you doing? What are you looking at?" to which Marty replies, "My rapists…" I knew it was too good to be true to have Marty come across the fact that Todd was one of her rapists, and I had no doubt that Todd would manage to pull Marty's attention from the Internet and back to this make-believe idea of a new life that he is promising they'll have!

We can't end the week without giving props to Roxy for this week's funniest quote... "He kind of looks like a robot, with tubes and wires," Roxy tells Shane in an attempt to make him feel more comfortable about visiting Rex!

Thanks again for stopping by this week to read my thoughts. Be sure to leave your own below, as well, as I'm always curious about what others are thinking in regards to the storylines. Before I ask for you to vote in this week's poll, here are the results of last week's - and who you all thought was to blame for Brody's breakdown behavior… 25 said Brody himself, 77 blamed the effects from the war, 16 thought Gigi's ongoing lie, and 10 voted his love for Shane.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back here on Monday where we'll take on Llanview together!

Adriana looks very beautiful. i think adriana is not goddess who forgives the woman(gigi) that snates her husband. well come back Adriana. the story is interesting only when she is on the show.

This week was pretty good. I couldn't stand the Llantano Mountain scenes though. I FF through all of those scenes.

I am so happy that Gigi finally told Shane the truth, it has only been 10 years!LOL I just wish that Shane would stop being such a brat. He is turning into a Brody Jr.!

I think that the gameshow was very fun! It was so great to see Jen again, but I am not/never was a fan of Colin. I did like his brother Troy though!

It is great having Adriana back! I love her character, just not with Rex. I wish that Adriana would stay and get a whole new love interest and storyline. She is a very exciting character!

This Jackie guy seems like he could be a very interesting character. I don't remember him, so it is hard for me to say how I feel about him right now.

As I have said in the past, Tess is my 2nd favorite character right next to Margaret. I really like her. I would like to see her show more emotion though. All we have seen so far has been anger, anger, and more anger. We have seen some sadness, but it just doesn't seem like enough. I would like to see Tess cry more, and talk to and play with Bree more. I would really love to see Tess telling Bree a whole bunch of stories about Nash. I think that would be very touching! I want the "old", more complex Tess back. These writers are trying to make us believe that Tess is a pure villain, but that is not who she is at all!

I am enjoying every second on the Tarty storyline. I am a huge fan of the couple and hope that their relationship is further explored!

Well, I think this is all I have to say for now. Once again, a really great article Amy! Keep up the amazing work!

Hey Amy ~~~~ Way to go! I couldn't find anything in your column to disagree with! I also agree w/ you regarding Shane's character. I read the comments from fans who thought he was a Brat, and needed his butt beat for talking the way he did to adults. I didn't dispute their comments. That's the 'wonder' of having our wonderful site to come to and give our opinions of characters and s/l's. I saw Shane as a very confused 10 year old boy. Gigi had raised him by herself. His only father was the stories Gigi had told him about a dead hero! Suddenly, the dead hero is alive and wants to be his father! That in itself had to be a hard thing to grasp for a 10 year olds young mind! But then, he's being pulled back and forth like a 'tug of war' between his Mom, Brody and Rex! I didn't blame him for not believing his Mom when she told him Rex was his real father. I didn't blame him for acting out the way he did! So, I'm not sure what the other fans were expecting! This 10 year olds world has been rocked to the core. In less than 6 months he's gone from not having a father to having 2 fathers! I too want Rex,Gigi and Shane to be a family. I see a long drawn out process ahead of them! Have a great week ahead, and we'll talk to you next Friday! Love Ya's, Susie

I think they brought back Jackie Mc. because he is Rex's father. I had actually forgot about him until he showed up to help Dorian. Please DO NOT let it be Mitch Lawrence. We have put up with that creepy person too many times already. It was too good to be true to have it be Bo.
I am ready for Adriano to be gone for good. I never liked her. And how long are we expected to put up with this silly Tess storyline? Maybe Viki will figure it out when she returns??? I just think most of the time these writers are paid WAY TOO MUCH for the junk they come up with.

ROFLMAO I was hoping David Vickers was Rex's dad. That could be interesting. (of course Bo is my first choice though). They need to get Vickers back permentally. He is a fun guy, keeps things interesting.
I am in a bind LOL I started working 2ndshift so I get to see maybe 15 minutes of the show. The nighttime version comes on while I am at work.It comes on again at like 2am..usually fall asleep after the same 15 minutes. GRRRRR

I think that David Vickers will be Rex's father. And Bo will be Rex's grandfather since Rex slept with David's mother as Bo in 1968. Did anyone follow?

Twinmommy...I follow.LOL. That was not at all interesting. I'm also sad that I missed this game show episode thing that came on! Can anyone tell me when? Anywho... I think adriana is a very boring character. I use to like her until she started acting like a spoiled rich girl. If rex doesn't love her anymore. Then she should just move on. There's nothing she can do about it. With the rex, gigi, and shane situation. I understand that shane is going through a lot having two father figures show up in his life, but I still think there's a limit. Forget spoiled brat. He's taking it to the next level. Oh, and can anyone tell me when this jackie character was in the show..? I see that Cris has a lot on his hands. I hope his new love interest isn't Ray's ex. Does anyone else see how the characters in the show act like its ok for them to share each other. Cris, and Jess/Tess... Cris, and Natie... Cris, and Sarah.. I mean... eeeewww. But that's besides the point. Lol
