Wednesday, June 18 2008

Snoop and Bo (Soaps.com)
It’s almost been two months since we last saw Award Winning rapper Snoop Dogg rock One Life to Live’s Ultra-Violet. For those fans who couldn’t get enough of his guest appearance, we have a surprise for you!

On Friday, July 4, 2008, due to the holiday, regular programming will be pre-empted and an encore airing of the May 9, 2008 episode will take its place! If you missed the excitement, but don’t want to miss any of the 4th of July festivities, you’ll want to set your DVRs because it was a fabulous episode! Not only did Snoop perform two of his hit singles off of his new CD "Ego Trippin'," he also interacted with many of the residents of Llanview!

Here’s a sneak peek taken from the May 9, 2008 Daily Update:

On stage at Ultra Violet, Snoop rocks the house with his new hit “Sexual Seduction” while Adriana, Jessica, Sarah and Layla dance with him! After Snoop’s performance, Rex apologizes to “Mr. Dogg” for ruining his entrance. When Snoop chalks it up as nothing, he orders drinks for everyone – until Bo appears, states Snoop’s full name and says, “I thought we had an agreement.” Shaking his head, Snoop replies, “Bo Buchanan, we meet again.” Suddenly, Bo cracks a smile and he and Snoop hug. Snoop reveals that Bo got him his first break in the music industry. After the men catch up, Snoop says how he wants to buy everyone a drink then announces, “Drinks on Bo!”

Soaps.com wants to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! Stay safe, and if you don’t have any plans, be sure to tune in to One Life to Live from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern time and jam with Snoop!

With all the great recent episodes this is what they are showing for a holiday rerun? When will TPTB realize that the demographics who watch soaps and the demographics that like this sort of "music" are not at all the same. So many of the OTTL cast are musically talented that if they think they need a musical interlude they don't need to bring in some outsider.

Also, why do soaps insist on holiday reruns? Even when the soaps were live instead of taped, there were new episodes every holiday. Is this just another way for the networks to try and save a buck?
