Oliver Fish first came on the scene when Talia was sent to work at the Cherryvale PD. Someone who was first looked at as a computer geek, Oliver transferred to the Llanview PD and gained the respect of his fellow officers.
During the 2009 Go Red Ball, Oliver hoped to gain the company of Layla Williamson but ended up being seduced by Stacey Morasco! Though Oliver fell head over heels in love with Stacey, she broke his heart and left him damaged by love.
John McBain turned to Oliver while on the hunt to uncover the Llanview Slasher, leaving Oliver to lend a hand any way he could - while staying on the legal end of things.
However, after running into his old frat buddy, Kyle Lewis, it appears Oliver has a secret - one he seems to be covering up by dating Layla Williamson.

At Rodi's, Bo tries to pressure John into telling him the whole story, which leads John to again think about kissing Natalie. John assures Bo he's okay with Marty having the baby then Fish and Brody appear and congratulate him. While Fish and John have a drink, Brody admits to Bo that not too long ago, he and Jessica were talking about having children. Later, Bo makes a toast to John about becoming a father, leading John to think of his own dad. John continues to brush off Bo's questions, plays "Oh Danny Boy" on the jukebox then stares off, as Brody downs a shot and all of the patrons sing with the music. John, Bo, Fish and Brody move to the bar, as Nora, Layla, Natalie and Roxy come in - with Roxy screaming, "What do you have to do to get a beer around here?" Natalie and John make eye contact, as Roxy screams with joy about being in a room with all of these drunken cops! When "Come On Eileen" comes over the jukebox, Roxy wants to dance, because she went to school with a girl named Eileen, and everyone follows. Natalie joins John, and they do a shot to good times.
Kyle and Fish are at the diner talking about Schuyler taking Sierra home, when Greg appears and claims Schuyler is unfit to be a father. Greg informs Fish about Schuyler's misdeeds at the hospital, but Fish thinks Schuyler might have been falsely accused. Greg doubts it, warns Kyle, who works for him, to stay away from Schuyler and vows to make Schuyler's life a living hell. Once Greg leaves, Kyle tells Fish it's not the point if Schuyler might be shady, the point is whether or not he's Sierra's father. Fish wants to believe that Sierra is fine.
