As Dorian tries to leave the diner, to see what's holding up the elections committee, Markko stops her, warning that they won't tell Dorian anyway. Suddenly, Amelia gets a call and explains that it came down to one vote - and Viki is the new mayor! Cole smirks at Markko, who apparently was the deciding vote! Though Starr is excited for Viki, she backtracks and sympathizes for Dorian. Amelia explains the committee recounted the votes three times then says, "It's over." Dorian rants about making the deciding person who voted for Viki pay - and glares at Cole and Markko, who Starr claims both voted for Dorian. Though Markko says that whoever had the deciding vote had a right to make their choice, Dorian stomps away, as Cole warns Markko to come clean with Langston - now!
Over at Dorian's, everyone helps Hope celebrate her first birthday, as Dorian anticipates something else to celebrate - her victory over Viki! Over talk of the election, Markko claims to Langston that he voted for Dorian but appears as though he's lying, as she hugs him with excitement! After Todd asks Amelia and Dorian which one of them is the groom, he takes Hope away to change her, while Marty confronts Blair for keeping Todd from his child! When Todd rejoins them, Marty says, "There's something I need to tell you. It's about your child." Marty relieves Blair by bringing up Cole and Starr's relationship, and warns him not to think about coming between them, then walks off. While Dorian and Amelia watch the polls on TV, Starr and Cole think back to how they thought they lost Hope. Cole promises they'll all be together always. Later, while opening Hope's gifts, Dorian snickers to Amelia as Starr opens Viki's promise book to Hope, claiming that Viki can't even keep her promises to the people of Llanview - like she plans to! Dorian vows to win the election, as Jack takes bets on who's going to win. Markko places one, in front of Langston, on Dorian, as Marty says she'd put a bundle on Viki! Markko pulls Cole away, admits he lied to Langston and says he voted for Viki! Though Cole assures him that there's no way Langston could find out the truth, an announcement comes over the television saying, "Every vote counts."
Just as Starr is ready to take Hope to bed, Marcie appears and spends some time with the baby, Starr and Cole, while Blair walks Todd out - since everyone is forced to wait until morning for the election results.
The residents of Llanview line up in Angels Square to cast their vote for mayor, and Langston assumes that Markko is going to vote for Dorian. However, Markko reminds her that Viki took him in then is interrupted when Dorian joins them to find out what the response has been among the kids' peers. Amelia goes to Nick, who is seated at a bench, and tries to comfort him, as he looks at a newspaper photo of Kyle and Fish kissing. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Rivera arrive, and as they are badgering Markko about being at the rally, Dorian introduces them to her partner - Amelia! The Riveras aren't impressed and walk away, leaving Dorian to thank Markko for being able to think for himself, and for be open-minded, unlike his parents.
Noelle joins Moe, and Dorian approaches and asks if he'll cook for her, for the victory dinner, when she wins. Moe laughs, says that he already agreed to cook for Viki then comments that either way, he'll be cooking! As Langston and Markko continue arguing over Markko's vote, Starr runs into Schuyler and they catch up. Starr just wants Schuyler to be happy, and he agrees, saying, "I'm working on that." Schuyler glances from afar at Gigi. Later, one by one, the voting winds down, as Cole assures Starr that he's fine with her talking to Schuyler.
Across the way, Dorian introduces Andrew to her fiancée, Amelia, then they talk about Cassie's view on what Dorian's doing - Cassie knows that Dorian is not a lesbian and that she's doing this for a good cause. Langston and Starr show up to support Dorian, to which Dorian takes them in her arms. Later, while watching all of the brides and grooms, Starr and Langston are excited when Cole and Markko finally arrive!
Cris appears and tells Fish that he came to support him - and Layla appears shortly after to do the same thing. Across the Square, Roxy arrives to support Kyle - no matter what he decides to do. When a woman from the protesting crowd, Markko's mother's friend, sees Markko straightening Cole's tie, she screams that Markko is breaking his mother's heart! Markko says he's proud to love Cole Thornhart, as Starr and Langston join them, claiming to be a couple as well!
Starr and Langston arrive at Cole and Markko's and announce that Dorian wants them all at 'the wedding'. Markko refuses to go, saying his father would have a fit, and Cole feels the same way, claiming that Dorian's only going through with this to win the election. "I'm with Markko," Cole says. "I'm not going either." Regardless, the girls decide to go without them then storm out - but the guys stop them!
While spending some time together at the diner, Star and Cole want nothing more than to 'be together', but they have nowhere to go to be alone - and decide to work on their homework and share dessert.
While watching the press conference from their apartment, just as Langston assures Markko's mother that she didn't know her mother was a lesbian, they watch as it's reported that an unknown person fell from an upstairs window at Dorian's - and see that it's Blair! As Cole and Starr rush out, Hope cries, but Mrs. Rivera takes the baby and tells Starr, "Go to your mother." Starr and Cole leave, promising to call with news. Langston turns the television back on, to see if there's been an update, and is shocked to see Amelia sending her love to her fiancée, Dorian, via the press conference! Langston apologizes to the Riveras, but Mr. Rivera suggests they pray. Langston tells the Riveras how glad she and Markko are that they are there to help them.
