RENEE BUCHANAN'S HISTORY

A Madam in a classy brothel, Renee Divine left that life behind and came to Llanview in 1987. Running into her ex-lover, Asa Buchanan turned out to be the main reason Renee decided to put down roots in Llanview, as Asa was just as happy to see Renee, too. However, her timing couldn't have been worse. At the time, an impostor to Bo Buchanan was trying to get close to Asa and rob him blind. Patrick London saw Renee as a threat and made it look as though she was poisoning Asa! Asa fell for it and brought charges against Renee, but soon found out the truth and dropped them.

The following year, Renee married Asa during a double ceremony with Corde and Tina Roberts. While the two appeared to be a match made in heaven, their marriage soon ended after Asa couldn't refuse the sex appeal of vixen Blair Cramer! Asa finally came to his senses and realized that Blair was only after his money, and began secretly dating Renee again.

In 1999, a secret from Renee's past began to eat away at her, causing her to open up to Nora Buchanan about a son who she gave away at birth. Although Nora tried to locate Renee's estranged son, her efforts went unnoticed. That same year, Asa and Renee were set to be married for a second time. She bit the bullet and told Asa the truth. Asa forgave her and together they set out to locate their child.

Max Holden came forward and claimed to be her and Asa's son. Renee couldn't have been happier seeing as she'd always looked to Max as her own, anyway. With guilt haunting him, Max wasn't able to keep up the charade and admitted that he wasn't Renee's son and only did it as a way to prosper from Asa's fortune. Renee slapped Max across the face so hard that an unknown aneurysm exploded in Max's head! Asa was devastated, and Renee didn't have the heart to tell him that Max was a fake.

Privately, Renee set out to find her son and eventually left Asa after finding out about his shady business dealings and vendetta's against the Davidson - Rappaport families. However, in 2001, Renee's search came to an end when Todd Manning announced to Llanview that Max Holden had been taking Asa for a ride and his real son was Ben Davidson! Asa was furious that Renee had deceived him, but later forgave her. Just when Renee found her son, he was taken away from her after Ben was shot by a crazed woman, lost in a coma for years, then ultimately taken off life support. Renee left Llanview for a while to mend her broken heart.

In 2004, Renee married Asa for a third time and managed to remain happy until December 2006 when Spencer Truman came forward and declared that he was Asa's son! Although a DNA test proved that Spencer wasn't a Buchanan, the fact that Asa had slept with Emma Bradley, one of Renee's 'girls,' while he was involved with Renee, hurt her deeply. In the end, with Asa's ailing health, Renee continues to stand by the side of her Texas Cowboy.
