Just then, Shaun appears and shoots at Serge! As Todd struggles with Serge over his gun, it goes off - and Todd is shot in the leg, but Shaun assures Starr that Todd will be fine. Starr begs Shaun to save Hope, who rushes upstairs, then Todd and Starr are again attacked by Serge from behind! Serge beats Todd to the ground and smashes a vase over his head!
When the men come downstairs with Hope, Starr screams for her baby, and her dad, who is beaten unconscious to a pulp, and is shocked to hear that Shaun is dead! Suddenly, just as Serge and his thugs take Starr and Hope to the door, Shaun appears, with his gun drawn, but Serge shoots him in the neck! Shaun falls to the ground, and Starr and Hope are led away…
Shortly after, John and Fish arrive at the mansion to find Shaun lying in a pool of blood!
Todd continues to talk to the mayor, at campaign headquarters, about Cole's undercover work, and the mayor assures Todd that he's taking care of it as they speak! Todd worries about the mobsters involved getting to his kids, who 'should' be safe at his ex-wife's house, then the mayor promises that John's days as a renegade are coming to an end - and that he will be in touch!
When Todd arrives, Shaun heads upstairs, and Todd makes sure that Starr and Hope are safe, but Starr demands to know what he's done! Though John calls to check on Starr, Todd assures him that she is fine, hangs up on John then tells Starr he took care of everything - which is exactly what Starr's afraid of!
Suddenly, Serge comes in the backdoor, announces himself as Cole's boss then pulls a gun on Todd and Starr!
With Dorian listening from outside the living room at the mansion, Starr informs Todd that Cole is working undercover for John. At first, Todd doesn't believe her but then says, "I'll be damned." Dorian scurries away, as Starr tries to convince Todd that she and Hope are safe - and begs him not to make her regret trusting him! Todd blames John for using Cole, and Starr and Hope inadvertently, but Starr says, "Everything's under control! John is making sure that Cole is safe - and me too." Todd plans to put a stop to the madness now! Again, Starr begs Todd to calm down - and to think about what he's doing! Todd asks Starr to stay safe and agrees to tell her his 'good news' later. Once Todd is gone, Starr leaves a message for Cole, saying she thinks she made a big mistake!
Just as the mayor wraps up a call to 'someone' in the drug ring, Todd arrives at the campaign office, and tells the mayor that his daughter may be in danger - and that he can't go to the cops about it! "Talk to me," the mayor urges. Todd brings up Cole being undercover then asks the mayor to have him taken off the undercover operation.
Todd presents Tea with breakfast in bed - with her grapefruit containing a ring! Though Todd wants to get married, today, Tea refuses, not wanting a quickie wedding. Todd gives in, but makes a comment on him being the only husband she's ever had - and not thinking she needed all of the wedding glamour. Tea suggests he go tell the kids, and Todd remembers he needs to talk to Starr about Cole as well. Tea worries about Blair's reaction to their engagement news, but Todd assures her Blair isn't a threat…
Todd arrives at the mansion and takes Starr into the living room. As gently as possible, Todd says, "Your boyfriend's a drug dealer." When Todd doesn't get a reaction out of Starr, he threatens to turn Cole in - but Starr stops him by admitting that Cole is working undercover for John! Little do they know, Dorian is listening to everything from outside the partially opened door!
