Tea questions Matthew again, trying to fix the damage Elijah has done, and helps to show that Matthew has thought this decision through thoroughly. Once the judge ends the testimony for today, Tea praises Matthew, while Bo and Nora remind Elijah to go easy on their son! Bo and Nora head to the car, while Matthew says goodbye to Destiny. After Tea rips up the file that Elijah gave her, Elijah says, "So, that's how you want to play…"
Outside the Buchanan mansion, Bo and Nora ask Matthew if he plans to bring their kiss out in court - because they'd like the chance to tell Clint first.
As Matthew barges into the mansion, Clint is forcing David out with a gun - and Bo wants to know what David is doing there! David puts his arm around Bo, smiles into the camera and says, "This is my dad."
When Tea calls Matthew to the stand, he starts by explaining how his life has changed - since the accident. As Matthew goes over all of the conversations between him and his parents up until now, Bo and Nora's hearts break as Matthew says, "The worst is when I wake up… At least in my dreams I can walk." Tea breaks out Matthew's yearbook, and they look at his sports pictures then talk about how excited Matthew was about the possibility of Dr. Evans performing the surgery - unlike his parents. When Tea makes Bo and Nora look bad, Nora stands up and reminds Tea that she has no idea what it's like to have and love a child at all costs! Nora is forced to sit down, as Tea continues to help Matthew fight for the right to make his own decision. "I have a chance to walk again," Matthew says then reminds his parents of how they raised him to take chances. "I might not make it through, but I'm willing to take that chance," Matthew finishes.
During a brief recess, Elijah comments to Tea that she really must like taking chances… On the stand, Destiny gives Matthew her support then Bo and Nora inform Matthew how tough it was to hear the things he said, to which Matthew replies, "It's the truth."
With court back in order, Elijah cross-examines Matthew and reminds him that it was his own poor judgment that put him in the wheelchair in the first place!
Outside the courtroom, as Bo and Nora are talking about how they almost stopped the wedding, Clint calls. Nora briefly takes the call then Nora and Bo tiptoe around their feelings about whether or not they should tell Clint about their kiss. Just then, Matthew appears, and Bo and Nora bring up how he told Tea about their kiss - and about how he asked Tea not to use the information. His parents thank him, and Matthew apologizes too, saying he only wants his legs back - not to hurt anyone. As Bo and Nora head into the courtroom, Destiny shows up to support Matthew.
When court is called to session, Tea stutters as she stares at the paper that Elijah gave her then gives up the opportunity to present an opening statement! Shocking Matthew, and everyone else, Tea doesn't think she can win the case with her words - but calls Matthew to the stand!
Bo meets Nora at the courthouse, and they end up in a tiff with Tea over the blackmail of their kiss. As Tea claims that Bo and Nora are keeping the truth from Clint because they still have feelings for each other, Nora wonders if Tea has any dirty laundry herself - and promises if they find it, they'll use it against her too! As Tea thinks back to Elijah's threats, he arrives and asks for a moment with Tea.
Outside the courtroom, Nora worries that Tea is going to reveal their kiss and wonders how to tell Clint, but Bo doesn't think Tea will spill the goods - and convinces Nora to let sleeping dogs lie. Though Nora worried about her future minutes before the wedding, she admits she's happy with Clint, and Bo agrees that she looked happy at the wedding. However, they are both stunned to hear that each of them almost stopped the wedding!
