Just as Gigi arrives home, Rex answers a call, but it's a hang-up - it was Schuyler! Gigi wonders how Rex is doing, but they are interrupted by a call from John, who tells them Jared died, then Gigi sends Rex off to be with his sister.
Just as Natalie is about to head home, Rex arrives at John's and takes his sister in his arms. John gives them some time alone and leaves then Natalie tells Rex that Jared was framed and that he was murdered - by Mitch Laurence! Rex reminds Natalie that Mitch is dead, but just as Natalie says that she saw him kill Jared, Roxy walks in and hears Natalie finish, "Mitch is alive and well!"
Her Quest To Keep Them Apart...
Rex arrives home to the carriage house and tells Gigi he ran into Roxy - and found something out. Gigi immediately thinks he's talking about her being in Schuyler's room, but Rex informs her that he found out he's Mitch Laurence's son, who is the scum of the earth. After Gigi does a computer search, she wonders if Roxy could be lying, but Rex shows her his birth certificate. Though Gigi reminds him that Mitch is dead, Rex says, "It doesn't change the fact that he's my father." Rex talks about Jessica being his sister but wonders how he'll make peace with having Mitch's blood running through his veins. Gigi assures Rex that he's the man she fell in love with then shows Rex the sonogram of his and Stacy's baby, saying the baby is perfect - even though it has a mother like Stacy - and so is Rex, despite who his father is. Changing the subject, Rex wonders what Gigi was about to tell him when he got home, but Gigi says it doesn't matter then assures Rex that he's a great dad. Both exchange I love yous.
Goodbye Jared...
Back in Llanview, at the Angels Square Hotel, Rex demands to know if Mitch Laurence is his father! Though Roxy denies it, Rex shows her his birth certificate then Roxy finally admits that Mitch was his father - but she pulled the plug on him! Roxy begs Rex to let it go, but Rex can't - because Jessica is his sister! Finally, Roxy agrees that it's time - and that she owes him the truth. Again, Roxy admits that Mitch has been the secret she's kept from him, which leads Rex to storm off.
Deathbed Confessions...
Rex arrives home to the carriage house and stares at his birth certificate. When Shane appears, he wonders if Rex's case is over. Rex says no but promises to be there for him and his mom. Shane fills Rex in on everything that's gone on in Llanview since he left then admits that Schuyler was a great fill-in for him - and that they won the best Halloween costume! Rex is startled to see Noelle and wonders where Gigi is. Noelle lies that Gigi went to Rodi's, to make a delivery, but Rex is suspicious.
Suddenly, Gigi arrives home, and Noelle and Shane make a quick getaway. As Rex hugs Gigi, saying how much he missed her, Rex smells tequila! Gigi claims she broke a bottle at Rodi's this morning then rants about what Corrine told her. Rex explains that Corrine lied then covers Gigi up, who he sees isn't feeling well. When Rex asks if it's okay if he goes to take care of something, promising to tell her everything when he returns, Gigi lets him go. Once alone, Gigi calls Schuyler to thank him again - and Schuyler warns her that Roxy saw her leaving his room!
Later, when Rex finds Roxy at the Angels Square Hotel, she says, "There's something I've got to tell you," but Rex screams, "Save it! I know who my father is… Mitch Laurence!"
Back From The Dead...
After Rex, who's still in Michigan, reads the name of his father, Mitch Laurence, from his birth certificate, he accuses Corrine and Roxy of lying! However, Corrine assures Rex that it's true, that her brother was involved with Mitch at the time, a man who could make anyone do what he wanted.
A Grave Discovery...
Over in Michigan, after Corrine reminds Rex that she knows who his father is, Rex demands that the cops take her in - until she says, "I have proof!" Once the cops give them some time, Rex demands to see the proof, and Corrine hands him an envelope from the clinic in Llanview. Rex recognizes the clinic as being the one where Roxy got the stem cells, and Corrine relays that the man who sent it said she could give it to him once 'this' was all over - and warns Rex he can never look back once he looks inside! Rex empties the envelope's contents, as Corrine explains that they are his father's things. Rex sees a ring, holds it up and sees that it's monogrammed then reads the name of his parents on his birth certificate… Roxy is his mother, and Rex's father is Mitch Laurence!
A Declaration Of Innocence...
When Nadine tries to rush out her door, in Michigan, John stops her then Brody appears from the bedroom, holding Corrine, letting John know that they drugged him and Rex. Brody is shocked to hear that they drugged them to get them away from Jessica and Natalie! Nadine claims that the person who offered to pay her to keep Brody there was just a voice on the phone. Corrine claims the same happened to her - and that neither of them saw the man who called. John shows them a photo of Jared, but they deny seeing him, as they do with a few other photos, including Nash's. Brody tries to call Jessica and gets nervous when he gets her voicemail.
