Soon after, Langston arrives home, and everyone wonders where she was. Langston explains she was at the university library then demands that someone explain what's really going on. Suddenly, Dorian appears, with the FBI, says she fired Lowell and promises to explain… if they let her. With her girls seated around her, Dorian shows them the Christmas card that Mitch sent her - with their faces x'd out in red.
Todd goes to Starr's apartment, wakes up Starr and says, "Tea dumped me." Not wanting Dani to see him, Starr goes into the hallway and assures Todd that Tea still loves him. "I have nowhere else to go," Todd sighs, and Starr wraps him in her arms. "Tea and I are over for good," Todd continues then the two say good night, and he leaves.
Dani joins Starr and Cole in their living room, happy that she missed Todd. Starr assures Dani that he only wanted to make sure she was okay then all three notice the hotline on television - for anyone who's seen Jessica. Dani can't take hearing anymore about crazy fathers then rushes out to the diner, leaving Starr upset for having provoked Dani with her comment about Todd. Surprisingly, Cole can understand why Todd's done the things he's done to get closer to his kids. Starr thanks him for being there for her then they both agree they're lucky to have each other.
Todd brings Cole and Starr back to their apartment, where Starr wonders if he was hoping to see Dani. While Cole goes to check on Dani, Todd and Starr talk about Dani and Tea, which leads Starr to urge Todd not to give up on Tea - or Dani. Later, once Todd is gone, Cole tells Starr that he's worried - no one's heard from John.
Over at the Buchanan Mansion, Marty, Starr and Cole arrive. While Starr and Todd discuss Dani, Marty finds out that John is with Natalie. Later, Cole goes to Marty and wonders how she's feeling about the fact that John is with Natalie. It's clear that Marty is worried about John's lack of commitment to her, but Cole reminds his mom of just how much John cares about her. Seated on the couch, Clint assures Viki that Natalie and Jessica are going to be all right. Just then, Marty gets a call from Fish, who talks about John and says, "There's been an accident."
Starr and Cole are still making out in bed when he gets a call saying that Marty's been arraigned. "I'm going to pick her up right now." Cole smiles. Starr reminds him that they have people there to watch Hope and insists on going with him.
Cole arrives home, upset that Marty didn't get bail. Starr comforts him, as Cole expresses, "I don't know what I'd do without you." Though Cole wants to head back to the station, Starr convinces him to go to bed with her. Shortly after, in bed, Starr suggests that Cole count sheep, to help him sleep, but he admits he's afraid of sheep then talks about a time at a petting zoo, as a kid, when a sheep sneezed at him. Cole suggests they forget about farm animals then Starr starts counting his freckles until they come together in a kiss.
At their apartment, after Starr, Dani and Cole see the news on John, Cole remembers that his mom is at the courthouse then rushes off. Though Dani brings up how Todd must hate John, because he busted him for holding Cole's mom captive, she refuses to 'go there again' then looks through some clothes and talks to Starr about Matthew. They have a big sister moment when Dani admits she and Matthew kissed. Just as Dani worries about not having heard from Matthew in a while, he arrives.
Back at the apartment, Starr gives Matthew and Dani some alone time, but just as they start to kiss, the phone rings. Starr renters the room then everyone hears, from Cole, that John escaped - and Marty's been arrested! When Starr leaves the room again, Matthew takes another shot at a kiss, but Starr returns to get something. Matthew and Dani decide to head out to get something to eat.
Still at the apartment, while waiting for Dani to get ready, Starr and Tea talk about how Dani and Todd are handling their new connection - and the dangers of Mitch. "I wish someone would finally do something about Mitch," Starr says. "Once and for all." Tea apologizes for keeping Dani from Starr, but Starr is just happy that Dani can share Tea with her. Tea takes Starr in a tight hug.
