Whatever happened to Melanie Farrell MacIver?

Several years ago, Melanie Farrell MacIver was the "bad doctor" of Llanview, Pennsylvania.

Melanie was the younger sister of Lindsay Rappaport, as well as the ex-wife of fellow doctor Colin MacIver, who was eventually murdered.

She once confessed to Colin's murder, but it was actually Nora who killed him in self defense. She was even engaged to Bo Buchanan at one point.

But then, all of a sudden, she was written off the show.

So does anyone know whatever really happened to Melanie Farrell MacIver?

Melanie wasn't "bad". She was the anti-Lindsay. She DID start to lose it when it looked like she was going to lose Bo and she started lying and stuff. But she got a grip on herself, came clean and decided to leave town.
