I missed this at some point and have been trying to figure it out. What traumatic thing brought Tess out as an adult for the first time. (not the childhood experience)

Good question and I look forward to hearing what others say - I don't think there was anything tramatic, but I could be wrong.

If i remember correctly, she has always been around. When they started the storyline, they brought up things that Jessica normally wouldn't do since she was a little girl and blamed it on Tess. Ie.....cigarette butts

Jessica was abused by some guy because Nickie took her to a club. The guy actually made some videotapes of her. Tess
protected her a a child.
They have really gone overboard with Tess.

Thanks for the replies guess it could have been a number of things me and my friend figured it might have been when tico was murdered seems like thats when Tess started poping up

All I know is that I never cared for the Tess storyline but now I love her. Making Jared and Natalie pay is true justice. Though I wish they would let her kill Jared off, then maybe we could pretend the horrible storyline of Natalie and the oh so boring Jared never happened.

?) Why do the directors let this actress do that thing she does with her mouth? She looks like one side of her mouth is paralized and a constant pursing of the lips. Makes me want to scream. But I prefered the original Jessica anyway. She is just a better actress. This one is really beautiful but I don't see her as an even fair actress. Sorry. And maybe if she is aware of how her facial expressions are affecting people, maybe she can change that. Sometimes it's just a bad habit, though, and sometimes people can point stuff out and it just doesn't matter what people think.
