1st off this OPP story line is ridiculous, for people who are racist they are very extreme in their beliefs so why would tate be kissing layla and adrianna, if he is a member,also when natalie came to town she was a bi.. on wheels why is she always whining,speaking of whining Marty is crying everyday where did she get her license.there is no super couple on this soap just a bunch of unchemistried pairs, i feel john is trying to move on too fast and what kind of father figure could he be since he so emotinally unattached.about time so real emotions im glad antonio told nash to burn in hell he's a better person than me bcuz jessica wouldnt have gotten any piece of my liver and what is the story behing why miles is a lawrence,just to give him some family ties, and now that david's a buccanan it would be cool to see him stick around and spend the money. as for the question who needs to go NASH,PAIGE,MARTY,NORA,micheal,marcie bring on more scenes with TODD, ROXY,an unobessed REX,BO WITH LINDSEY,they might need to bring back an alter or 2

You have to stick it out!! the soaps can't afford to lose any more viewers. There is a new headwriter comng so things can only get better--I have 30+ years invested an at times cringed--but it always gets better.

I have 1 good reason that counts as like.... a million.
They have a new head writer so the storylines should get much better. Just keep wathcing... OLTL always as it's ups and downs.

As long as women on this show start becoming strong, intelligent women, instead of whiny little cry-babies who always need a man to rescue them, then I'm all for the writer change. I'm so tired of Marty, Natalie, Marcy, Adrianna, and many others, becoming soft little wimpy whiners. Backbones, that's what's needed around here.

I started watching this show in February because I
was a fan of Chris Beetem (Tate). Now his character has
been ruined for good with the OPP story. I also started
to like Miles and he is a nutso too. I can see why this show does not garner good ratings.

This is a decision that only you can make. If it upsets you as much as it appears it does - then stop watching it.

For me the show is not 100% fantastic every show and I also get sick of the whimpy women, but when I think it's stupid - I just turn it off.

Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan for close to 25 years, but it's not my life - I already have one of those.

Well i have only been watching this soap now for afew months and IMO its one of the best,I think there ratings should be alot higher then they are.

I think A VERY GOOD REASON to keep watching is Vicky and Dorian and Clint!!! Those 3 actors are so funny together!!! And they have been w/OLTL for a very long time!!! They are the reason I watch OLTL! I think Y&R has the best s/l's and relationships! Whatever they are doing I hope they keep it up!!!

I've been watching this soap for almost 30 years off and on. Mostly on. So you might as well stick with it because you will always come back. Then you might not know who some of the characters are. For instance I have no idea who Patrick is(Marty's hubby)but everyone talks about him like he was a regular at some point.

Why should you watch OLTL???

It is one of THE best soaps on the air (actually THE best in my estimation). Think of being a soap fan like investing in the stock market or marriage for that matter: there will inevitably be highs & lows, but the investor sticks with it in hopes of a high payoff. And with OLTL, payoff is achieved quite often.


In my humble opinion, there is one motto that I follow as a dedicated fan, and a tried & true law that any superb soap writer keeps in mind: "If you care about the character, you will follow that character anywhere". .

Remember, OLTL is ONLY as good as the writing & acting. Period! Storylines must be engaging, realisitic & touch the heart. Also, characters must be written that are believable. The actors who play them must put flesh & bones on the characters they play: Viki & Dorian are perfect examples.

I enter Llanview to see old friends & family for 1 hour a day. It's my escapism (beats drugs any day of the week!).

In short, stick with OLTL. Ron Carvalati is the new head writer. He is excellent. He is left with some outlandish stories courtesy of Dena Higley & cleanup is inevitable...but give him time. He will steer the ship of Llanview on the right course!
