I feel the need to start this again! |

Quote snackcake1: I feel the need to start this again!
We sit and watch this show and see how far it has fallen. You ask why people aren’t watching! Well here is why I think they aren’t watching: • Frons won’t drop this Rex/Stacy/Sky/Kim/Gigi crap!!! It’s not working end it!!! • They had a great thing with the gay storyline, until they added Dorian into the mix. They not only ruined the gay story they ruined the Mayor’s race for me! • They have ruined Dorian almost beyond repair! Dorian my do a lot of things to one up Viki, but this is beyond stupid! She could have beat Viki in other ways, but to say she is gay is beyond stupid! They have written Dorian all year this way and if I were her I would have taken a walk, sad thing is she loves her job and for us she stayed. • I sit and think about soaps back in the hay days of when the ratings were up and shows were great! Back when I had VCR tapes and kept them and watched the show over and over again! For me those days are gone! You see back in the 70 and 80’s not everyone was a size 2 or 4! Jeanie Francis was not a size 2 or 4 and yet people tuned in and watched! Luke Spencer was not the hunk of today. He didn’t have the six pack abs of today, but both of them sold it! Back then we had actors who could sell a story!! Back then you had stories that actors could sell! • We all want to blame the addition of more channels! Bull! I work 2nd shift and still watch what I want to watch thanks to the DVR. I tape OLTL plus other primetime shows. Think about it we didn’t really have VCR’s until what the middle of the 80’s. Yet ratings were up with folks having to “watch” the show. Today we can tape and watch later! • Fact is the shows are driving viewers away! Fact is they think that size 2 and 4’s can bring viewers in. Fact is they think a shirtless 6 pack abs can bring people in! Fact is it takes more than that to impress me! Fact is I would rather have Luke and Laura then half of the cast of GH! Fact is I would rather have Charlie and Viki than half the cast! Fact is until daytime can start bringing quality back to daytime it will be a thing of the past! Fact is when people “are “ more impressed when someone takes a shirt off than the quality of the show soaps will be gone within the next 5 years! Then we all will sit back say we should have acted when we had a chance! Act while we still can! |

Truthfully, the only reason I enjoy the soaps is because there are no repeats as in primetime tv. But soaps have been extremely boring, and s/l's dragging on forever. If this keeps up, then someday judge shows will take their place as they did on another netwok! |

The other thing with these soaps the drap out the storyline so long I feel it will take 12 months just to get it out there. Before back in the 80's it was probably two weeks and it was over and on too another scene. |

I can honestly say that I was watching YEAR more than any other soap over the las two years. But the YT clips of OLTL from 2003-2007 were some of the best writing ever. |

Do you think that some of the soaps that "died" did because of poor writing which led to viewers no longer watching? There are less soaps on, than back in the 70's and 80's when Ryan's Hope and Port Charles and such were on. Passions died and so did Guiding Light. I think there are about 8 soaps on television right now. If the writing continues to fade, do you think that "soaps" in general will be a part of the past? |

Seems there's no "innocence" left in soaps. There were "affairs" not "bed hopping' with every person in town! Divorce happened when a "character" left the show. They dealt with true to life matters of the heart and family issues. Medical/social s/l's were addressed and informative.I used to enjoy watching the soaps with my mom when I was young, Edge of Night was her favorite. But nowdays soaps seem to be just something to watch in spare time or on lunch when there's not much on TV. |

I am a 60+ woman and have been watching OLTL for longer than I can remember but this excess of gay/lesbian junk is really turning me off. I realize I am not PC but guys kissing on TV is more than I can take, they must be trying to out do the Bianca story line on AMC. On the up side I love when David is on the show, he adds so much. One more thing why would Todd believe anything Blair says. |

As for the guys kissing on TV, One Life to Live was the first soap opera to have a black woman dating a white man, so it stands to reason that they would be pushing the envelope on the gay storyline. We are in the 21st Century already aren't we? Or are we still backwards with racism, bigotry and slavery? |

It isn't even a storyline, just each actor taking their turn saying how great gay marriage is. Stupid. |
