On Soapnet, for a couple of years, they had a reality show: So You Want to Be a Soap Star.

Well, hey, we ain't actors. But we are observers. I think they should have a new reality show: So You Want to Be a Soap WRITER.

How much fun would that be? I could win!!!

Yes!!! But you wouldn't win. I'd have it in the bag. What exactly do you propose as the prize?

The contest could be writing scenes and having the actors try them out. But the prize could be having the winner write a whole series of scenes in a single episode -- commercial to commercial. Or even just one scene.

OR, the winner could submit a life-changing scene and have it incorporated.

There are all kinds of ways this could work. And I'd bet there are lots of talented writers among us.
