One Life To Live - MESSAGE BOARDS

whats going on OLTL writing team? It seems most of their storylines are crumbling before our very eyes. They are dragging out stories not to mention ruining most if not all of the storytelling right now. With the exception of Blair/Todd/Tea. Im not wishing any bad luck on the show or the actors in particular but if the writing does not get better I feel the cancellation rumors may come a reality for the show. I hope they will put Nora and Bo back together finally, Viki wins as mayor, Blair finally leaves Todd/Tea alone, Matt has his surgery, Gigi/Rex fix things and Nat/John get back together. If they can pulll this off not to mention Linsey back as well they will be good to go. Maybe its wishful thinking. My fav show is now gone(Guiding Light) OLTL was my number 2 show to go to I pray nothing happens or I will be hurt and prob never watch soaps anymore.

Here are the things I think should change..
Rachel and Greg/Shaun: What are they going to do if he ever wakes up?

Matthew and Destiny: I really, really hope they have a Jason and Carly kind of relationship.. No romance please!!

Stacy and Kim need to GOOO AWAY!! Like NOW!!

Todd and Tea are getting on my nerves but I am not sure he should be with Blair either.

Why the heck did the writers allow Clint and Nora and Vickie and Charlie to marry!!! WHY, WHY, WHY??? Bad move.

As far as the Natalie/Jared stalker storyline, I never liked Natalie and I think she is annoying but she can do so much better than Jared.

On a positive note...
I think Jess and Brody's relationship is a breath of fresh air. He is so hot and she deserves to be happy.

I have a different opinion. I agree that the writers are falling into the trap of writing this soap like they have done with many soaps in the past. Sometimes, it's very slow and the lines between characters are soap-like. If One Life to Live is indeed in danger of being canceled next year, then they have to write differently sort of like the writers of the Battlestar Galactica show on Sci-Fi, which was a soap opera, or a space opera as they like to call it. The writing there was smart, decisive, inventive, and always full of surprises with various twists and turns.

I'd have Stacey have the child, but Rex should quickly realize what's going on. Make Rex the guy we all loved with the intelligence he showed for years on the show being a detective and all. Make Stacey fight for custody with the gay cop, Oliver Fish, who should eventually want to raise his son or daughter with Kyle. Make sure that Pennsylvania's laws are brought up for discussion about the legality of gay marriage and the question of gay adoption. These are major issues around the country today.

Stop the triangle with Clint, Bo, and Nora. It's boring and it's not going anywhere. We all know that Bo will wind up with Nora. I'd love to see Clint woo Viki again. Now, that would not only be interesting, but logical. Years ago, the writers broke up Viki and Clint for no known good reasons. Beforehand, if they were broken up, it was because of others trying to break them up by hiding information and the like. They were the one couple you could count on to stay together. We had a real family there, something perhaps we all need again.

Bring back Mitch Laurence, the greatest bad guy One Life to Live ever really had. It should be known that Rex had been kidnapped from his real mother, Tina Lord Roberts. He could be the twin of C.J.'s or Sarah's. Just like Mitch had twins with Viki, he could have done the same thing with Rex. Thus, we make Rex really a part of the Buchanans. Bring back Tina too. She so fits as Rex's real mother. Roxy would have a lot of explaining to do, but in the end, no one will really bring up charges against Roxy if she was threatened and worse. We still wonder why Aunt Corine raised Rex and not Natalie. There are questions there.

Here are a few examples of how the show could really get back on top. Have the plots run quicker too. We need action. And bring back Adriana. She was a really great WITCH......and we could use that again.
