Saw a rumor that Patricia Mauceri (Carlotta) has been let go and replaced by Saundra Santiago (ex-Isobela Santi). The rumor said that Patricia objected to a small part in the upcoming gay s/l, saying it would be out of charactor for Carlotta. TPTB responded by firing her. Another rumor is out there that Pat has been unhappy every since the name of the cafe was changed. TPTB figured that they could push her button with this small part and create a media buzz out of it, circa Cris Engen from Y & R. It's bad enough that they are sticking Stacy down out throats. Don't these peopl have any integrity? |

:0 OUCH! I liked Carlotta but for a long time now TPTB have focused more on the younger set than the older set. It has been a while since Carlotta has actually been on. I mean, what is the reason for some of these older characters to be grateful that they can come to work maybe 1x a month and have one scene? What is that? Look at the actress that portrays Renee Divine. Her last scene was at the Palace Hotel making "goo-goo" eyes at one of the locals. Is that going to be the extent of her acting, and if it is why? |

Don't these peopl have any integrity?  Ah I loved Patricia but Saundra played a character on my other soap Guiding Light and she did a very good job! I haven't seen her on TV in a while and it would be nice to see her back on! I will miss Patricia and why would they put her in a gay storyline. Carlotta isnt the kind of character that would be in that type of storyline. Saundra wouldn't be good for that kind of part either in my opinion. |

Saundra also played the part of Antonio's BIRTH mother on OLTL. Love the actress, but for those of us who still remember her playing Isobella Santi, this just reeks. |

I miss Renee Devine too...she shows up today in a very unexpected place....I wonder where she fits into the Rex story line? Should be interesting....I too will miss Patricia as Carlotta...she is a lovely lady and talented acctress...I live on Long Island and met her several years ago on a day trip to Fire Island...she was very gracious and chatty..... |

Don't these peopl have any integrity? They were gonna make her gay? That makes 0 sense! Unless they totally rewrite history thats impossible! But since they recasted whatever. I liked the real Carlotta, Channel surfing is in my near future!! I really don't get it. You want to add a gay couple, Great!! then bring 2 new people, create 2 new roles and stop messing with the pre-exixting charecters! Im so sick of this garbage!!  Sorry didn't read all the posts first. That sounds better. I don't care about those 2 guys so whatever!! as long as it's not Chris!! |

I'm sorry to see Carlotta leave and actually since the role of Carlotta has been so minor for so long I'm surprised they even recast it. Instead of recasting, the s/l could have even gone along the line that she left town to go where Antonio is (so she could watch Jamie for him) and she sold the diner to Moe/Noelle. |
