Graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, Erika was one of the youngest students to be accepted to the prestigious school when she was 17.
Born in Hollywood, Erika learned to speak German before she learned English, then went on to attend the Sacred Heart Schools in Greenwich, CT, and Philadelphia, PA.
Erika had many credits in theater before making her debut in television in 1971 on
One Life to Live. Starring in shows from Shakespeare to Noel Coward, she was a member of the Milwaukee Repertory Company and of the Alley Theater in Houston.
In 1996, she made Daytime Emmy history, winning her fifth Outstanding Lead Actress Award for her role as Victoria Lord, going on to win the award four more times thereafter. In 2002, Erika was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' esteemed Silver Circle.
