CBS Pre-Empts: March Madness!

While we realize some soap fans are also big basketball fans as well, it’s never fun when our favorite soaps are pre-empted due to such sporting events. However, Soaps.com aims to always please and prides ourselves in bringing our readers the news – no matter if it’s good or bad!

With that being said, come Thursday, March 20, 2008, and Friday, March 21, 2008, all CBS soaps including As the World Turns, Bold and the Beautiful, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless will not be seen due to the March Madness NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Keep in mind, this CBS pre-empt won’t affect any of the other network soaps including ABC and NBC. All CBS soaps will resume come Monday, March 24, 2008.

So if you’re a basketball fan, enjoy the tournament! If not, always feel free to visit our Soaps.com Message Boards to help the two days fly by!

They do this every year. Basketball does better in the ratings then soaps so they pre-empt them to put this on. CBS isn't the only channel that pre-empts for sports. NBC will probably be pre-empting DAYS for much longer come Summer Olympic time. They don't put it on cable because they want the big advertising dollars...sports do that still and soaps don't.
