Yancy Butler is the woman who plays Ava Jenkins on As The World Turns. You may have seen her in Witch Blade, Basilisk: The Serpent King, The Lyon's Den or Striking Range.

Marie D asks, "I am so upset that Passions will no longer be aired on Channel 4. I cannot get Direct TV. Is there any other way that I can keep-up with the show? I've watched it since day one and have enjoyed every cast member. They are the greatest! I hope you will be able to answer my question."


Thanks for your note, Marie. We are upset about this as well. There are talks that Allarco Entertainment is going to take over Passions for Canadians. This is all in talks as of yet and hasn't been confirmed. In fact, when I spoke with Sylvie Powell from Allarco, she advised me that she could not yet confirm this and asked me to wait it out a little longer. Until a contract is signed, it's in their best interest not to say a word! We'll keep you posted on this.

Perhaps if they do take over the show, the show will air on regular television for Canadian and USA residents. Until then, DirecTV is the only way that anyone's going to see Passions that we know of.

I believe that Renee actually left of her own accord when a contract agreement could not be reached. We hear she is being written off of the show, permanently. Paul Anthony Stewart originated the role of Danny Santos on Guiding Light and played the part from November 11, 1998 to November 22, 2005. Sebastian Thorpe (Doug Hutchison) played Sebastian from September 28th, 2004 to July 20th, 2005. We have not heard of a return of either character, but we always the most up-to-date news about the cast in our Guiding Light Comings and Goings, so you can check those a few times a week to get the scoop!

There was an actor named John Wesley Shipp. He played Dr. Kelley Nelson, and was dating Morgan Richards. He lived at the Reardon Boarding House and married Morgan in spite of Nola Reardon's shenanigans of trying to get him to ditch Morgan for her. Eventually, after her affair with Josh Lewis, Morgan and Kelley divorced.

Does this ring any bells?! John played Kelley from February 5th 1980 to November 1984. Incidentally, he's also 'The Flash'!
