Interviews : Soaps Stars Appreciate The Fans!

Monday, July 09 2007

Terri Colombino with Mike Collier
Soaps.com realizes that fans put a lot of extra time and effort into loving their favorite soap stars. They are passionate, loyal and giving and deserve to be noticed for this, so Soaps.com Editors asked a few soap stars, "What's the nicest item you've received from a fan?" The soap stars all sounded as though they felt blessed to have their fans, even without gifts, but you can sense how a smile came across each and every one of our soap stars faces as they answered the question.

Big Brother Alumni, Will Kirby, made a guest appearance on Y&R a few months back. Amy Mistretta (Y&R and OLTL Editor) had a chance to chat with him and asked, "Will, what's the nicest item you've received from a fan?" Will told Amy, "I receive a lot of cool clothes, mostly Chill- Town t-shirts." The appreciation for his fans clearly heard in his voice.

Amy Mistretta recently spoke with Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore, Y&R) Amy asked Adrienne, "What's the most remarkable thing you’ve ever received from a fan?" Adrienne told Amy, "Any homemade artwork. I really appreciate the hard work and care they've put into it. It's really cool."

Jason Gerhardt (By Zen Todd)
When Rick Springfield (Dr. Noah Drake, GH) told Julie Clark Robinson (GH and B&B Editor) “I get some pretty cool stuff from Japan.” The coolest, however, came from an American girl. She made a paper mache model of his dogs – a pit bull mix, the B&W bull terrier (from one of his album covers), and a pug! "Very creative," he says with pride!

Jason Gerhardt (Cooper Barrett) recently spoke with Julie Clark Robinson, who asked him what the nicest item was that he received from a fan and Jason's humor shone as he said, "As of right now, an incredibly, and creatively, decorated envelope. Wait, does chocolate chip banana bread from Mom count?!"

Misti Sandefur (ex-Editor ATWT) asked Terri Columbino what she thought was the nicest item she had received from a fan. Terri says, "I get so many nice things, but I think what sticks out the most is when I was pregnant with Julia, and so many people at the fan club luncheon brought me gifts that were knitted. One woman had knitted a beautiful sweater and hat for her. I mean, really beautiful, well thought out, and time consuming gifts that really mean a lot."

We think it's really sweet that fans care enough to be so giving. Have you ever given a soap star a gift? If so, care to share with us what it was, who you gave it to, and their reaction?

Great article but the picture with Terri Columbino is with Mark Collier (Ex-Mike Kasnoff) not Paul Leyden (Ex-Simon).

Ooops, you're right. Sorry about that. I'll make the change!
