Ward Costello as General Rogers in Firefox. (ABC)
Sadly, actor Ward Costello recently passed away on June 4 after problems resulting from a stroke in Redlands, California.

During his eighty-nine years, Ward was well-known for such hits as "The Streets of San Francisco," where he played Capt. Roy Devitt, "Barnaby Jones," as Charles Markwell, "Firefox" playing General Rogers, as well as the soap operas "The Secret Storm" (Peter Ames, 1964 – 1966), "Edge of Night" (Jack Berman) and General Hospital (Senator Martin Drake, 1981 – 1989).

Though this is just a short list of Ward's credits, he also was awarded five medals while serving in the British Royal Air Force and the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, worked as a foreign news editor for CBS, was a writer for various newspapers and magazines then went on to study at Yale School of Drama, as well as the Old Vic and University of Birmingham in England.

Soaps.com wants to send our sympathies to Ward's wife, children, family and friends.
