We are sad to report that soap opera veteran actress Irene Dailey passed away from colon cancer on September 24, 2008 at the age of eighty-eight in Santa Rosa, California and wanted to take a moment to remember the wonderful actress.

Having made her home in Guerneville, California, Irene had many impressive credits to her name and can be remembered by longtime soap fans from her roles as Liz Matthews on "Another World," to which she won the 1979 Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Leading Actress category, Annie Cloyne in "The Nurses," as well as Pamela Stewart in "The Edge of Night" in 1969.

Soaps.com wants to sends our deepest condolences to Irene's family and friends. She's a true gem in the industry, one who will never be forgotten.

I remember her from when I watched Another World with my mom. Very sad that she's gone.

It's always sad to hear when one of favourites has passed away. I remember Irene Dailey well on Another World. My condolences go out to her family. She was much loved.

I remember Irene Daily as Liz Matthews on Another World. She was a great actress and will surely be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with her family in their time of need. My deepest condolences.
