Presented by Travolta Family Entertainment, The Golden Icon Awards have just announced their winners for this year's awards, which celebrate the year ending December 2007!

Since 1993, the awards have been given out by Travolta Family Entertainment and have succeeded in highlighting some of the best accomplishments in the entertainment, fashion, and leisure industries. It wasn't long ago when daytime was added as a category for the 2005-2006 awards.

Without further ado, the daytime winners for this year's awards go as follows…

Golden Icon for Best Soap Opera:

Guiding Light - This is the show's very first Golden Icon award in this category!


Golden Icon for Best Writing Team:

Guiding Light's team headed by David Kreizman!


Golden Icon for Best Actor:

The Young and the Restless' Peter Bergman (Jack)


Golden Icon for Best Actress:

Guiding Light's Nicole Forester (Cassie)


Golden Icon for Best Reality Internet Series:

As the World Turns' INTURN

Seeing this about Guiding Light and suffering through the writing at Young and the Restless makes me think it is time for a channel change in my life.

Peter deserved his award. I like to see that! I disagree with Guiding Light for best writing and Nicole Forrester. While I like her, there were others that I thought had better storylines dictated to them and their acting was even better.

How come people like Marj Dusay and the one who plays Dorian from OLTL don't get awards?
