The barbecue continues, Natalia leaves and Hawk spends some time with his daughter.
At home, Mallet and Marina are getting ready for the barbecue. She tries to reassure him that he is a great dad even if he isn't a biological dad.
Shayne shows up at Cross Creek and begins arguing with his mother about the barbecue. She tells him that Hawk is on the way. Eventually, she chases her son out. Once he's gone, she hugs a picture of Jeffrey. When she walks outside, she angrily throws it away and tears the flags off her house. She ties them back up just as Hawk arrives. When he asks about Jeffrey, she blows up at him but he promises to stay quiet. As they cook a chicken, Josh drives by and waves.
As Reva and her father watch the game, they stand and sing the anthem, bursting into tears.
Matt and Josh arrive at the barbecue as Rick and Blake argue about chicken. Rick starts talking about how much he needs a wife and tells them Olivia's been checking him out all day. As he walks over to her, he gets hit with a frisbee.
Across the lawn, James snubs his father and walks away. Phillip tells Lillian that he needs to convince his son that he loves him but he's running out of time. Beth joins him and they watch the children play while Buzz and Lillian slip into the bushes to make out. Alan arrives and wanders over to Buzz's table.
At church, Natalia lights a candle. She tells Father Ray that she doesn't know what to do. He suggests that she go to a retreat. She can't believe this is happening now and doesn't want to run away. He thinks that she's anxious about leaving because she's afraid her feelings for Olivia will change if she is alone. She goes outside and sits on the steps. Blake runs into her and Nat lists all of her problems before announcing that she is leaving town. Before she can walk away, Blake stops her. Nat is too ashamed to talk to Frank or Olivia. Blake gets a call from Olivia, looking for Natalia.
When Nat goes home, she runs into her son. He tells her that he was at the barbecue but he couldn't deal with the chance of seeing her with Olivia. He's still confused. "That makes two of us," she says. She goes inside and packs her bag. Her son tells her that what she has taught him all of his life has been hard to live up to, but he's still needed those beliefs. He's just afraid that he has disappointed her.
Remy's car breaks down so he, Christina, and his sisters have to get a ride with Cyrus. Mel can hardly recognize him with his clothes on.
The Boudreaus and Cyrus arrive at the picnic. Leah puts a chef's hat on Rick. Mel cringes as Rick walks toward her. She cozies up to Cyrus and then leaves with him to play croquet.
Father Ray arrives and hugs Michelle and Danny. Shayne arrives. He and Remy drink and talk about Dinah. Everyone gathers together for the three legged race. Alan is smug when he sees that Phillip and James lost. Emma drifts over to her mother, wishing Natalia had been there so she could have raced with her.
Olivia sadly tells Josh that she wanted today to be perfect, but Natalia's not there. Josh tells her not to give up hope. She hides under a picnic blanket. After she climbs out, Blake arrives and tells her that Nat isn't coming and doesn't want to see her right now. "I'm really sorry," Blake says. Olivia runs through the woods before stopping and falling on her knees to cry.
Inside the house, Rick steals some pie as he and Michelle talk about the family legacy and how proud they are.
Outside, Danny sits with Marina and tells her about things in California. He doesn't miss Springfield; he needed to start over.
At the beer table, Mallet tells Shayne that he knows he is Henry's father, but he still loves the boy and feels blessed to be his dad. He just doesn't want things to get weird between them. Shayne's cold to him. He walks away and Remy approaches him. He confesses that he helped Dinah get the DNA for the paternity test. Shayne insists that everyone is where they are supposed to be and claims this isn't hard for him.
Phillip thanks Daisy for bringing James. She tells him that James does what he wants. As she walks away, James lays into him for trying to use her to manipulate him.
Rick is called up to make his special speech. He's finally realized that he is one of the grown-ups. He talks about his grandma and how blessed they are to live in America. "I feel very blessed. Thanks Grandma," he says. Phillip comes up next and tells everyone how lucky he has been to spend time with them and wishes it could go on forever. Beth is next. She wishes everyone was lucky enough to live in a town where people help each other the way they do. After everyone toasts, Lillian asks Phillip if the day was everything he wanted. It was, but he wants to soak it in and pretend it will never end.
Blake drives out to Natalia's and asks her if she's sure about leaving. Nat is. They pack.
