Nobody's pet. Tuesday, September 30 2008

Lizzie and Bill play off their jealousy, Alan recovers and Cyrus and Cassie have a 'non-date'.

At Cedars, Beth pressures Alan to eat some pudding. She urges him to get better. He just wants out and away from Rick. She's sure Rick wants what's best for him. He has work to do, he says. She's glad to hear that after his strange behavior over the past few months. His vision was clouded, he admits, but now he's back. He asks her if he's missed much. She tells him that Peyton has had her first steps and that her law classes are going well. Alan admits that he's tired and tells her that she should go.

Beth walks out and talks to Alex. "This is the best it's been in months," Alex says, sure that things are getting better for her brother. She even brought a photo album to show him. Rick advises her not to show him any pictures of Gus. They go in to visit. Alex hands him the album. He seems touched to see Lizzie, one of the only members of his family who didn't want him to die, he jokes. They talk about how much he loves Lizzie and how much she needs him. Later, Alan asks her if he was really 'that absent' before he had the surgery. She tells him that he had lost faith in his own judgment and became reliant on 'other things'. He thinks he should learn to rely on Lizzie now and asks her to get her.

Mallet arrives at Harley's and finds Marina looking after Peyton. She asks him to look after the baby for a minute while she runs off to take care of something. He says that will be a piece of cake. She leaves him with the 'baby safety list' for most of the afternoon. Mallet goes through it and begins fixing Peyton's toys. After he and the baby play, he falls asleep. Marina soon returns and he wakes up. She sends him off to buy batteries.

Cassie walks outside and finds Cyrus cleaning his tools. They banter until Josh calls to tell her that he's found Shayne. Cyrus tells her that he'll work on the garage door tomorrow. "What are you doing today?" she asks. He thinks she's asking him out. She claims she isn't but she has nothing else to do tonight. RJ is at a friend's and she doesn't want to spend her evening alone in an empty house. She repeats that this is not a date, just a 'trashing' session where they can complain about the people who annoy them.

Grady and Lizzie sit at the bar in Towers. She wants to hire him again, but she's not looking for a gigolo. She'd rather have bugs in her bed than him. He agrees to her offer. She walks off and Dinah pops up. He tells her that he and Lizzie are playing a game. She hands him some cash. He pockets it and smirks. Meanwhile, Lizzie is in the elevator on the phone trying to track down Bill and Susie. She has no luck. She calls a gossip mag next and tells them to send a paparazzo down. Returning to Grady, she tells him to get close. He finds her plan convoluted. She reminds him that she is paying him to flirt 'without touching'. He puts their drinks on her tab and suggests they leave. As they go, a photographer begins snapping shots of them. Grady attacks him, grabbing the camera away despite Lizzie's protests. Cyrus and Cassie walk in while the struggle occurs. Cassie and Cyrus quickly duck out. Lizzie pays for the broken camera.

Bill paces around the mansion when Susie comes down wearing one of Lizzie's outfits. He's impressed and calls Alex to ask her to send Lizzie over. Alex tells him that Lizzie is off on a 'hot date' and advises him not to wait up. Later, as he and Susie eat, she makes a pass at him. He fumbles with his phone. She tells him they could be having a 'hot date' too if he would let it happen. She begins massaging him when Dinah walks in. He sends Susie upstairs to warm up the tub. "She's a nice girl," Dinah smirks. He wonders what his sister wants. She wants him to be happy. "Cut the crap," he says. She tells him that Lizzie has just been spotted at Towers with a 'hot Aussie'. Bill shrugs. Dinah leaves. Bill calls up to Susie to announce that they are going out.

After Lizzie ditches Grady at Towers, her mother calls her to say that Alan wants to see her. Meanwhile, Dinah arrives and tears into Grady for messing up with Lizzie. Bill and Susie arrive. She flirts with him some more. Seeing that Lizzie is gone, he hands her some cash and tells her to go home. "Find yourself another physical therapist," she says, turning down his money. He props up at the bar and orders a drink. Grady sits down beside him and they quickly begin taunting each other. Bill accuses him of being no more than a 'pet'. Grady grimaces and walks off.

Dinah returns to her room. As she lays on the bed, Grady arrives, he doesn't want to talk about what's happened. He pulls her into a kiss and tells her that he will never be anyone's 'pet'.

Cyrus sneaks Cassie into the TV station so they can eat their takeout and watch the news. Afterwards, he walks her home. She had a good time. They end their time awkwardly with a handshake.

Lizzie arrives at Cedars to visit her grandfather. She tells him that she is working hard at the company. He's proud of her. She tells them how much they need each other. He smiles and hugs her. She gives him the details about her new business arrangement with Bill. She admits that she loves Bill and wants to share her life with him.

Next on Guiding Light:

Lizzie knows that Alan wants back in the game but isn't ready.

Bill continues with his old tricks.

Alan doesn't trust Bill and escapes from Cedars.
