Old man! Wake up!

Monday, September 22 2008
Alan wakes up from his coma, Olivia and Remy return without Ava, Natalia looks for new ways to pay for Rafe's lawyer.

At Company, Frank is looking after the place while Buzz is off. He runs into Natalia. She tells him that she only has two jobs now. As she looks through the want ads, she wonders about going to work at a 'gentleman's club'. Frank claims he's never been to one... or, only on police business. She asks him if she'd be pretty enough. "No!" he snaps before correcting himself and telling her that she is too beautiful to be a cocktail waitress in a strip joint. She wonders how she will pay her bills then... "Work here," he offers. She jumps up and gives him a hug before leaving to get ready to see her son. When she gets up to her room, she searches through the yellow pages for a rental car. She has no luck since she only has cash and credit card.

Remy and Olivia arrive at Company and slump at the bar. Sadly, they tell Frank that Ava didn't want to come back. She's done with Springfield for good. Frank offers them some chili to cheer them up. They turn it down. Olivia explains that her daughter got over her depression, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was to blame and couldn't face returning. Remy is frustrated. Olivia tells him to back off and leave things alone. He stomps away. Olivia explains that Ava has signed her annulment papers to Bill and made it clear that she doesn't want to be with Remy. She will be returning to the town she grew up in.

At Cedars, Bill bumps into Lizzie and tells her that Alan's machines have started going off. "What did you do to him?" she asks before rushing in to see Alan. Rick and a nurse hurry in and Bill explains what happened. Rick starts ordering new vitals so he can figure out what's going on. Lizzie knows Alan won't be pleased to know he's there. He doesn't have much choice though. Rick orders Bill to take Lizzie out. In the corridor, they find Beth and Alexandra. Bill explains that they aren't sure what's happening. Alex is sure that any brain activity must be good. Lizzie worries that Alan's brain may be shutting down and cries into her mother's shoulder.

They wait in the corridor. Alex asks Beth if Lillian should bring all of the children there... just in case. Beth says it's still too early. They put on a brave face. Meanwhile, Lizzie apologizes to Bill for saying that this is his fault. He admits that he was venting at Alan. Rick comes out and announces that Alan is not in crisis; he's fighting to wake up and should soon be ready. Lizzie smiles. Bill seems uncomfortable. Alex worries about letting Rick look after Alan. He says that Alan is now breathing on his own. Alex runs in to see her brother. She promises him that she is on top of things and tells him that everyone is there for him. She's proud of Lizzie and everything that she's accomplished, but she still needs his guidance, especially regarding Bill. "We really need you. The whole family needs you," she says, offering to slap him silly if it will help. "I don't know what I would do without you," she admits. Outside, Rick tells the family that the specialist is on the way and they have to keep their eyes on Alan.

Natalia runs into Olivia at The Beacon. Olivia quickly tells her that Ava is not coming back but she doesn't want to talk about it. They begin arguing and Olivia finds out that Natalia's car is in the shop and she can't get it out and can't rent a car so she can't see her son. Olivia offers to drive her to see Rafe. Natalia turns her down and apologizes. Olivia tells her to forget it; she needs to do something so she offers again to drive her.

Remy arrives at Towers and sits with his mother. He hands her her car keys. She thought it was stolen and Clayton almost went crazy. He apologizes. She tells him to ask in the future and then asks about Ava. He had everything planned out... but it's gone wrong. Beyond that, he doesn't want to talk about it. She invites him to Sunday dinner. When he leaves, he gets a call about another poker game.

Natalia and Olivia wait at the prison. Rafe is brought in with a black eye. Natalia demands to know what happened. Rafe won't answer. Olivia snaps and tells him to show his mother some respect. He doesn't want her to worry but admits that things can get scary. Natalia tells him about the lawyer they got him. The guard announces that time is up. She tells her son to be careful. He's sure that Gus will look out for him. He's taken away. Olivia wonders if he still believes in Alan's visions. Natalia still hasn't told him about Alan's problems. As for herself, she just believes in God now. She decides it's time to go and see Rafe's attorney.

Remy returns to Company and orders some chili. Frank tells him a shady character was looking for him. Remy's not interested. Frank asks him to keep an eye out while he deals with the plumber out back. As soon as Frank walks off, a woman begins screaming, "My water just broke!" Felecia arrives and helps her son as the woman goes into labor on the floor. She calls Cedars while he prepares the woman for the birth. A stunned Frank walks in as the baby comes out. Remy hands the newborn to his mother and says that he's a boy. She cries and asks Remy his name. He holds back his tears and he watches her cradling the child.

Back at Cedars, Rick walks into Alan's room. "Old man! Wake up!" he yells, explaining that Alan needs people yelling to wake him up. Everyone begins yelling things until his foot twitches. They keep yelling until his fingers move. When his eyes open, he can't speak. Rick takes Beth and Alex into the hall. He tells them that something is wrong but the surgeons will be there soon to deal with this. Alex snipes at him and walks off. Beth asks Rick how bad it is. He doesn't know. She thanks him for being there. Meanwhile, Lizzie tells Bill he doesn't need to be there. He's not leaving. Alan stares at them. As she talks to him, he raises his hand and makes a writing gesture. She hands him a paper and a pen. He writes: "Who are you?"

Natalia meets Vince Russo at Towers. He finishes a martini and offers her one. She makes it clear to him that she doesn't make the kind of money that Olivia does and wonders if there is some way they can cut the cost, like doing office work for him. "I'm sure we can work out an arrangement," he says, putting his hand on her and smiling. She's not smiling back.

Monday's epi:
1. My dream has come true - Alan is awake.
2. My nightmare is still there - Lizzie and Bill.
3. Maybe Olivia and Nat will become friends - No way.
4. Remy oh Remy - what are the writers doing to you?
5. At least he was on the show and delivered a baby.
6. How long is Rafe's eye going to be black?
7. Confused about Rick - why doesn't he know anything?
8. Is Alan faking?

Hi: GLandWT, mom6, Sunflower23, Julien

Hi 3Puppies,
I think Alan is faking. I believe Alan heard and understood every word Bill said to him. No way will Alan let Bill take over Spalding. I was a little puzzled to see no bandage around his head, only 2 monitor wires. Also, why would a non-family member (Bill) be allowed to visit someone (Alan) who is in intensive care in a coma? Furthermore, where were the nurses? What took them so long to get to Alan? Never fear, Dr. Rick is here!

3Puppies, Mom6, this is going to be my last post for a while. I will be very busy for the next few weeks - getting ready for training for the election in November. I will miss you guys and I will try to read your posts as often as time will allow. When the election is over and I have gotten a little rest, I hope to return to posting. Take care.

Alan is faking. I saw the way he was looking at Bill and what Bill was doing to get his goat. They either need to do more of a sl w/ Remy or let him go. Sometimes I think they use Remy Marina and Mallet as a filler for the show the who care stories one night stands. I still think they could possible try to put Rafe and Olivia together as sick as it sounds. But they put Marina and Mallett together.

GLandWT
Sounds exciting have fun! We’ll read you later.
Hi 3 pupps
Can’t stand the bill Lizzie fighting anymore, the company is not worth it. I hope Alan is not faking.

Reva needs to be on everyday. Where did she go?

Posted by 3Puppies at Monday, September 22 2008 02:49 PM

Julien:
I kind of thought Alan knew exactly what was being said. I think he will play this "don't know anyone" role until he can bury Bill. Bill will talk in front of Alan thinking he doesn't know what is going on BUT look out, Alan is back!!

mom6,
I am waiting patiently for the return of Reva. I miss the old days of Reva being on all the time. She is my favorite.
Isn't she on vacation?
