September in Kabul.

Reva panics when Shayne goes missing, Ava isn't coming back, Cyrus is arrested.

Cyrus shows up at Cassie's door after RJ leaves. She wonders what was wrong with their goodbye. He tells her that Grady has hooked up with Dinah and is only interested in making a quick buck, not seeking revenge so he'll be sticking around. She thinks he's delirious. He joins her for a meal. She tells him she will never forgive Grady, but knows that Tammy wouldn't want her to be angry forever. She's glad that Grady is moving on... maybe now she can take the gun out from under her mattress, she jokes. He remarks on how tired she looks. Her neighbor has been making a lot of noise with his sound system and it's been keeping her up at night. Before he can leave, she asks him to take a look at her garage door... if he's sticking around. He says that he is and it's not for Harley.

Cyrus returns home and digs up his lock breaking kit and a worker's outfit. He goes to Cassie's neighbor's house and tampers with their electric box before breaking in. He steals their stereo and runs off.

Frank shows up at Cassie's. For a second, she mistakes him for Cyrus. Frank is slightly disturbed; he thought Cyrus was leaving town. She informs him that he and his brother aren't going. He worries and thinks that getting friendly with Cyrus is a strange move for her. She insists that Cyrus and Grady are only brothers and nothing alike.

A breathless Cyrus returns to Cassie's. He asks her if she goes into the barn much and warns her that there may be snakes in there. He goes home and flops on his couch. As he looks through his bag, he notices that his lock kit is missing. Meanwhile, Cassie discovers it on her carpet. Frank shows up on Cyrus' doorstep and arrests him for the break-in at the house beside Cassie's. "I've got an eyewitness that can place you at the scene of the crime," he says.

Remy runs into his father at Cedars. Clayton invites him to lunch with Mel but Remy needs to work. His father worries that he is working too much. Remy runs off, telling him they can have lunch with Ava next week.

At home, Olivia is disturbed when Ava's doctor tells her that she will be released but she won't be returning to Springfield. Jeffrey calls his daughter and leaves a message, telling her that they miss her. Olivia points out that she's already left her messages. She looks through the wedding photos he was going to give Ava and begins teasing him. He doesn't think he should be leaving on a honeymoon now. "I can't understand why our daughter isn't coming home," Olivia repeats as he steps out. Remy happens to be standing in the doorway and hears this. He demands an explanation. Olivia explains: "Ava's not coming back because of you." He and Olivia quickly begin to yell at each other. Angry and confused, he runs off and she begins to cry.

At Cross Creek, Reva talks to Josh through her computer. He informs her that Shayne has gone missing. He explains that they were supposed to meet in Kabul but his messages stopped. Josh went to his camp to find him and discovered that he left and hasn't been heard from. He's already gone to the embassy and hired people to find him. Reva worries that her son is in a war zone. His video feed dies. Jeffrey walks in, announcing that they can't go anywhere because of a problem with Ava. She says that's alright: They can't go anyway because Shayne has gone missing. He tells her to sit down. She wants to get on a plane. She's just not sure what to pack for September in Kabul. His mouth hangs open; he can't believe she's saying this. He tells her that she's crazy to think she can go. She rants and worries. He calms her down and repeats that this is crazy. He knows she's worried but putting their baby at risk won't help Shayne. She's livid that he thinks she should stay there. Jeffrey says that her in a desert would not help anyone. This is her pattern, it's like she's going back to her old, impulsive, selfish, impractical self. If she went over there, it wouldn't be about Shayne, it would just be about her trying to avoid her new responsibilities. She annoyed and walks out.

Jeffrey goes outside and yells before wandering away. Reva goes back inside and paces as she waits for a cab. Billy arrives. Josh called him and told him what was happening. She rants at him about all of the things that Jeffrey accused her of. All of this somehow isn't in her nature, she says. He doesn't say anything. She storms off.

Remy finds his father at Towers. He asks for his help with Ava. He needs to see Ava and talk to her and asks his father for some money so he can rent a car to drive up. Clayton shakes his head and says this is a bad idea. He encourages him to let her parents look after her. He reminds him that he is already on probation for missing work and this could lead to him losing his job. If Remy won't look out for himself, he'll have to. Remy asks again but Clayton still refuses.

Remy finds Olivia at Company. She tells him to go away. He insists that he never pressured Ava into anything. When he would visit Ava, they would just sit and read. Olivia told Emma that her sister was coming back; now she won't be. Remy says that they should tag-team Ava; maybe together they can convince her to come back. "Okay," she agrees. He leaves to get some food together. Jeffery walks in and she tells him she's going. When he walks off, Reva rushes up to him and begins apologizing; she really needs to learn to listen to him. She just hates being analyzed and she hates it when he's blunt. He offers to go to Afghanistan and search for her son. She says that she and the baby need him more. A text message comes in from Josh: They've found Shayne and he is safe. Relived, they go inside and ask Olivia and Remy if they can go with them.

Next on Guiding Light:

Dinah and Grady learn that Cyrus has been arrested.

Frank wants Cyrus to get the harshest sentence possible.

Wow, someone should be fired. First that bit with Josh and that he is in Afghanistan with the nice little house with siding and even a FREAKING WHITE PICKET FENCE!!. Would it have been so hard to use a backdrop or even put him in a tent. That looks ridiculous.

Second, I just started laughing when Cassie began to complain about her neighbor's stereo equipment. That had just one minute earlier shown an establishing shot of the farm house. It was out in the middle of a large field with no neighbors!! No way she hears someone else's TV!!

Who is in charge over at GL?? director, writer, producer hell even a grip should have caught this stuff.

Good t0 see Reva back to being Reva for a few minutes. Just love that gal. Jeffery is still involved with Olivia even if he doesn't admit to it. He doesn't want to admit to it now. Reva going to Afhganistan was one of the dumbest s/l's so far. I understand the need to find your own son but Jeffery would have been the best choice. He offered but no cigar. I wonder what condition Shayne is in or was that just a p;ot to get Reva over there? Shayne wants Reva back with Josh. Olivia - she has got to go back to being big "O" and stop this whiney stuff. If Ava and Remy want to be together than so be it. Olivia move on. And, again a perfect day - NO G/D/R. What type of books is Cassie reading? Psyc or what? Nat needs to shape up and quite whining also. Get a job, move back into your house, and move on with your life. Gezzzz. There is one thing I would like to clear up - S/F is not a little hick town. Believe it or not they are 20th century people.

jbwbubba,
LOL!!
I DID notice the descrepancies in today's show. However, I am so use to seeing things that do not make sense that I don't comment on them anymore. However, I do agree today's boo boos were quite noticable.

Green screen! come on people! just go over to the news studio and have them put up some stock footage instead of the weather! But, actually there are some very normal looking houses in Afghanistan and desert? uh, try mountains, that's why the commies lost, the mujaheddin would just zip in and out of the terrain (oh and with a little help from Charlie too)

Josh's scene looked a lot like NY state in late summer to me. Guess they have spent so much on "renting" this little town that there is nothing left for sand. Reva, Reva - please talk to wardrobe. That outfit you have had on for 2 days is just plain tacky. Still love you though - you and Jeffrey are so great together, and Billy - even with no lines he is terrific.

Remy has to be the biggest loser in GL history. Have some pride boy and move on, right now you look pathetic like a sad excuse of a man. If Ava wanted to be with you she would have come home by now, she would be calling you. Take a hint loser and move on with your life and quit begging your daddy for money it just makes you look like an even bigger loser. I still don't see how he got his job back, who would hire a guy that doesn't show up for work, they didn't hesitate to fire Natalia when she was late.

I did not miss anything today. As I said yesterday the writers think we are so stuoid to believe that Josh was in Afhganistan. They could of put a little more effort in the background it is supose to be more of a real feel? I amsp disgusted w/ the way Oliva is going just a whiney frump.

Harsh ! Someone should be fired ? I do agree that the back drop for Afghanistan was off but ,is it just me ,or someone has entirely to much time on their hands! I love GL! jbwebubba let soaps be what they are-- a diversion from everyday life and try to enjoy !

Wow everyone is so excited about the background - my concern is (and yes I do realize this is soapland and their is no such thing as redtape), but I didn't realize we can just fly off to Afghanistan at the drop of a hat and don't need a visa. Don't you think more people would be flying over there to visit their GI's if that was the case. I don't think so. I can just see the immigration people if I said my son went missing and I want in the country. Yep. right!

If they still haven't found an actor for Shayne, my hope is that they will get Marty West back again. As the last actor to play Shayne...he is still in the right age group to return to the part. I thought he was wonderful.
As to Reva'a and her giddy 'I'm gonna be a mom!' story line. Sorry, really hard to swallow. It's almost as weird as the cloning story line. They had her playing herself as a teenager (pretty tough for a middle aged woman). Kim does give it her all...but, Reva's playful trouble maker side is a lot more believable that new mommy. It kinda creeps me out...and the new hairdo is the worst! Please give her something more sensible...her roles don't ALWAYS have to be such a stretch!
