About Nine Months.

Thursday, September 04 2008
Reva is pregnant, Harley isn't coming back, things get more complicated for Cassie and Cyrus.

Cassie packs RJ up for the first day of school. He's less excited than she is. She tells him that Josh would be there if he could be, but he's with Shayne. As they walk out the door, Cyrus appears, ready to work on the shutters. She sends RJ to the car and tells Cyrus that she wants him gone by the time she gets back. He thought they were starting over. She says that doesn't include her son. He points out that he was good with Harley's boys. That doesn't matter; he's the brother of the guy who killed RJ's sister. She tells him to leave.

Grady and Daisy swing in the park. She tells him how much fun she had at Reva's wedding. "It's good that I wasn't there," he grumbles. She says they didn't even mention him... maybe one day they can accept him. She hears the ice cream truck and runs off to get them some. Her phone rings. He picks it up. It's Rafe. Grady asks him how the food in prison is. Rafe is sure that Daisy will soon figure out Grady is playing her. He hangs up as she returns. As they sit on the swings, she tells him all about getting ice cream with her dad when she was a kid. He seems sad; he never had anything like that. "I can buy you all the ice cream you want," she promises.

Daisy and Grady go back to Marina's. They start making out when Buzz knocks at the door. She opens and he asks Grady to leave. After he walks away, Buzz tells Daisy that her mother called and needs to talk to her. Daisy soon guesses her mother is not returning. He explains that Harley needs a break. This seems wrong to Daisy; she abandoned the family, now she is going to take the boys to a foreign country and pick up with yet another man. She lists Harley's leap from lover to lover. Buzz points out that she's jumped between Rafe and Grady. "I'm 18! What's her excuse?" she asks. Buzz doesn't understand this either, he admits, shaking his head and walking out.

Cyrus finds his brother taping up his shoes in the hall. He tries to apologize to him. They bicker. Cyrus explains that he is still trying to make things right. Grady is sure that he's just doing all of this for Harley; he can't understand why he cares. "When a woman like that chooses you... it's the best thing I've ever had in my life," he says. It's something he has to hang on to. Grady returns to Daisy. She bursts into tears.

At Cedars, Jeffrey is having a hard time digesting the news that Reva is pregnant. Dr. Hendrix says that the blood test has made it clear. It's uncommon for a woman Reva's age, but not impossible. Jeffrey stumbles out of the room to look for Reva. He sits in the waiting room when a worried Billy rushes in searching for news. Jeffrey can't even talk. He runs off.

Reva has slipped away to Company. She shouts for Buzz, waking him up and ordering a drink. She needs some courage. Before he can pour her some, he gets a call. Walking outside, he briefly talks to Harley. Getting off the phone, he nearly falls over. Cassie arrives and catches him. He tells her that Harley has a job and is staying in Greece; the boys will be going to live with her. He adds that she's found another man. Cassie wants to talk to her. Buzz drifts away.

Back inside, Reva sees Buzz drift off so she gets behind the bar herself. She pours a drink. Before she can down it, Jeffrey pops up and stops her. He drinks it and sighs. She rambles and worries. "How long do I have?" she asks. "About nine months," he says. She runs outside. He chases her across the park until she stops. She rants and asks him what could be worse than her cancer returning. "You're pregnant," he says. She bursts out in laughter. "I'm not kidding," he says, repeating that the cancer is gone and she is pregnant. She's relieved but shocked, especially since she's in menopause. He takes her hand and leads her back to the doctor.

They return to Cross Creek after seeing the doctor. Jeffrey gets her some tea while she runs over the explanation in her mind. The drugs she was on worked as a fertility drug, at least enough to allow her to ovulate once. She's been pregnant for three months. Reva remembers that she's felt nauseous and tired but thought that was just wedding jitters. The doctor told her how amazing this is but warned that there are great risks involved for her and the baby. Miscarriage and birth defects are likely and she would also have to stop taking many of her cancer drugs. This, coupled with raging hormones, could cause the cancer to return. Reva worries that everything is different now, but she doesn't want to give up on her honeymoon, not for anything. Jeffrey asks her if she's okay. "Sure!" she claims, throwing her arms around him.

Cassie returns home and discovers Cyrus fixing her sink. She tells him to stop: Buzz just got a phone call from Harley. Cassie hates to tell him this, but Harley is not coming home. He's baffled. She informs him that Harley already has a new guy. He stands up and begins shaking his head and throwing everything back under the sink. Cassie rambles; even she didn't think that Cyrus deserved this. She offers him a drink. "I don't want anything from you. I'm done here," he snaps, walking out.

Grady and Daisy go back to Harley's. She tells him how much it hurts that her mother has abandoned her yet again. "Screw her. You're better off without her," he says. He'll be there for her now... just like when they first met. They begin to kiss and she pulls off his shirt. After sex, she gets dressed and wants to go. She needs to try and understand what's happening with her mom. He offers to help, but she can only do this with her family, she insists, walking away. She heads over to Company and asks Buzz to ask Natalia to let her see Rafe. Grady has trailed her and eavesdrops.

Cassie goes to The Beacon to do some work in her office. Cyrus knocks on the door. When she opens, he pulls her into a kiss without saying a word.

Mixed emotions about today's show. Will try to identify my feelings:
1. Why do the writers want to have a s/l about another baby?
2. I hope they are not going into the abortion s/l.
3. They have covered many controversial subjects BUT....
4. Can Daisy and Grady please keep their clothes on.
5. Looks like Harley might be recast. Or at least the
door is open for a recast.
6. What was Cassie's purpose on the show today?
7. We haven't seen RJ for a long time and what was the
time period he was on......4 seconds?
8. Did anyone else think Jeffery looked disappointed
rather than shocked? Wouldn't blame him.
9. Are prisoners allowed a phone call that long?
10. Can't stand Grady>>>>>>>kill him off.
11. Why or why are the s/l's getting so bad?

I like the Reva pregnancy. I hope they can have a healthy baby (and live to take care of it). I think this is a real and touching storyline if done tactfully. Please, writers, don't rush the storyline...just let it build for us and do it tactfully.

I also like Grady and Daisy.

I don't care for Cassie (funny, I liked the character when Laura Wright played her) so I really can't invest in her relationships. Cyrus is cute and needs a love interest I guess.

The writers could do more with Lizzie---how about a college degree or some skills to get a real job? Lizzie needs to quit whining about Sarah. I don't dislike Bill nearly as much as most of the boardmembers here. He's got the bloodline to be the bigwig in town. Give him a good storyline!

I also like Lillian and Buzz and I like Marina with Mallet.

I very much disliked Mallet with Dinah. I'm pretty much burned out on Dinah over the years. She needs to follow Harley to Greece or somewhere. Maybe just kidnap Cyrus to go along with her.

3Puppies, I also have mixed emotions about today's episode. One concern I have is why do this to Jeffrey. He just lost a grandchild not more than 2 months ago and the odds of Reva having a healthy baby is so grim. I know Reva is a good actress and if anyone can play this role, it's her; however, I don't want to see GL do another abortion s/l, nor do I want to see Reva deal with another life threating ordeal.

I thought Jeffrey was hillarious when he told Reva not to drink and he took the drink instead, and another....

From the look on Buzz's face, you'd thought Harley was dead. I am all for a recasting of Harley.

Grady freaks me out. Why is he answering Daisy phone anyway? I can't believe a hit man/drug pusher/muderer would be that insecure about an eighteen year old. Surely she isn't his first love! There's a rumor going around that "GL fires actor". I sure am hoping it's Grady, (wishful thinking). I guess I will have to wait and see.

GLandWT, when Daisy was in school didn't she have an OLDER man that she was dating? I swear I remember something like that. And, didn't the older man turn out to be Grady? Now all of a sudden Grady is only 23. And if Daisy is 18 now -- how did Daisy catch up to Grady? I definitely do not like them together. I cannot see Reva being able to conceive and carry a child 9 months. If she gives up her meds for cancer then what? Poor Jeffery. I still want Jeffery to turn out to be Richard. But, I guess that isn't going to happen. Now we have to wait until Monday to find out what's next.

Posted by GLandWT at Thursday, September 04 2008 02:34 PM

3Puppies, you are correct about Daisy being involved with an older guy. Harley told her that "G" was almost her(Harley) age. I do not like Grady and Daisy together either. I wouldn't be surprised if she comes up pregnant; in the midst of her disappointment that Harley isn't coming home.

I am with you on wishing Jeffrey would turn out to be Richard, but GL doesn't agree with us. Can't blame us for hoping - one day, who knows...

The doctor says that Reva is three months pregnant. It would be nice to have Jeffrey raise a "healthy" baby of his own. The new writing team should be in place very soon and maybe GL will come up with a miracle for both Reva and baby (free of any deformities). I hope they don't abort.

Holly wasn't nearly as old as Reva is when she gave bith to a Down's Syndrone baby. Have a great week end.

Why is Friday's show pre-empted?
How long does the whole process of menopause last., The writers had Reva going through menopause back like 2 years ago when Jonathan was still on the show as a regular. Please Reva Pregnant in her 50's. She has a granddaughter., and Jeffrey had a grandson. My youngest child is 6 years old, when I got pregnant with him I was 37, one of the first things the doctor said to me that a get genetic testing and genetic counseling. I wonder if the writers are going that way too. I guess its safe to say that the Josh/Reva s/l is over, well that makes me sad somewhat.
And That Grady well he gets on my nerves, does this person even work. Where does he get spending money from or where does he live, is it rent free. I cant stand how he is always playing with his hair, like some girl. How did he only do a day or so in jail for murder, and Rafe is still in jail?
Hi 3 Puppies....

Can someone tell me how to e-mail GL and tell them this new show sucks!! I have been a fan for almost 20 years now and I find my self now watching General Hospital instead. The wedding yesterday... STUPID!! It's all too fake, too many mistakes.

Jeffrey was so loving and tender with Max. It would be more than wonderful if he and Reva could have a healthy baby (& even if the baby is challenged...they can still love and be loved...not such a tragity.
I am on record for saying: My bet is that Reva will choose to have this baby and hope that the complications will pass w/out resulting in her or the baby's death.
I also believe that Jeffrey is keeping his emotions close to his chest. When the shock wears off, he will want this baby....(this would be his 1st and only baby...Ava came late in life and all grown up) but not at the risk of losing Reva. I think he will leave this decision to Reva because it will be her health that could be endangered. I love Jeffrey...my favorite. This is a marvelous s/l for him.
