Lizzie finds out what's wrong with Alan, Rafe returns, Grady looks for a way to change his life.

Grady approaches Olivia on the street and tries to explain the job he botched for her before. She doesn't want to remember the time she hired him to "take care" of Ava. He asks her for a legitimate job. She turns him down flat. He pleads. She doesn't think he wants a job cleaning toilets for minimum wage. "Better than prison," he says. She's skeptical and walks away. He runs after her and begs for a chance, pointing out that she is less than perfect herself. He asks her if she really deserves her new heart. She points out that Cassie co-owns the hotel and wouldn't want him there.

At the Beacon, Daisy opens the door of Marina's room and is shocked to find Rafe standing there. He apologizes. She's overwhelmed. They embrace. He explains that he had to sneak away from her mother or he could have never come back. She tells him that she dreamed about him while he was gone. He's sorry for shutting her out in the past. If he had let her in, maybe things could have gone differently. He hands her a necklace which she quickly puts on. He tells her she's beautiful. Grady walks in and is shocked to see Rafe there. Daisy explains who he is and then explains who Grady is to Rafe. He asks if Grady is stalking her. "It's not called stalking if you're sleeping with her," Grady crudely explains. Rafe threatens to call Frank about Grady. The Australian explains that Daisy helped him get off. They bicker. Grady reminds him that he's not the one looking at ten to twenty. Daisy stays between the men as they spar. A knock comes at the door. Rafe hides. A security guard pokes his head in and asks if everything is okay; there was a report of yelling. She claims they were just watching a movie. He looks around and then leaves. Daisy tells Grady that this doesn't have to change anything. Later, they sit and he can't stop talking about Rafe. He worries that she is still into him. She explains that she still cares about him but her relationship with him is in the past. He wants to leave. She holds him and asks him to stay; she took the stand for him and wants to be alone with him. "I'm tired," he says as he kisses her cheek and walks out.

Alan goes to visit Natalia at her apartment. She worries about her son. He assures her that everything will be alright and he will be back home soon. She doubts it. Gus has come through for him and will come through for her too, he promises. She shows him a picture Rafe drew of her when he was little. He asks her to come out and eat with him. They have a picnic by the water. He tells her that she is one of the few genuinely honest people he knows; he only wishes he could give her proof that Rafe is coming back. "Then it wouldn't be faith," she says. Tired, she lays down and he promises Gus that he will look after her. Natalia wakes from a nap and asks him about his visions. She tells him of her dreams about Gus and how jealous she is that he can still see him. Alan explains that he only hears him and senses his presence. "Sounds beautiful," she says.

Lizzie is on the phone with Jeffrey's office, promising that she hasn't changed her mind about testifying. Rick calls next with some of Alan's results. He tells her that they need to swing by the hospital as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Bill instructs his head of staff to keep an eye out for the person leaking information to Alan. He gets a call from Lizzie asking him to meet her at Cedars.

Bill and Lizzie meet Rick at Cedars to fill in the details of what's been going on with Alan. Rick explains that they've found a blood clot in Alan's brain. He has temporal lobe epilepsy and the visions he's been having are common for people with this condition. If the blood clot shifts, however, he could die. He asks her to convince him to come back to the hospital immediately. She's sure he won't listen to her. They don't have time to wait, he insists. She bursts into tears. Her phone rings: It's Jeffrey and she won't pick up. Bill tells her that she still has to try and get her daughter back. She can't understand why Bill is even here. She wants to put Jeffrey off until she finds out for sure what's wrong with Alan.

Lizzie tracks Alan down while he is in the middle of a meeting at Towers. She asks him to talk. He steps away from the table. She worries about his health and tells him he is sick. "There's something wrong with your brain," she explains. He doesn't believe her. She insists she is trying to help. He still refuses to listen. She tells him not to die and leave her mother, James and Peyton alone.

Bill is surprised to find Olivia at the mansion. She is only there to see the memorial for Max. She says that Ava hasn't gotten over the loss yet. Bill doesn't know how anyone can deal with it. She tells him that faith is the only thing that's gotten her through the past few weeks. She's not talking about God, but about Gus. She tries not to believe, but Alan seems so sure... He asks her how she would react if there was an explanation for Alan's visions. She says that even if they aren't real, she would still be grateful for them because she needs to believe in something. His phone rings: It's Lizzie. He tells Olivia that she can let herself out and leaves.

Lizzie thumps into Company. She tells Bill that Alan is too paranoid to believe her. She worries about what could happen if she can't get him to go back to the hospital. He offers his help. He can't help. She doesn't know where to go. He invites her back to his house. "This is a bad idea Lewis," she says. He insists it will only be until she decides what she is going to do. She rolls her eyes and agrees as long as Roxie gets her old room. They go back to the mansion and he shows her to her room. As she settles in, she peers through the door and watches Bill on the phone, using Alan's sickness as leverage with clients he's talked to. She grabs her things and walks out. He runs after her but it's too late.

Rafe finds Alan in the park. They embrace and catch up. Alan is thrilled to see him and tells him that his mother needs him. After a few jubilant moments, Rafe returns to the boarding house. His mother runs into his arms.
