I can Crush Anyone.

Tuesday, August 12 2008
Alan reaches out to Dinah, Bill's parents try to comfort him, Mallet and Marina have a fight.

Bill is pacing around his office talking to himself and trying to drop papers into the garbage. He begins babbling on the phone until his father arrives. He asks his son out to lunch and warns him not to work so hard. Bill insists that work is good for him. "It's okay to grieve," Billy advises, urging his son to stop avoiding. Bill avoids talking about this and his father leaves. He stares down at Max's hospital bracelet sadly. Dinah barges in and lashes out at her brother for taking away her parking space, locking her out and leaving her in jail. He apologizes, claiming that he was grieving and needed to hate someone. But he's finished blaming her and won't be pressing charges. He reserves a table at Towers so they can talk over lunch and he explains that he had her arrested for her own good. "You know, my dad used to say that whenever anyone tells you they're doing something for your own good, they're not," she says.

Bill and Dinah sit at Towers. He grumbles over the menu. She wants to talk and suggests that he is trying to punish her. She promises she is trying to change. He's sure she'll always be erratic and he is just trying to change their situation. She reminds him that the house is in her name. He points out that he tricked her into signing her power of attorney to him and he has taken over everything. "I went toe to toe with Alan," she says. He tells her that she needs to support him. She's furious.

At home, Lizzie sorts through the laundry and stops to stare at one of Peyton's sweaters. When she goes downstairs, she finds Alan popping a wine cork and surprisingly happy. He says that he is free now thanks to Gus. She pointedly asks if Gus is with Tammy. He tells her that what is done is done and everyone has their own share of guilt they need to overcome and put behind them. They sit down and he tells her he'd like to buy this property because Gus lived here. He'll just have to tear the house down and build something decent. She reminds him that she is moving to LA to get away from he and Bill. Alan offers to get a wing at Cedars for Tammy some day.

Later, Alan calls Grace to thank her and his followers for all of their help. Alex arrives to see if the charges have been dropped. He tells her they have but admits that he was terrified. She asks him if his "close encounters" with Gus are real. He claims that they are. If that's so, she can't understand why he is using them for gain. He feels no guilt. Gus could have gone to someone who deserves help but he knowingly chose him instead. "With Gus' love to guide me, I can crush anyone who gets in my way," he says, arching an eyebrow. They play cards and she asks him again how real this is. He insists it is. That's the strength of the parental bond. Wouldn't she want messages from Lujack? Everyone needs something to believe in, even them. Gus has given him back the confidence and power he had lost. He believes that the family can be truly happy for the first time. "And regain Spaulding Enterprises?" she asks. "Are you with me?" he smiles.

In the park, Mallet flashes Marina the concert tickets he got. She's not impressed. She's obsessing over Grady and can't understand how he has walked. She's confident that they can catch him the next time he screws up. Mallet suggests that she is letting her feelings for Cyrus cloud her judgment. She snaps at him. He reminds her that they only catch them and she needs to move on. They begin bickering about Cyrus. She knows that he was trying to play her. Ignoring him, she leaves to try and get a court order for surveillance on Grady.

Marina goes to Company and begins ranting about Mallet to Buzz. He's not surprised; they've been dating for awhile so it's time for them to have a fight. She begins babbling about Mallet and the fact that they haven't even slept together until Coop sticks his head in to give her advice and Frank shows up to follow suit. The Cooper men sit around with her and give her their relationship advice. She isn't interested: It's her life. She storms off.

Dinah goes to Mallet's apartment. The door is unlocked so she walks in. He walks out in his towel. She hands him her repayment for the bail he paid. She tells him that Bill is treating her like a poodle – "nice bed, but tight leash". As they talk, Marina walks in and interrupts them. Dinah quickly excuses herself while Mallet dresses. He begins making excuses for Dinah's presence. "I couldn't care less," Marina says, kissing him. She pulls his clothes off as they kiss. After sex, they lay in bed and she says that she's been trying to make him prove something... that he wouldn't walk out on her.

Vanessa finds her son at Towers and sits down to ask him why he stuck his sister in jail. She shows him Max's obituary. He decides it's time to leave and walks away.

Lizzie goes to visit Billy. She explains that she's got a memorial statue for Bill. He asks her to help his son more. She refuses to be sucked back into his life.

Dinah sits at the bar in Towers when a drink is served to her, courtesy of "the gentleman over there". "Really? I don't know any," she says before looking over and spotting Alan toasting her. He sits with her. She assumes he is there to gloat. He tells her how complicated brother and sister relationships can be. He offers her his praise for getting the better of him and toasts her. She toasts to his freedom, whether or not he deserves it. He offers to put her in touch with her father. She's about to leave. He apologizes and tells her they don't need to be enemies. Now that Bill's taken the company, maybe she should look for other opportunities. She tells him to save it. "I can help you put your brother in his place," he offers.

When Bill gets home, Vanessa, Billy and Lizzie are waiting for him with the crate containing Max's monument. They tell him how important the love for a child is and how important he would have been in their lives. "He was going to be the best part of me," he says. They place the statue outside. Bill stares at it and thanks Lizzie. She stares at Sarah's monument. He asks her how she can stay there while she knows that her daughter is still alive somewhere.

Vanessa and Billy go to Company. She tells him he looks good. He remembers the past. She reminds him that the good old days weren't always good. They wonder if Bill and Lizzie will get back together. He says that Lizzie is too good for his son but asks her if they have a chance. She doubts it; once the faith and trust is lost, it's too hard.

Didn't to particular care about today's episode, but enjoyed seeing Vanessa and Billy. I don't know what to say about the Cooper men.

I can't believe the inside of Harley's house is still not painted. I thought they had a painting party to honor Gus when he died.

When is Rafe scheduled to return?

Marina and Mallet Yucky and boring @ the same time. If they really want that relationship to work they need to age Marina.

Do actors and actresses have to work together because they are dating? Mallet fits better with Dinah than Marina. Since Mallet and Marina are together in real life, why can't they give each other a break at work? What happens if they break up in real life? Then we will have awkward tv instead of boring tv?

What has happen to this story? When Marina was with Danny Santos that is when the story was hot! When Danny's crazy mom Carmen was around. What happen to the real villians? why does everyone have to be so GOOOD and nice? Please, please writers give us the drama we need on GL, B&B and Y&R... As the world turns is a lost cause I am afraid.

Yeah, this paring people on screen that are together off screen? The story lines don't work and they have no chemistry. Harley and Cyrus? Marina and Mallet? Remember when people relied on their acting skills to convince the audience? I hope their real life relationships aren't as boring and destructive as their on screen ones.

I keep hearing that Mallett and Marinia are involved in real life. Is it just a rumor or is it fact because I would realy like to know. And if they wanted real life couples on the show w/ charectors they need to bring Reva and Joshs real life wife. Also GL realy needs to take lessons from ATWT. Today they did live shots and it was realy watchable and good and the background music wasnt loud or awfull.

I'm just glad there was no DAISY today. I can't stand to look at that pitiful child. For her to say at one moment that she loved her cousin and then in the next, lie to help the person who took her from their family walk free, just blow my mind. I guess she loved her boyfriend more. I'm really sick of Bill too. Send him back out of the country, PLEASE.

Someone posted here yesterday that Ava was dead. Does anyone know if this is true? I must have missed it. If anyone knows anything about this, i'd appreciate any input. THANKS!

sorry - but what soap did "Harley" and "Gus" go to? I know it was discussed her but I missed it.
AND I agree - what is so hard about painting the inside of Harley's house - it's been at least a year now - good grief!
