Lizzie decides to move to LA, Cassie lets Josh go, Reva agrees to a marriage proposal.
At the mansion, Ava helps Bill with his tie. He's sure the Governor's endorsement will open doors for them. He tells her to get some rest and hurries off.
Lizzie lounges around the house. Flipping on the TV, she sees that the Governor will likely endorse Bill. Ava comes to the door and tells Lizzie to stop chasing after Bill. Lizzie thinks she's just there to see if she can catch Bill out. They start to argue. Lizzie doesn't want to hear her being self-righteous when her whole life is based on lies. Ava reminds her that Bill's whole life is based on an image, nothing else, and if she destroys that, it will destroy Bill. If she loves him, she won't ask anything of him. Lizzie tells her to go.
Bill finds his father at Company and thanks him for his help getting the endorsement. Billy reminds his son that he doesn't have to prove himself to anyone. Billy explains that he almost ran for office too, but he had too many skeletons in his closet. He worries that his son will already have too much pressure just raising a kid. Bill assures him he can handle it.
At Company, Lizzie tells Bill that she plans to pick up and leave. He tells her not to go. "We would only make each other sad," she insists. She can't watch him try to fall in love with Ava and raise a child. He says that if she leaves, it won't change the way he feels. She asks for a job in the company, but in Los Angeles. He says there is a lot of work out there, but he can trust her to handle it. That's the only time he's ever said that he trusts her. She's eager to leave. She wants a job, a fresh start and has few other options. "I leave tomorrow," she announces. She can't talk about this anymore. He tells her she's the best thing that's happened to him since he came back; he wants good things for her. She wishes him luck with the baby and starts to cry. He walks out.
Bill and Ava meet with the Governor. He tells them that his family man image is a hit and he is sure to be the next Governor. He walks away and Ava and Bill giggle in excitement. A journalist comes in to interview them. She abruptly asks Bill about his blond mistress. Ava is shocked she would ask that right in front of her. Bill threatens to sue her for slander.
Billy sits beside Lizzie at Company. She's been crying. He offers to leave her alone. She tells him she's moving to LA to work for Bill. He doesn't think she should leave just because his son is a "butthead". "I think you're my best friend," she says, thanking him for everything he's done for her. She rests her head on his shoulder and tells him to take care of Bill.
On the movie set, the photographers take pictures of Josh and Reva while they stand in the spot where they were once married. The photographers encourage them to kiss but they don't. Jeffrey and Cassie watch anxiously. Mark and Jolene step forward, but Reva stops everyone. "There's something I want to say," she starts. She tells the actors to say their lines as if they were put on this earth to say these words at this exact moment. Then they'll know what it was like for her. Jolene thanks her and tells her this has been the role of lifetime. "It's been quite a lifetime and it's not over yet," Reva says.
Jeffrey follows Cassie as she walks off. He wants to get out of there. She tells him she wants to see this through. They can't control anyone else's feelings.
Reva and Josh stand by the water. She didn't know this would have such an impact on her. They've been in a bit of a bubble lately. He almost wishes they'd known back then what they know now. "And taken all the fun out of it?" she asks. It feels like they've never left this place. "Maybe we haven't," he says. They sit down. He wonders how things could be so messed up. He admits that, though he's tried his best to love Cassie, nothing has been right between them since he found out about Reva's cancer. He doesn't blame her, but he should never have denied the truth that everyone knows: "It's you and me. We belong together. We always have," he says. "I do love the memory of us... the memory," she clarifies. The love they had has changed and they can't go back to it. It's too late. They aren't those people anymore. How many marriages have they tried and failed to live up to what they once were? There can be nothing in a future like that but pain. "I believe in miracles, but I don't believe in fairy tales," she says. Josh knows she still loves him. "I will... always... it's just not our time anymore," she says. They kiss. Cassie and Jeffrey see them and she walks away.
"That was some kiss. Part of the wedding vows?" Cassie asks Josh after he catches up to her. "No. That was us," Josh admits. She admits she always knew this might happen. She hoped they would have moments of their own but, apparently there haven't been enough of them. Loving him has been one of the best things she's ever done, but maybe letting go can be one of the best things she's ever done too. She runs off.
"You made your choice," Jeffrey says to Reva as she sits by him. He assumes she's chosen Josh and doesn't see a point in dragging this out. He just wants her to be happy. Before he can leave, she says, "I chose you, you dummy! I choose you Jeffrey." He was expecting the big kiss off scene. She tells him that she and Josh are over. She wants him in his life, not some movie. Memories should stay memories. Jeffrey is perfect for her now. He smiles and agrees to take her back. "What the hell," he laughs as they kiss. She loves him for loving her laugh. He slips a prop ring on her finger and proposes to her. She laughs: "What the hell! Let's get married!" They kiss. She thanks him for defending her and even standing up to her. "I'm never leaving you again," she promises.
Josh and Cassie go home. They sit down. She doesn't know what to do. He apologizes for everything. He knows she asked him many times if he still had feelings for Reva. He never wanted this to happen. "You saw me through the worst time in my life... you loved me when I didn't deserve it..." she cries. He says she always deserved it and deserves better. They needed each other. He offers to move out tonight. "Alright," she agrees. It's impossible to stay with him when she knows they are worlds apart. "This is me letting you go," she says. His past has never gone away and she can't live with it anymore. "Dr. Frankl will be real disappointed in us," she jokes sadly as they cradle each other. "I'm sure she'll muddle though," he says. He packs up, finding old plans from the Veteran's Hospital. She assures him that she isn't angry and bitter. He isn't either; he's just sad. "It was good when it was good," she says. Downcast, he starts to walk out but delays. He promises to call her and embraces her as he slowly moves out.
