Meaningless or Always?

Friday, July 18 2008
Josh fights with himself and the women in his life, Jeffrey is forced to release Grady, Frank and Cyrus team up.

With tears in her eyes, Reva watches the video of her wedding to Josh at Cross Creek.

Jeffrey runs into Daisy in the park. He's looking for Rafe. She asks him if he's going to throw another of her boyfriend's in jail. He tells her that Grady is out of control. She suggests that he talk to her grandmother; she's the one who is out of control. Isn't that why he's stuck living alone now?

In the cells, Grady accuses his brother of selling him out. Grady refuses to abandon Daisy. Cyrus warns him not to underestimate Daisy's family: They would happily keep him there forever. "You're underestimating me," Grady warns.

Cyrus walks out to Frank, repeating that his brother will beat these charges. Frank waves Grady's long record at him. Grady's spent most of his life in jail. "You must be very proud," Franks says, walking away. Cyrus picks up his brother's file and flips through it before walking off. Daisy rushes by and into the cells to see Grady. She tells him to take Cyrus' deal. They can outsmart everyone and still see each other. He refuses. "I'm not going to hurt you," he says.

Cassie walks onto the set of "Always" and sits down with the actress playing Marah. Jolene joins them and they have a tea party.

Josh is rehearsing his sermon in the chapel. Reva stands by and listens. "We move on and make our happiness because if we don't, we'll be stuck in our past forever," he concludes. "Nice sermon Rev," she says. She reminds him that they are shooting the wedding today. "Which one?" he asks sarcastically. He's done with the movie. She thinks they should be extras in the shoot; it was one of the most important moments in their lives. He wants to move on. She enjoyed it the first time around. So did he, but he won't go back. She smiles and leaves.

On the lawn, Reva searches for her phone. Josh chases her down and hands it to her, telling her to be more careful. He complains about how she is always losing things and never thinking. She doesn't think about those things and doesn't want a lecture. "Thanks for saving me from myself again," she says. He apologizes for not going to the filming, but it's too hard. He worries about what the film crew could do to their wedding day. Maybe if they were still the people they were back then, this could be fun, but they're not. She reminds him that things weren't simple in the old days either. He tells her to have fun. "I make fun wherever I go," she smiles.

Cassie goes to see Jeffrey at his office. She shows him that she got a traffic ticket and then asks what's happening between he and Reva. They're just taking a break, he explains.

Jeffrey discovers Cyrus in his office. He tells him to drop the charges against his brother. Jeffrey refuses. Cyrus plays the tape of Reva confessing. Jeffrey refuses to make a deal. Cyrus walks out, telling him the deal will only be on the table for 24 hours and then he'll go public. After the Australian leaves, Jeffrey calls Chief Wolf and drops all the charges against Grady, asking that he be released.

Daisy goes back to Cross Creek. Reva tries on dresses for the wedding. "Do you keep all the wedding dresses or just the ones from your weddings to Josh?" Daisy snipes. Reva rants about how she wants to look good on film. Daisy grimaces and complains that no one is letting her have a say in her own life. She gets fed up with her grandmother's hypocrisy and walks out.

Frank releases Grady, though the murder charges are still pending. "This has to be tough for you Dudley?" Grady smiles. Frank warns him to stay away from Daisy. Grady walks out while Cyrus watches.

Daisy goes to Harley's and starts drinking when her phone rings. It's a message from Grady telling her to pack for warm weather. She goes to meet him, but finds Cyrus instead. He tells her his brother is out but she won't be seeing him. Frank leaps up and tells her she'll be going to stay with Harley. She refuses. Frank announces that he'll be delivering her personally. She begs Cyrus for help. "You know how much he hates me and we're working together on this," Cyrus explains, pointing to Frank. Frank thanks him for his help, but repeats he'd still like to lock him up. Frank drags Daisy away while Grady tries to call her.

Cassie goes to see the therapist. They chat until Josh arrives. She says they seem more relaxed. Cassie tells her they are going to try and have a baby. Josh loved raising his son and daughter and thinks it would be good for RJ to have a sibling. Cassie talks of how excited she is. The therapist isn't convinced their relationship is stable. Josh tells her that the child will bring them closer together and give them something to focus on. The therapist probes but Cassie and Josh get confused. Josh becomes irate and snaps, saying that he won't be coming to the session next week.

Reva calls her father and tells him that Josh won't be coming to the wedding. Jeffrey runs up and surprises her. She asks him if he's been following her; she sees more of him now than when they were living together. He tells her he's worried about her. He had to let Grady out because of her. She didn't know he negotiated with blackmailers. He's worried about her. She tells him to stop. He begins talking about her laugh and her dress; both big and wonderful and filling up any room they go into. She thanks him and walks away.

Josh and Cassie sit at Towers and bicker. They begin joking about their therapist but Josh admits he doesn't want to go back. It's an icy conversation.

Cassie goes home. Jeffrey comes to tell her that Grady has been released. She tells him that she and Josh have had a rough day. They didn't fight; they just have nothing more to say. She suggests that they go to the wedding. Jeffrey tells her the movie is meaningless. "If it were meaningless, that's what they would have called the damned thing, not 'Always'!" she blurts out. He tells her what will happen, will happen. "Josh and I aren't over yet... I mean Josh and I aren't over," she says.

Josh arrives at the set. "You said there would be free food," he jokes to Reva. They quietly watch the rehearsal, impressed by how everything looks.

Brady reminds me so much of Jonathan. Maybe he had the same abandonment problems. There could be something good underneath. I am hoping he stays around.

I just read in "Comings and Goings" that Michelle Ray Smith is not expected to return after after her maternity leave. Does this mean we are rid of Ava? I for one will not be sad to see her go. Josh & Reva S/L would certainly make me want to watch the show more. Lately I read the summary and if they aren't in it I don't usually bother to watch the tape. That's sad since I have been watching for as long as I can remember. Bring back some Bauers!

Please tell me Grady is older than 23. Frank told Cyrus Grady has been in and out of jail for the last 10 years - since he was about 12 or 13. Geez! That man is closer to Harley's age than Daisy.

I hate Jeffrey had to drop the charges against Grady. Why isn't Grady charged with the kidnapping of Ava and attempted rape? I thought it was sweet of Jeffrey to say what he did to Reva. Even though I have always been a fan of Josh and Reva, I so like her with Jeffrey. Jeffrey is my man.

Josh and Cassie both need to rethink having a baby. It would be so cruel to the child to bring him/her into a screwed up household such as theirs. If they have so much love to give, where is RJ? When he was home, I did not see the love. Having a baby with Cassie is not the solution to their problem. The marriage counselor knows, and Joshe knows it. That's why he doesn't want to continue the sessions.
Hi 3 Puppies, Mom6. (I'm back - had to prepare for the Polls; I am a Poll Manager)

I would really love to think that this is the old Alan pulling a sneaky Wile E Coyote maneuver to get back what he's lost, but unfortunately I think the one trick pony writers have just made him another one of the looney tunes like Cassie, however that's just not the one.

Now for one of my primo beefs with the writers idiotic story lines. This thing with Daisy is very irresponsible on their parts pairing this teenaged though technically adult girl with a guy who is clearly way too old for her and not just a thug like bad boy but also an actual hired murderer and drug dealer. Yet, who the heck am I to quibble with this they’ve already had her having dangerous unprotected sex and an abortion not to mention a previous attempt to drug her own step father in an attempt to seduce him when she was only sixteen.

Oh and yes whoever the poster was that asked, I do think Jeffrey is sexy and NO “I” don’t think Cassie is sexy. What I said was the writers seemed to think Josh needed a younger sexier love interest and sadly they had the misguided idea that the actress who plays Cassie fit the profile. To be honest I want Reva to stay with Jeffrey he isn't as self righteous and holier than thou as Josh became (apparently only with Reva) it seems, since he only gives the lectures to her over her mistakes and not Cassie when she does things like um...CHANGING OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN'S PATERNITY RESULTS AND OR LETTING HER HOMICIDAL SON RUN AROUND TRYING TO KILL ANYONE WHO GETS IN THE WAY OF ANYTHING HE WANTS INCLUDING HER OTHER CHILD TO NAME JUST A FEW! Jeffrey loves Reva as she is and doesn't try to remake her all the time. He just tries to help her when she makes a mistake without some big emo rant at her like Josh does.

It’s really too bad that the producers and writers pay no attention to what we say here and on other sites because then they would know just how much of a draw the story lines involving a mature couple like Josh and Reva or Reva and Jeffrey still having a passion for life and each other or Coop and Ashley are. They had a lovely thing there and the feed back clearly was great yet they just seem too obtuse to get the fact that the average size of women in this country is 14 or over. So considering the fact bulimia and anorexia are becoming almost epidemic among grade school not to mention high school girls it would seem that the positive reactions from so many of the “younger viewers” that the producers and writers state that they wish to focus primarily on you would think they would have kept those two together even with Ashley trying to get healthier.

They keep harping on the need to cut costs due to budget concerns and still they pay no attention to what actually draws in the viewers, which in turn boosts the rating thus paying the salaries, pretty brainless I would say. Heck, they don’t seem to even have clue one as to who their real viewers ar

I love the way Frank got Daisy. I really hope she goes to greece. But I dont think the actress that plays her is leaving so. Monday is a must see day. I think Josh is realizing that life w/ Reva was not as complicated as it has been w/ Cassie. I really believe he regrets his choice. I really believe they will find thier way ack together again. No more Ava? I really wanted to see her and Remy together. If she does leave that really does not leave a reason for Remy to be around. And wht happen to Ricks kid Lea?

Oh and the scene where Frank and Cyrus ambushed Daisy. The across the river and behind the tree did not work out so well at all. I like to see the exspressions on the actors faces. That a ig part of acting 101.

Oh one more thing. I started to tear up when I saw the real Reva and Josh on thier wedding day. I remember that day too. Good writers can make you part of an event like you were there. I havent seen one latley since Tammys death scene.

Am I the only one that finds this wedding to be incredibly tacky? I mean, maybe back in the 70's or 80's it was a hoot. Every time I see her in that huge hat with those giant flowers behind her ear, I almost laugh myself silly. I'm gonna be really bummed if they put Josh and Reva together again....where would they go with it? Would the only s/l available be leading to their eventual break up?

It's clear that Josh and Cassie are over, though. That's ok Cass...Cyrus is lonely right now.

I think Frank should handcuff Daisy while he's with her on the flight. He shouldn't even let her go to the bathroom in the airport.

I love Joshua and Reva's first wedding. It does bring back so many memories, like I was really there:) I thought it was beautiful then, and i still do. They are really a soap opera super couple. They really do belong together. Back in those days, they were just one of the reasons i watched guiding light( i loved roger thorpe, holly, vanessa, the old dinah, annie dutton, alan, the old alexandra, nick and mindy) But now, Joshua and Reva are the only reason i still watch guiding light
