Frank is outraged about what his sister has done, Natalia is outraged about what Harley has done, Alan is relieved, Lizzie vows to destroy Bill.
Frank arrives at the scene where Jeffery was shot and looks around. After sighing, he goes down to his office.
At Company, Buzz pours himself a shot. He goes into the kitchen and starts cleaning the stove when Frank comes in, worrying about where Rafe might be.
Bill walks to the park to meet with Brian from the Spaulding board. Lizzie pops up and makes it clear that Brian is a life long supporter of Spaulding. When Bill tries to talk, Brian leaves. He tells Lizzie that she will never win this and the merger will happen. "We will see won't we?" she smirks. She's sure that she can convince enough people to vote against him and wonders what Ava will be doing while he's busy. He urges her to go to the next meeting with him and they walk off. When she gets in his car, she changes her mind but he starts driving. She jumps out anyway. They continue arguing. She accuses him of unrealistically wanting everything. "I'm going to beat you and save my family's company from you," she vows. He looks down as he gets a text message. "Jeffery was shot," he says. He realizes that he should probably go to the hospital to see Ava.
Ava paces at the hospital when Olivia arrives. They sit and Ava fills her in about Jeffrey. He's still in critical condition and they aren't sure if his lung has collapsed. Reva doesn't know yet; no one's been able to get in touch with her. Ava sends Bill a message. Olivia wishes she could say something comforting but she's only good at the dying stuff. Ava wonders why everyone who comes into her life leaves. She starts beating herself up about the pregnancy; all she wants is for her father to meet her baby and learn how to change a diaper. Bill arrives and hugs her. Olivia leaves them alone. Ava hugs Bill and thanks him for coming. He rolls his eyes.
Alan chases Natalia down the road. "Tell me it isn't true," he begs. It is though: Rafe shot Jeffery because he thought he would make Gus out to be a dirty cop. Now he's gone on the run. She has no idea what he could be thinking right now or what will happen if Jeffery dies.
Alan takes Natalia to Company and offers to get a lawyer for Rafe. Frank and Buzz worry. Frank promises that he will find him; the whole force is searching. Buzz slips away to call Harley so he can tell Alan that Rafe is okay. Natalia continues to worry that if her son doesn't eat right he could die. Alan takes her away to continue searching. Frank turns to his father and tells him how bad he feels for Natalia. "She'll be okay," Buzz says, taking another drink. Frank wonders where his sister disappeared to. Buzz takes another drink. "They're fine Frank. Your sister did what she had to do," he says quietly. He explains that Harley felt obligated to Gus. "How is she going to protect Rafe when she can't protect herself?" Frank asks angrily. He doesn't even understand how she can afford to go on the run. Buzz admits that he gave her money. "Good parenting pop!" Frank shouts, demanding to know where they went. Buzz says that they'll hear from her soon, but Frank can't say a word because it will put them in danger. Frank is furious about what they are doing to Natalia; Buzz wouldn't know what it's like to have a child go missing because he was the one who ran away. They yell at each other and Frank storms out.
Alan and Natalia sit down in the park and worry. She says that her son will pay for what he's done but they have to find him. She wants to see Jeffrey and apologize to his daughter. Alan doesn't think that's necessary. She walks away. Lizzie finds him sitting there alone. He tells her that he and Alex used to have a contest about who could get the governor on the phone the quickest... now he can't even help his grandson. Lizzie isn't sure that all of his power could have helped in this situation. He feels helpless. "I'm here," she says, promising to fix things.
Ava and Bill walk into Company. She worries that the doctor hasn't gotten back to her about Jeffrey. He's absent-minded, worried about the stockholder's meeting. He decides to do his pre-meeting routine and starts doing dance moves as she laughs.
Natalia walks into Cedars looking for Ava. She finds Olivia instead. She's about to walk away when Olivia stops her. Natalia tells her how sorry she is and asks if there is anything she can do to help. Olivia tells her that she needs to go. Frank walks in and asks what's going on. Natalia thought she was doing the right thing but she was mistaken. She walks out and he follows. Once they're gone, Ava returns. She's anxious. Olivia tells her that Bill is lucky to have her; he's made a lot of mistakes but now he seems ready to grow up.
Frank walks Natalia down to the park and sits her down. He explains that Rafe is okay and is safe. She wants to see him. Frank explains that Harley decided to keep Rafe safe: She took him out of the country. "Harley took my son on the run from the law?" she shouts, outraged. She wants to get some help. Frank tries to calm her.
Lizzie sits at the bar in Company sorting through her purse. Buzz pours her coffee and they start talking about the Rafe situation. She asks how Harley is doing and offers to take Zach for the weekend. She asks Buzz to keep an eye on her grandfather for her. She launches into a brief rant about Bill and how much she is going to make him suffer before she walks out. As soon as she's gone, his phone rings: It's Harley.
Lizzie calls Bill over to a meeting in his room. He goes in and starts to undress. She comes in looking for her lucky earring. "What happens if you find it? Roxie becomes CEO?" he jokes. She tells him to give up trying to be CEO of Spaulding and warns him that someone will get hurt if he doesn't stop. He insists that his name is all over the company. "It's called "Spaulding" stupid," she points out as she finds her earring. As she puts it on, she tells him he'll be shut out today. He offers to make a bet. She doesn't bet but she agrees to have a drink with him. She pours while he dresses. As he does, she drugs his drink. They drink and he becomes tipsy quick. "Knock yourself out," she smiles. He soon drops on the bed unconscious.
Natalia hurries back to Cedars and asks for her money back from Olivia: She needs it to help Rafe. Olivia refuses. Natalia walks away and Ava returns. She asks what's going on. When her mother abruptly leaves, Ava calls Bill to wish him good luck but he's unconscious.
Alan returns to Company. He sits down with Buzz to have some bourbon. He didn't know their families would be so connected without Gus, but there's still Zach... until he leaves. Alan mournfully misses all the children who he's lost; Rafe is only the latest. "I can't afford to lose anything else," he says. Buzz tells him that Rafe is safe. Harley took him out of the country but he can't say anything else. Alan thanks him. Buzz walks over to a table where Frank sits. They start going through the schedule of who will look after Zach and Jude. Alan offers to help out. Natalia rushes in and tells Buzz that she knows what's going on and she needs to see her son. Olivia follows. She's decided that she wants to help and hands Natalia an envelope. Buzz takes Natalia to talk to Rafe on the phone. Alan thanks Olivia for helping his family.
