Jeffrey and Mallet try to end the corruption mess, Rafe takes drastic measures, Harley gets to the bottom of things.

Jeffrey paces in his office thinking when Larry from the US Attorney's office arrives to discuss the Gus case. He explains the situation but Larry doesn't want to give Gus a free pass, even if he was a local hero. "Great guy, crooked cop," Larry summarizes. They aren't in the business of giving people breaks.

Mallet tracks Harley down outside her house. He explains what he's discovered about Gus. He's tried destroying most of the evidence connecting Gus to the corruption and is doing his best to shield him. "He was a hero and that's how people will remember him," Mallet insists. After he leaves her alone, she begins kicking things around the yard before climbing up the ladder to fix the gutter.

Jeffrey arrives at the police station. He confronts Mallet about Gus, knowing that he must have known about this for awhile. They begin shouting at each other. Jeffery argues that he wouldn't have to fix this mess if Mallet had come to him in the first place; now it's all blowing up. Mallet asks Jeffrey to put it all on him. "It's too late," Jeffrey says. Mallet flies into a rage, throwing things of his desk. This is going to kill everyone who was dear to Gus.

Alan walks into Company and finds Rafe filling out an application. He tells his grandfather that he is giving his mother all the money he found. He doesn't need it anyway, he's joining the Marines and will later become a policeman. Hearing this, Alan sits down with him. He tells him that he had another dream about Gus in which he said how important family is and how his mother needs him. Alan warns Rafe that his plans this might be a mistake. Rafe has second thoughts.

Spotting Natalia's car, Jeffrey goes into the church. He finds her lighting candles. Rafe runs in and tells her he needs to talk to her. He shows her the money he found and explains how he got it. "This is more than a dream: This is real. Gus can't be completely gone if he can do something like this!" he says. She doesn't even know what to say.

Mallet goes to the baseball diamond and begins throwing balls. Afterwards, he drives down the street and picks Rafe up as he walks. Rafe begins telling him that he's planning on becoming a cop. Mallet's sure that he would be a good cop just like his father was. Rafe is about to leave when Mallet tells him about the corruption investigation and how Gus might have been involved. He assures him that he will protect his father's reputation and the pension he left behind. Rafe becomes upset when Mallet tells him that the DA is already looking into this. "Gus was my partner so that makes you my family," Mallet tells him, promising again to take care of this before he drives away.

In her room, Olivia hands Natalia the deed to Gus' house. Natalia hands it back; she couldn't even afford the mortgage. Olivia says that she's paid it down and jokes that she's a saint now. She tells her to take it. Natalia refuses charity and walks out. As soon as she's gone, Harley walks in with flowers. Olivia is a bit startled by this. They sit down and talk about money. Olivia tells her that Gus never gave her any money; she's never had financial problems. Harley keeps talking about Gus and his money, which makes Olivia uncomfortable. She tells Harley that it's her heart now, not Gus', and she can't be the person everyone goes to when they need him. If she wants to talk to Gus, she can try talking to Alan about his dreams. Harley smiles and sits in silence. Olivia asks her to take the flowers with her when she leaves.

Harley tracks Alan down at Company and asks him about the dreams. She wonders what his angle could be. Did Gus ask about her or the children? Did he seem worried or guilty? "About what?" Alan asks. She starts dropping names he might have mentioned and Alan stops her at "Grundy" explaining that he's a defense lawyer. She asks Alan to tell Gus that she's okay and the kids are good.

Rafe runs into Harley on the street. He asks is he can go to her house and pick up the rest of Gus' stuff. She says sure but he turns down a ride over there and walks away.

Alan goes to see Natalia to talk about the money. He assures her that his dreams are real and asks her if she is going to talk her son out of joining the Marines. Rafe never mentioned anything like that to her. He tells her to talk him out of it. She assumes he just wants him to work for him one day, but it sounds like he's making a mature decision to follow in his father' footsteps and she's proud of him.

Harley goes to see Mr. Grundy. She tells him that his name keeps coming up in an investigation she's been running. She questions him until he gets a call. Staring around the room, she sees that he has received awards from the heart center realizes something before walking away.

Jeffrey goes to see Olivia at The Beacon. They chit chat before he reminds her that she's more connected to this town now than she ever has been before. Springfield is a special place full of tethers keeping them there. It's like an old sweater; if you pull on one string the whole thing could unravel. That sounds inevitable, she suggests. "You do what you have to do to stop it," he explains.

Alan and Rafe arrive at Harley's. "How does she live like this?" Alan asks as he looks around. They go down to the basement and start rummaging though Gus' stuff. They find Gus' old gun and a medal he won for valor. Once they fill up a box, Rafe brings it out to the car. Over the radio, he hears that Jeffrey is about to give a press conference about the Springfield PD. He jumps in the car and drives off.

Mallet goes to Jeffrey's office and tells him that he told Rafe what was going on. Jeffrey says that he's been trying to cut this mess off before it can get worse. Mallet is unconvinced by his strategy.

Harley goes to Olivia's room and walks in. "Gus was taking bribes to move you up the transplant list," she confronts her with, laying out the evidence. Olivia is shocked. Harley is shocked that she is shocked. "He really stepped up for you," Harley points out. Olivia walks out and runs into Natalia down the hall. She starts sniping at her but Natalia still offers to help her. Olivia offers to sell her the house for the money that Gus left. "Yes," Natalia finally agrees, looking away. Olivia admits that Gus' heart could be for more than just pumping blood. When she does something wrong, she feels like Gus knows. "Having this gift makes me want to share it," she admits. Natalia puts her arm around her. They both miss him. Her phone starts ringing. It's Alan searching for Rafe, worried that they better find him quick.

Harley runs to the station and explains what she's discovered to Mallet. The stuff Gus did was never about money and was barely criminal. Mallet tells her that Jeffrey is about to give a press conference so they'll have to stop it. Harley has to run off to graduation.

As Jeffrey prepares his press statement, Rafe walks in and points his gun at him, vowing that he won't let him do this to hid father.
