I'm not Doing it in a Police van.

Wednesday, May 07 2008
Remy is there for Ava, Lizzie rejects Bill, Mallet rejects Dinah, Alan decides to stick around.

Remy and Ava are on Main Street when Bill runs into them. Bill gets rid of Remy so he can talk to Ava alone. He sarcastically thanks her for stabbing Lizzie in the heart and confronts her for telling Lizzie the truth about his plans with Dinah. "You couldn't keep this from her forever," she points out. He writes her a check and tells her it's for her medical bills; she can call him after the baby is born. After he leaves, Remy approaches her as she cries in a corner. Things are over with Bill, she announces. She doesn't know what she was thinking. "I don't even know if I'm ready to be a mother," she realizes, listing how many changes this will mean. She can barely look after her mother... He tells her that Olivia's tougher than looking after a baby. Babies freak him out too, but he's sure that having a baby won't make her "gross". She cries on his shoulder. She goes over to Towers and has a drink. Remy follows her. She flashes the check that Bill gave her; she thought they could have a baby and be a family. Remy thinks she can do better than Bill. "I'm pregnant and alone," she reminds him. He takes her hand and promises her a distraction. They go back to the mansion and the sprinkler system goes off, soaking them. He calls Hilda to get her a change of clothes and starts trying to warm her up. She resists and goes upstairs to find a robe. When she comes downstairs, he tells her she's pretty and puts his arms around her. They kiss and she pulls off his shirt.

At Company, Lizzie sits with her grandfather so they can plot how to get their company back from Dinah and Bill. Alan smiles and promises that he won't let her down this time. She hands him a notebook and tells him to brush up on the board members. She's also found him somewhere new to live and insists that they are equal partners in this. He doesn't want her to do this if it's just part of a lover's quarrel. "I am in," she insists, shaking his hand. In the parking lot, she calls to have her shares moved over to Alan. Sitting in her car, she begins to cry. After cleaning herself up, she runs into her mother and tells her that she broke up with Bill but doesn't want to talk about it. She just got in her car and realized that she doesn't have a home. Beth offers her a place in the Bauer house. "My brain needs a break," Lizzie says. "Your heart needs a rest," Beth adds. Lizzie thought that Bill was the one, but she really didn't know him as well as she thought she did.

Bill returns to work and tries calling Lizzie. She doesn't pick up so he leaves a mumbling message for her. A video-teleconference starts up and he answers questions from shareholders. Afterwards, he goes home and sees that all of Lizzie's things are gone. He flops on the bed and turns on the TV. Looking over, he spots a little note that was left for him earlier. He runs off to the park and tracks Lizzie down. He tells her that someone stole all of her clothes and her dog. She says it's over this time. He insists that she's got everything wrong and he never meant to hurt her. She wanted to have a life of her own, not flatten her family. She gives him the keys and tells him they're done. "You're cute when you're stubborn," he flirts. "Good luck with the baby," she cuts back before walking away.

Bill returns to his room and watches TV alone. He shuts it off and paces. Meanwhile, Beth tells her daughter how sorry she is for what's happened, but she and the family are excited to have her coming to live with them. Lizzie goes off and Beth goes into Company. Buzz tells her that Alan has moved out. She's surprised but asks him if he's glad to be rid of Alan. Buzz says that Alan was actually fun and even learned how to cook. Beth takes some cookies and goes home to her daughter. When she leaves Lizzie alone, Bill calls. He tells her that he's outside and begs her to look out and see him. She doesn't. Instead, Beth goes outside to see Bill, telling him to go home. She reminds him that Lizzie deserves to come first. Beth goes back inside and Bill stays on the lawn. Lizzie can't help herself from looking out her window. She pulls her mother in to look down at him. Outside, Bill holds a stereo over his head and plays a song but this piece of John Cusack inspired activity doesn't seem to impress Lizzie. He gets a call and drives away.

As Dinah jogs, she runs into Mallet as he drives around in his van. He invites her in and she happily jumps in to tell him about her day. They eat chips while he stakes someone out. She tells him that Maureen is staying with her and she's teaching her everything she knows. When she asks him to come over for the night, he refuses. She insists that she and Bill are going to do great things for the town. He doubts it and offers to drop her off somewhere. "If you can't come over tonight, I have another idea," she offers, unzipping her sweat-suit and climbing into the backseat. "I'm not doing it in a police van," he says. They've done the casual thing and it doesn't work.

At Company, Alan happily tells Buzz that Lizzie has finally come back to him and, for the first time in a long time, the future doesn't look so bleak. He writes Buzz a check for his room. Buzz admits that he wondered if having him stay there was a good idea, but it turned out that even his neighbors liked him. Alan packs up all of his CDs and he and Buzz trade one. "You're always welcome over to my new apartment," Alan tells him. Dinah and Mallet walk in. Alan asks her if she's "slumming". He explains that he's moving out and Mallet offers to help him. Dinah doesn't understand the offer. "Didn't you say you were a woman of the people?" Mallet reminds her. "Not all people," she grumbles. They pack Alan's stuff up for his new place and Dinah tells him that his former servants have been telling her all sorts of things. She suggests that he should just be content with what he has now. Alan smirks. Mallet asks him if he's glad to be moving out of the boarding house. After thinking it over, Alan decides that the boarding house is his home for now. They unpack him again. "Buzz, he's all yours," Dinah says as she walks off. Alan makes an excuse and asks Buzz if he's still welcome, but insists it is only temporary. Buzz smiles and they sit down and play cards. "Leave the drama to the young folks," Alan laughs.

Mallet thanks Dinah for keeping him company. She says that she's done good things lately, even for Alan. "Like taking his house?" he asks. She believes in second chances, even third and forth. She begins telling him about her time in the carnival.

Another dumb day on G/L. Bill is playing Lizzie again. She will go back to him, just watch. She is dumb, dumb, and dumb. Remy and Ava made out today. Not bad. Can't quite figure out what Alan is doing. Lizzie bought him a condo and he went back to the boarding house. ????

It's sad to see that the once wonderful GL, is losing ground. For one thing, a S/L is never finished. It jump around too much. The cameras have gotten better, but that much. More of the older actors and actresses are needed. Even Allen is missed by me.
