You Lose

Thursday, December 06 2007
Edmund is rushed to the hospital, Rick, Reva and Jeffrey get their stories straight, Lizzie tries to get back at Bill.

At the ordination ceremony, Edmund tells Will that everyone is after him. Cassie is the worst, however, and he will have his revenge on her. 'No! You can't hurt my mother!' Will cries, outraged. Edmund insists that he is just trying to protect him. Will's heard that before; that's what Alonzo told him, but he showed him. Down below, Josh is confirmed into the church. After some applause, he tells everyone that he is honored and — suddenly, he's interrupted when Edmund's body falls from above and right in front of him! Josh starts calling out for Rick and Will runs around screaming. Jeffrey and Reva shoot each other worried looks. As an ambulance arrives, Beth finds Rick and asks him where he vanished to. Alan interrupts to ask if Beth needs a ride. Rick asks him to take her back to Towers. 'It would be my pleasure,' Alan says, leading her away. Meanwhile, Jeffrey tries to convince Reva that it's a good thing Edmund's dead. Anyway...it feels like time to have a drink. 'Three or four,' she says. As they walk out, Cassie worries about how to shield Will from this as much as possible.

When Edmund arrives at Cedars, the doctor there tells Rick that he has to stay away; they have a history and he needs to step back now. As Rick turns around, Mallet pops up and tells him that this doesn't look like an accident; he'll be collecting statements from everyone involved. Rick runs off to look for Beth as Josh and Cassie arrive. They leave Will so they can give Mallet their statement. He slips away to Edmund's side and tells him that he wouldn't let him hurt his mom. Cassie runs after, as does Mallet, who tries questioning the scarcely conscious man. Before he can speak, a nurse chases Mallet out. In the corridor, Mallet starts asking Will questions until Cassie and Josh lead him away. Later, Mallet returns to them and asks them if they know where Jeffrey may have been dragging Edmund. They aren't helpful and just want to take Will home. When they get home, Josh tells her that he's making some calls and will be looking after this. None of this has gone the way he planned; all he wanted to do was protect the family. Will watches them from around the corner. When Josh goes off, Cassie grabs her phone and calls her sister: They need to talk about Edmund right away.

Reva and Jeffrey go to Towers to drink and figure out what happened. 'There's an awful lot going on unsaid in this conversation isn't there?' she asks. 'Yep,' he confirms. Later, Rick arrives and warns them that the police are already involved. Jeffrey doubts that they'll be looking much further than the three of them. Rick gets a call from a friend at the hospital— Edmund slipped into a coma. Jeffrey starts trying to put together a story for them all to tell. They all agree on what to tell the cops...and Josh. After Beth joins them, Mallet arrives and they give their statement. As Rick and Beth walk away, she demands some answers about where he disappeared to. He tells her that the three of them decided not to let Edmund make any trouble and now it's taken care of.

At home, Olivia is trying to get a doctor's appointment. Bill walks down the hall with a gift for Emma. She flatly tells him that she doesn't want him to see Emma ever again. That little girl deserves more than a part-time dad who only shows up to make himself feel better. What if he suddenly had to take care of her? He would get his family to help him, he insists. That's not good enough; Emma needs someone who can commit one hundred percent or not at all.
Bill walks away sullenly before Lizzie tracks him down on Main Street. She reminds him that they have a meeting and he's late. He's also drunk. 'I don't want to be your mother,' she tells him. 'What do you wanna be?' he asks, making puppy eyes. She just wants to work. They meet with a client, Andrea Daniels, and Bill starts flirting with her until Bill gives Lizzie the day off and promptly escorts Andrea to his room. Lizzie rushes over to Towers to see Vanessa and tells her that she can't watch Bill go down the same self-destructive road as his father. Vanessa offers to talk to him. When she goes knocking on his door, she walks in and is surprised to see him and Andrea drinking in their underwear. Andrea is appalled when Bill doesn't even remember her name. She grabs her purse and walks out. He runs after her, but finds Lizzie in the hallway smirking. Bill explains that getting Andrea into bed was how he closes deals; it's too bad she's so jealous... She insists that she isn't jealous and tells him to put his pants on. He pushes her out the door and then slams it in her face laughing.

Gus and Natalia are having lunch at Towers. He tells her about his plan to buy her a Christmas tree and asks her if they really won't be waking up together on Christmas morning. She reminds him that they are waiting until they are married...but she does want to set a date. It will be very soon though: She doesn't want to spend any more nights kissing him and then having to stop. After they leave, they go over to check on ballroom availability with Olivia. When Nat slips into the washroom, he tells Olivia that he wishes that she'd let him help her more. After sending her ahead, he makes an excuse to Natalia and tries to secretly slip away with Olivia. As Nat leaves the room, she spots them vanishing through the doorway. When she gets outside, she runs into Alan. She tells him that she's trying not to overreact to something she just saw. She asks him about Olivia; she got an 'odd' feeling from her today. Alan tells her that she can trust Gus but....he's the only Spaulding male that Olivia hasn't sunk her fingers into yet. Meanwhile, at Cedars, Olivia is upset about dying, but more upset about the prospect of Bill getting custody. Gus reminds her that he went to law school and can sort this out for her. When her doctor appears, he tells her that her test results aren't as good as he had hoped and her placement on the donor list isn't high. Gus tells him that he is Alan Spaulding's son and they bankroll this hospital so if there is a list for heart transplants, Olivia's name better be moved up to the top. Later, Gus runs into Alan on the street. Gus flatly tells him that he knows that he thought he had a chance with Natalia but he doesn't anymore. 'You lose,' Gus insists. Alan isn't so sure. Meanwhile, as Olivia returns home, Natalia is waiting in the hall with a few words for her.

Where is RJ? Did he not attend his "father's" ordination service? What are those things in Will's hand? Please don't tell me Will has supernatural powers - looking at those eyes, wow!! He implied that he took care of his dad but I thought Cassie said Will was standing near her. Creepy.

Why is Natalia claiming her territory with Gus? Did she not over step her boundary when Gus was married to Harley? Umm! What goes around comes around.

I thought it was funny that Josh was calling for Dr. Rick like Rick would try to save Edmund. It was good to see Olivia today, I wish she would tell Bill to hit the bricks.

It's hard to keep track of the kids on this show. For instance, I forgot all about Beth's son James! As for Natalia, I don't like her at all. I hope that Liv gives her a run for her money!

Where was Rick? Helping Will heave Edmund over the rail?

Bill is a skunk.

Will is a dangerous little kid! Kudos to the little boy that plays him. He has me convinced that if you mess with him you end up in the morgue...LOL...I never gave too much thought to it before, but I like the idea of Olivia and Gus. I think that Olivia will be much better for him than Natalia. If Olivia goes after Gus full force Natalia doesn't stand a chance. Natalia may have broken Harley down, but Olivia will mop the floor with Natalia.

gemini030 totally agree with you about Olivia mopping the floor with Natalia.

Go Olivia! Hope she gives "Sister Nat" a run for her money. This has to be the fastest turnaround in history for remarriage. I have forgotten - did they get an annulment or divorce. If divorce, sure is a quick one. Please get on the right track with these s/l's. Tying some of them up might be a big help.

Will's best friend (Uncle Edmund) has fallen and can't get up - yet he is showing no concern. Why? Cassie says he is in shock. What does it take for Cassie and Josh to see that this kid has no remorse for his dead/almost dead relatives (Alonza and Edmund).

Bill is terrible. What happened to change the nice young guy, who left to work in another country for the Lewis Company, into the yukky person he is now? He used to be the nicest person. Will is freaking me out. He has no remorse for the uncle he loved so very much. Ha! Did he push him? All the others act guilty, too. Edmund will be in a coma, like Rosanna on ATWT, and probably won't speak for months. Did Edmund see who pushed him over the rail? Who knows...we will know eventually, but I think it will be a long, long time. They are all acting so crazy.

Awesome show, just awesome, the writers know they have the network scared. The crew at GL blows me away so much talent. Everyday the actors impress me more and more, awesome talent. I can't wait to see what happens next, man I love this show.
