Wednesday, September 24 2008

Zim Zimmer (CBS)
The women who make up the cast of Guiding Light are joining together to work for a new cause. Actresses from the series will be taking part in the 2nd annual Gal to Gal Virtual Walk. This charity has been set up to assist patients and their families battling with stage IV breast cancer. This a 31 city virtual walk across the United States to raise funds and awareness. Each day of the month, a group will walk through a different city. The walk begins on October 1 in New York. Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne) will be leading the team from GL. Her character, of course, battled breast cancer and recently got a scare that it could return.

Kristin Chenowith ("Pushing Daisies"), Molly Sims ("Las Vegas"), Marg Helgenberger ("CSI") and former soap star Lisa Rinna will also be joining other celebrities as they lend their time to this cause. Fans can register at the event's official site for a small donation. Once registered, they will be able to create a virtual self who will walk alongside the team of their choice. For more information about this event and how you can contribute to it, please visit their official site.

The following day, October 2, cast members will also be in attendance at the fundraiser which launches this event and debuts the Franklin Covey/Design her Gals 2009 monthly planner, which features the life mantras of more than 50 of the most inspiring women in the United States. This event will take place at the showroom of eco-designer Robin Wilson.

Soaps.com sends our best wishes to everyone involved in raising awareness of this important issue and stepping up to do their part to help.
