Ever since Ellen Wheeler implemented GL's "new look", I think the show has really gone downhill. I have never seen the cameras and characters spend so much time walking down the street, going in and out of rooms/buildings, just "hanging around" in a minute-mart, etc. It is so distracting and unnecessary! It takes an incredible amount away from each character and each storyline. The actors always look awkward in the tiny rooms they are in and even when they are outside. In addition, there are several characters (i.e., Grady, Ashley, Cyrus & Daisy) who do not add anything to the story (possible because they can't act very well). What needs to be "canceled" are Ellen Wheeler and her supporters for trying to reinvent the wheel!

I have watched GL since the 70's when I was in high school. Yes, it has gone through changes I am not thrilled with "the new look either", but do not throw out the baby with the bath water. Since Phillip and Edmond are back, I believe we have seen improved story lines and hoped it would be ongoing. CBS is making a hugh mistake. I do not know anyone who tapes B&B, CBS should have taken a poll and asked the people who they want to stay. It would be great if Fox would pick up GL.

I am 67 and I have listened to GL on the radio and then watched it on TV since I was 7. The characters are like my own family, and I feel a very large loss at the thought that this show may disappear. I take my afternoon rest with GL and Y&R. Please don't let it just disappear.

If they hear from enough of GL fans, they may find a new home for GL. Don't give up.

what a crock. that is so wrong to take this show off the air. just when the exconomy hits a rut they have to cancel instead of trying to make it work. give up that is what cbs is proving to people what a shame. they should keep guiding light going. they want to take s soap off the air then take bold and beautiful off. keep the light.

I cannot believe this story!!! I have watched this show since I was a very little girl with both of my Grandmothers when I went to stay with them and also when I was home in the summers and home sick. I am still watching the show and I really am going to miss it. I can't believe they are cancelling the show. I wonder what they will replace it with, talk shows (we already have way too many of them). I am going to miss Reva and Josh and all of the Spaulding and Bauers and all of the other characters. I really hope another network picks them up, even the Soap Network or some network so we can still keep up with all of the stories.

as reva and hawk would say.."this is the biggest load of hogwash I've ever seen"!Watching soaps is a family tradition. If anyone knows of a way to keep them right where they are please speak up. it wasn't to many years ago that Y&R was at the bottom of the list. if we let gl go whose to say next year its not another soap. And what other stupid talk show are they going to put in its spot??We have to many now.Not only is the economy shot now we won't have soaps to turn too to get away! I vote boycott CBS-except soap time-and that is the only channel rabit ears can get for over 50 years. Good Day CBS!

g/l producers put more real life problems on these shows. You will be surprized with the ratings. Watch some programs from the past and get some ideas how many people you can bed turning your sexual preferences around is not the way. Let me give you some pointers. Andy Griffith, Leave it to beaver, etc. Put some real life issues on here that are realistic. I used to think atwt was the most realistic program on the soaps what happened. The b/b is disgusting one man marrying all the sisters in one family when will erik marry the baby of the logan family and how many children have to come out of this. I hate that program because of this. Who can relate to spoiled rich people who think they can get away with anything. I probably speak not only for myself but other viewers we are just middle class people who are given sometimes ideas that can mess our lives up. Make them them feel less that they are. When what they do have in there lives are real.

I am not surprised. It was just a matter of time. The writers have been tripping for a while now. I use to love watching GL, but, after they change writers everything went down hill. The viewers have been complaining for a long time, but, no one listen to us. I hope they can place those good actors on other soaps. That would be a lost of good of talent to let them go. Another soap needs to be cancelled is Bold and the Beautiful. Too much incest! G L story lines did not make any sense. Good luck Guys!
