Guiding Light - NEWS ROOM

Fans of Blake have been happy that they've been getting to see more of the character lately. Whether she's attempting to seduce Coop or deal with her daughter Clarissa, the unfortunately languishing character has been receiving some much deserved air time. The actress who plays her, Elizabeth Keifer, will soon be seen in a new role. Keifer, best known as Guiding Light's most vivacious and often trouble making red head, has taken on the role of Judy Lyons in the film The Clique. The film, produced by Warner Premiere Productions, follows a group of five girls, called the Pretty Committee, as they deal with what it means to be popular at a private all-girls school. It is based on the best-selling series of novels by Lisi Harrison and has already been getting a lot of advanced buzz. Shooting began in February and wrapped in late March of this year. You should expect to see it hit DVD shelves on November the 11th, 2008.

Keifer took over the role of Blake in August of 1992. She was already a seasoned soap vet by that time, having played roles on The Young and the Restless, One Life to Live, Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. In addition to parts on daytime, she also made notable appearances on shows like Happy Days, 21 Jump Street and Law & Order.
