Guiding Light Gets Another Reva

Reva meets "Reva" (Soaps.com)
Another Reva? Is that really necessary for a woman with so many multiple identities, a woman who was once cloned? But Reva has received a very different kind of clone this time around. After some jokes last week about Dolly the clone, Reva Shayne's conniving father, Hawk, returned to Springfield right on cue. He brought yet another of his peculiar schemes along with him. No, he's not going to clone his daughter, but he is helping to produce another version of her: He sold her story to a movie company to bring it to the silver screen.

Kristen Connolly as "Jolene" (Soaps.com)
With this new version of Reva hovering in the ether, the people from the fantasy factories of the film industries are already arriving in town. Most notably, Jolene, the actress cast as Reva. We've actually caught glimpses of the character for some time as she's popped up in the background or sitting quietly in meetings of Reva's cancer support group. Although initially reluctant to get involved with this new adventure, will the troubled Josh once again be tempted by a younger version of the woman who was formerly the love of his life, or will thoughts of that past be a little too much to stomach? Will seeing someone else turn into her, living her own legend right before her eyes, change Reva for the better or the worse?

The young actress playing the actress playing Reva is Kristen Connolly, a recent graduate from the Yale School of Drama. She's spent the past several years on stage doing classical roles and even a little singing. Viewers may have caught her in her brief appearances in the films Mona Lisa Smile, The Bronx Is Burning and Far From Thailand or in a recent episode of the show New Amsterdam. Currently, she's doing a terrific job as the flaky indie actress, so who knows? Maybe like the Reva clone, Bethany Joy Lenz, she'll actually come back as a whole new character.
