The family set the table. The toilet clogs. Marina and Mallet bicker and Frank teases her, suggesting that she would never get married without them around. She insists that she has a private life that doesn't include them. Rick arrives. Marina's startled that he didn't bring anything. Moments later, she discovers that Daisy has thrown away the dinner rolls because they are all hard as rocks. Coop asks for snacks. The cheese is moldy. Buzz arrives and tells her that everyone looks happy. "That's because they think food is coming," she says.
Reva gets checked over by Rick. She lets Josh look at the ultrasound. Rick leaves to look through the tests and Reva jokes with Josh until Jeffrey arrives with flowers. Josh forces a smile while he watches them hug. Jeffrey gives her a toy dinosaur and she shows him the latest picture of their child. Josh backs out the door while they cuddle and giggle. Rick returns and tells them that nothing unexpected came up about the baby. When he walks out to ready the release papers, Jeffrey follows him. He asks him why he is being so vague. "She needs to see an oncologist," Rick says. Jeffrey returns to his wife. He tells her that the baby is fine but... "That's all that matters," she says, walking out. He sighs.
Dinah meets with Rick at Company, desperate for a way to help her brother. He promises that they are doing everything they can. She asks them to try harder. "Bill doesn't like to sleep too much," she says. He advises her to sit with him, pray and talk to him. She doubts her prayers count for much now. When Dinah walks out, she bumps into Marina. She asks after Bill but Dinah just walks off. Buzz comes out. "She's worried about her brother... but I still want to kill her... I'm going to Hell," she says. "Hell? You need a sandwich to go?" Buzz asks. She follows him into the kitchen and complains about Mallet, wishing he would understand how much Dinah bothers her. After telling him that she doesn't want to eat, she pours half a bottle of ketchup on a plate of fries and continues to complain. Buzz suggests that Mallet may not be ready for a relationship. She claims otherwise, sure that he has a good heart and has been good to her like no other man she's had. She thanks him for all of his kind words and walks out.
At Cedars, Rick asks Lizzie to get some ice cream with him, just like they used to when Phillip was gone on business trips. She cries. He promises that Bill will be fine. After they walk out, Grady walks in. "Hey buddy! You don't look very comfortable," he says, picking up a pillow.
Lizzie walks down to the water and begins to cry. After a few moments, she walks away and goes back inside the hospital. As she sits, Marina arrives to check in on her. She has to get a statement from her about the kidnapping. Before Lizzie can say anything, her family rushes in. They ask her about the accident. She sadly stares at Billy. They share a long silence before she explains that Bill is in surgery. She anxiously tells them what happened and says that Bill loves her and saved her. When Billy asks her how bad his son's injuries are, she hugs him. Marina begins her questioning. Lizzie never saw her kidnapper's face. Alan worries about her. Lizzie explains that the kidnapper seemed to feel bad and trapped; he didn't even leave her when he could have. Marina has enough and leaves. Alan tells Lizzie that Bill thought she double-crossed him, went ahead to make a deal with Decker and doubted the ransom note. Lizzie insists that he loves her and things are working out the way she wants. Rick comes out and asks everyone to sit down while he explains things. He says that Bill's internal injuries are extensive and the recovery will be very long. Alan wants to take Lizzie home to rest, Beth knows that she wants to stay so takes her off to get something to eat. Meanwhile, Rick asks Billy if his son was drinking. Billy admits that he was. Alan overhears this and starts to blame Bill for everything. Lizzie returns and gets in the middle of it and explains that this isn't Bill's fault; she damaged part of the steering wheel, she claims.
Beth returns to Alan. He suggests that she talk to Lizzie and warn her about Bill. He's sure that Bill is more committed to her in a coma than he can be when he's awake. Beth admits that she has problems with him too, but he risked his life to save Lizzie. She encourages him to have faith. Alan used to have faith, but that was because he had a brain tumor, he says. Beth tells him that he needs to stay out of this. Bill is wheeled by on the way to surgery. They all follow him in. Rick asks them all to leave. Rick reminds Lizzie that Bill is strong and lets her have a minute alone with him. She sobs and begs him to wake up. As she promises to wait for him, Alan listens at the door and grimaces.
Rick comes out and tells Natalia that Olivia is very lucky that they managed to stabilize her. She goes in to see her and says a prayer. Olivia wakes up. Natalia explains what happened and tells her that she will take the job as her assistant, but she's only doing it for herself and Rafe. Rick walks in. He explains that she is on some amino suppressants right now but she will need a pacemaker to regulate her heartbeat. She thanks him. He walks out. Olivia tells Natalia not to feel sorry for her and dumps her work schedule on her. Rick returns and explains the operation. Olivia sends him off and orders Natalia to stop being so worried about her job. She lists all of the things that she's done and how strong she is. "You're a freaking super hero Natalia so how can you be afraid of running a staff meeting?" she asks.
Olivia is on the phone with Decker talking about how exciting her new job is. After she gets off the phone, Rick arrives. He tells her that she is the worst patient he's ever had and she should be in a hospital bed right now. She tells him to stop being melodramatic. She doesn't want anyone to know that she is sick; it makes them act nice and condescending. She has things she has to sort out right now. He thinks that she needs someone, like Natalia, to look after her. She promises to come to the hospital soon and closes the door on him. When she sits on her bed, Emma comes and sits on her lap. She shows her a drawing of her as the new face of Galaxy. She wants to be 'a business mongel' just like her mother. Olivia tells her it's a 'mogul' and, even if she is away on business, she will be thinking of her.
Rick corners Natalia outside to talk to her about Olivia, hoping that she can help readjust her priorities. Nat offers to see what she can do. She goes inside and lays into Olivia, accusing her of playing around and telling her to 'go ahead and die already'. Olivia follows her outside and asks her if they're friends. Natalia isn't convinced and she doesn't like her jokes. Olivia repeats that she will go to Cedars after she takes care of some things. She needs someone to represent her interests at The Beacon and asks Natalia to help her. Natalia has some conditions for her: Olivia has to check herself in immediately. Then she worries about how the staff will react to her new position. Olivia tells her to grow a backbone. As she rants at her for never taking risks, she begins to gasp and collapses.
At Cedars, Rick tells Olivia and Natalia that the tests they've been getting may indicate that her body is rejecting the heart. He tells her that they need to treat this aggressively but it may only be a one-time problem. Natalia worries. Rick admits that this could keep happening and, at worst, Olivia may need another heart. After he leaves, Natalia offers to stay and help. Olivia sends her away.
