Alan tells Natalia that she should be in charge of the service; she's the widow after all. "Gosh, thanks for reminding me," she says, walking away from him. Meanwhile, Lizzie thanks Bill for coming to the funeral with her. Ava arrives and Lizzie starts taunting her. Ava says that she feels bad for Rafe and pointedly comments that she doesn't think any child should go without a father. Elsewhere, Harley finds her daughter watching Natalia and Rafe from a distance. "You hold onto me and I'll hold onto you," Harley offers as Daisy rests her head on her shoulder.
Natalia paces around Cedars. Rafe arrives and asks her how much longer things will take. She still can't figure out why she is waiting to see what happens to Olivia. "She doesn't care about me and we don't get along," she says. He reminds her it's Gus' heart after all. "He's gone," she says, taking her son's arm and walking out.
Natalia and Rafe go to Company. Rafe asks Buzz what Olivia was really like. Buzz doesn't follow. Natalia explains that Gus' heart went to Olivia. After a pause, Buzz says that Olivia's body is a worthy place for Gus' heart. "Olivia Spencer? Is there nothing that woman won't take?" Alan shouts as he walks in. He tells Natalia how sorry he is, but he wishes she'd called him so that he could have said goodbye to his son. He's sure that she's a victim in this; Olivia took Gus' heart and Harley will play the widow. The same women that destroyed Phillip. "I'm sorry that you lost your son Alan. Please don't mess with mine," she says. After she leaves, he goes back up to his room and lays in bed with a picture of his son.
Harley and Natalia sit at Gus' bedside. "What I really want is a cigarette and a hamburger and a beer and a baseball game," he thinks to himself. Meanwhile, Zach and Jude play baseball in the park while Rafe tries to fix his mother's car. Gus wishes that he'd known his son sooner, and longer, but he'll always love him. Thinking of the chaos at the police station, he realizes how he will miss that as well; he'll even miss Mallet. He will miss Olivia too and, if he'd gotten to know her sooner, maybe they could have been more than friends. He thinks of the house he never finished and hopes that, maybe, Cyrus can finish it...or he'll have to come back to haunt him. And he'll miss Buzz and his daughter and his burgers and his corny jokes... As he slips away, Rick turns to Natalia to tell her how sorry he is. Crying, she kisses Gus goodbye and then calls Harley over. She slowly approaches and kisses him, repeating his name. Natalia goes to meet her son and break the news to him. She doesn't have to say anything. They embrace.
In the corridor, Rafe brings Alan some water. As he starts to walk away, Alan tearfully pulls him into his arms. "You're all I have left," Alan cries. Rafe leaves to return to his mom and Alan slouches over. Later, Daisy arrives to see Rafe. He tells her that he was supposed to be with his father and, if he had been, maybe he could have prevented this. She tells him not to blame himself. He quietly tells her he'll call her and walks away.
At Cedars, Jeffrey continues telling Olivia that he needs her to stay around. He can't look after Ava and Emma on his own. She loses consciousness as the doctor comes in to say that they have a heart for her. Moments later, Jeffrey and Ava stare at Natalia and Rafe as Gus is wheeled down the hall and set beside Olivia in the operating room.
Daisy and Rafe excitedly walk down the street. She's happy that their fake ID selling scheme is going so well. Cyrus catches them at it and puts a stop to it. He then goes to meet with Harley and suggests that he leave her alone for awhile so that she can get things back on track. She says no and insists that they need to get the Vanessa account. She changes for dinner and tells him that they will figure everything out. Changing plans, she goes up to bed and he makes a call to Vanessa, changing his voice to utter a few threats. Meanwhile, Daisy and Rafe try to sort out a new plan and go back to their fake ID selling.
When they go outside, Rafe finds them. They explain that Gus has bought them the house but Rafe is still annoyed about the Olivia problem. He walks away and Gus follows him, insisting to his son that he is not trying to buy Natalia off and he has nothing to feel guilty for in his relationship with Olivia. Rafe points out that a house won't make them a family. Gus says that they can fake it until they're good at it. Rafe has other plans; he still wants to move in with Daisy. Gus begs him not to. He was a screw up when he was his age, he explains, and he hoped he would be a better man than he is. They return to Natalia and Gus promises to come back later.
Natalia shows Rafe around their new house and they can't stop giggling excitedly. Meanwhile, Gus wanders around the town, watching children in a schoolyard and chatting with Doris on a bench. He has a plaque put in the park to mark it as the "Olivia Spencer Memorial Park."
Gus runs into his son at Company and finds out that he got a traffic ticket. Rafe is defensive when his father tells him that Natalia needs him around to look after her. They begin talking about Gus looking after Alan's upcoming court case. Gus rushes off and meets with Natalia, telling her that he has no interest in running away with Olivia; it's just that he's discovered she only has two weeks to live. They go to the park and she tells him how disappointed she is in the way he's been acting. He hasn't been acting like this is a "life and death situation". Things haven't been passionate between them like it was with Harley. Frustrated, she walks away.
