Natalia is laying down in her room when Frank and Buzz come to the door to ask her to the party. She's not comfortable going, but they insists that she'll have things to do and it will all be fine. Buzz leaves them alone and Frank starts to fix her closet door. She still hasn't unpacked. He tells her it will take time, but she should be around people now. They start to chat and she wonders why he doesn't just stay at the boarding house with everyone else.
Natalia gets dressed and goes downstairs to the party. It's remarkably quiet. She looks over at the photo of Gus and feels uncomfortable. Marina wanders outside and sees Cyrus sitting alone. Franks spots the former couple through the window and has to be stopped from running out after his daughter. Marina sits by Cyrus, telling him that she still cares about him and saying that she saw this coming; he's not the sort of man to get involved with a woman who has a mortgage and kids. He stops her and tells her that he and Harley haven't broken up. She begins to mumble and spills her beer all over her dress. Mallet comes out and pushes Cyrus back, telling him to leave Marina alone. "I didn't do anything," the Australian smiles. Mallet takes Marina up to Natalia's room to change her clothes. Her zipper is stuck so she asks for his help. They compare who is worse: Dinah or Cyrus? They both know how awful they are. She pushes him and then leaps into his arms for a kiss.
Natalia sits at the bar and talks to Blake. She admits that it has been difficult listening to everyone trying to be so helpful since Gus died. Blake knows how she feels; she had the same problem when her husband died. She encourages her to start dating again, even on the computer like she does. Natalia thinks it's a little early for that. Coop and Frank walk over and Blake talks business with him. Frank worries about what kind of advice Blake might be giving Natalia.
Daisy stumbles into Company drunk. She asks Buzz not to tell all the cops who are still milling around. He tells her to eat something and they'll talk later. Frank walks in looking for his daughter and Natalia explains that Marina just went upstairs to change after spilling something on her dress. When she goes looking for her, she finds her and Mallet making out on the couch. Marina begs her not to tell Frank. Natalia backs out and finds Frank in the hall. She tells him that Marina's not there. She takes him outside. "Do you think I'll ever stop being an overprotective dad?" he asks. She says that she's learning to actually talk with her child rather than just to him. She thanks him for everything he's done today and they smile. Meanwhile, Mallet offers Marina a ride home but she wants to stay behind. "To be continued?" he asks. "To be continued," she says.
At home, Lizzie tries picking out a tie for Bill. She can't wait for the whole company merger to be settled. He slowly tells her that he will do what he has to do. Natalia stops by and Lizzie asks how Rafe is doing. Natalia hopes that the young couple get everything they want. "We already have it," Lizzie smiles to Bill as they head out the door. As Lizzie and Bill drive over to the meeting, she suggests that they offer Natalia and Rafe a position in the company. He shrugs and tells her to go shopping; they'll have a family to-do afterwards. She goes down by the water to see the ducks. Remy appears, throwing a rock and scaring them off. He tells Lizzie that he almost feels guilty for taking money to get Ava away from Bill. He actually enjoys being around her. She tells him he should go for it then; he's smart, fun and good looking. If he had a respectable job, he'd be a catch.
At Company, Rafe helps his grandfather out on his laptop. He's impressed that he seems ready to get back to work. "I'm ready to break the door down," Alan smiles. He goes over to the park and runs into Dinah. "You look like you're ready to huff and puff and blow the house down," she smirks. "Only if you're in it," he shoots back, warning her that she is about to make a fool of herself in front of some important people. Meanwhile, Rafe asks his mother why they are still in Springfield after Gus is gone and he's broken up with Daisy. She takes him over to Cedars for a checkup. He tells her that he misses Chicago. Remy walks by, looking for Ava. Lillian explains that she was there earlier to see Olivia. Hearing this, Natalia starts to worry but Lillian insists that Olivia will be okay.
Natalia checks in on Olivia. "Did you bring fresh towels?" she jokes. She assures Natalia that she's "taking care of him". Out in the corridor, Lillian is laughing with Alan when Rafe walks over. Alan tells his grandson that he's been having a busy day and he thought a visit with him would cheer him up. Rafe smiles. They joke around until Natalia returns. Alan tells her that she's raised a smart young man. She comments that he seems to be doing better and tells him to hold onto what he has instead of trying to get back what he's lost. He invites them over to Company and promises to cook them lunch. As they walk off, he goes in to check on Olivia. She tells Alan that everything sucks. She wishes she could be cheery for her daughters but, most of the time, she just wants to die. He knows the feeling; sometimes things are too much to take. He's not going to tell her any cheerful parables, which is good because she's got enough of those from everyone else, but once upon a time they both thought that they could rule the world... he still wants that. "Why?" she asks. He holds her hand for a moment and then walks out. He goes over to Company and starts to cook for Rafe and Natalia. She turns to her son and tells him they are staying in town because they have family there: Alan, Zach and Jude are all they have left of Gus.
Harley packs up more things of Gus' for the basement and then goes upstairs. Natalia arrives and Harley explains that she's signed Rafe up for a college prep course. Natalia reminds her that she's having money problems and doesn't need to do this. Harley takes her to the basement and starts showing her through the boxes of Gus' stuff. Natalia offers her the jacket of Gus' that he left behind and suggests that Cyrus might like it. "Cyrus isn't living here now," Harley says sadly. Natalia suggests that she keep more of Gus' things. When he left her, all those years ago, he left a lot behind too.
At Cross Creek, Natalia reminds Olivia that Jeffrey is with Reva and grabbing a man won't fix anything. Olivia laughs. Natalia points out that people actually care about her. Olivia tells her to take the box as she leaves. Natalia goes to Company and has coffee with Frank. She thanks him for everything he's done, but she doesn't want to be a charity case. He tells her that she's been a help to him as well. Natalia knows they've all been having a hard time and wonders if Frank blames her for the upset she caused his family by coming to town. Frank tells her that life is short and he just wants to make her some "Frank burgers".
Natalia accidentally runs into Daisy with her laundry cart. Daisy asks her how Rafe is doing. "He's not doing so good," Natalia says. Daisy insists that she wasn't all bad for Rafe; they had good plans. Natalia laughs. Gus said the same thing to her father when they were in high school. As she gets in the elevator, she runs into Dinah who tells her how sorry she is about what happened to Gus. Natalia goes home to Rafe and gives him an ice pack for his broken hand. She tells him he needs to find something to do, like going to see Daisy. He's baffled by this suggestion. She wants to learn to trust the man she's raised, she explains.
