At the boarding house, Natalia tries getting in touch with her son without luck. Mallet soon appears and informs her about what's happening. She's distraught and can't understand what's going on. She begs him to bring her boy back safely and then collapses on the floor.
One of the cops comes to the boarding house to search for Rafe. Harley covers for the boy and sends the cop away. Once he's gone, Harley and Cyrus bring Rafe upstairs to Natalia. The boy goes in with his mother alone. She hugs him and wonders if they should got to Alan for help. She's sure they can convince everyone that he's a good boy and this was just a mistake.
In the hallway, Cyrus tells Natalia that he's sorry. That's all anyone ever say to her anymore: "I'm sorry." She wonders how she can protect her son. She goes back to her room to talk to him. He hopes that things will get better and she can be happy again. "I will never give up on you," she says. "Maybe you should," he suggests. She offers to get him something to eat and he tells her he'll take his meds. As soon as she walks out, he finishes packing. When she returns, he's gone. She finds his stuff gone and a note that says "I love you" on the bathroom mirror. She begins to cry.
Spotting Natalia's car, Jeffrey goes into the church. He finds her lighting candles. Rafe runs in and tells her he needs to talk to her. He shows her the money he found and explains how he got it. "This is more than a dream: This is real. Gus can't be completely gone if he can do something like this!" he says. She doesn't even know what to say.
In her room, Olivia hands Natalia the deed to Gus' house. Natalia hands it back; she couldn't even afford the mortgage. Olivia says that she's paid it down and jokes that she's a saint now. She tells her to take it. Natalia refuses charity and walks out. As soon as she's gone, Harley walks in with flowers. Olivia is a bit startled by this. They sit down and talk about money. Olivia tells her that Gus never gave her any money; she's never had financial problems. Harley keeps talking about Gus and his money, which makes Olivia uncomfortable. She tells Harley that it's her heart now, not Gus', and she can't be the person everyone goes to when they need him. If she wants to talk to Gus, she can try talking to Alan about his dreams. Harley smiles and sits in silence. Olivia asks her to take the flowers with her when she leaves.
Alan goes to see Natalia to talk about the money. He assures her that his dreams are real and asks her if she is going to talk her son out of joining the Marines. Rafe never mentioned anything like that to her. He tells her to talk him out of it. She assumes he just wants him to work for him one day, but it sounds like he's making a mature decision to follow in his father' footsteps and she's proud of him.
Harley goes to Olivia's room and walks in. "Gus was taking bribes to move you up the transplant list," she confronts her with, laying out the evidence. Olivia is shocked. Harley is shocked that she is shocked. "He really stepped up for you," Harley points out. Olivia walks out and runs into Natalia down the hall. She starts sniping at her but Natalia still offers to help her. Olivia offers to sell her the house for the money that Gus left. "Yes," Natalia finally agrees, looking away. Olivia admits that Gus' heart could be for more than just pumping blood. When she does something wrong, she feels like Gus knows. "Having this gift makes me want to share it," she admits. Natalia puts her arm around her. They both miss him. Her phone starts ringing. It's Alan searching for Rafe, worried that they better find him quick.
On Main Street, Frank and Natalia happily bicker about who should pay for Rafe's baseball glove. She thanks him for his help and tells him Gus is smiling at him for helping her out. Olivia calls and tells Natalia that Emma is at a friend's house. She trails off and the phone goes dead. Natalia doesn't know what to make of it. She and Frank walk over to Company and see that part of the roof has collapsed. Frank tries to call his father without luck. He hopes that no one was hurt. She's upset by this and by the strange call that she got from Olivia. Frank tries to assure her that Olivia is just depressed and if she's worried, she should just call her back.
Natalia goes over to The Beacon to check on Olivia. When she walks into her room, she finds her sitting on the bathroom floor with her pills spilled everywhere. Natalia assumes she was trying to overdose and starts walking her around the room, threatening to have her stomach pumped. She starts to rant at her for being selfish and reminds her that her daughters need her to live. Olivia insists that she is only sleepy, not suicidal. She orders Natalia to get out, but she won't go without taking the rest of the pills with her. "You're going to stay alive whether you like it or not," she says. Olivia doesn't want a nanny or a nurse or a Natalia. A disoriented Alan suddenly walks in. "Remember in The Wizard of Oz when the house fell on the witch..." he starts, explaining that part of the roof at Company almost killed him. It wasn't luck that saved him, but what it was goes against everything he's ever thought. They're the only two people he can tell this to and he needs them to convince him he's not crazy. While the roof fell, he felt a hand pull on his legs that pulled him out of the way. "Gus?" Natalia asks. This is crazy to Olivia but Alan says that Gus touched his shoulder and talked to him, assuring him that everything was alright. Olivia doubts he would come back to talk to Alan when they rarely had a civil word while he was alive. Alan thinks he has unfinished business but Olivia insists that the last piece of Gus is in her and orders him to get out. After he walks out, Olivia orders Natalia out with a scream. Alone, she stifles her tears.
Alan returns to his room as the phone rings. He looks down at his photo of Gus before taking a walk. He goes to the church but stays outside. Inside the church, Natalia lights a candle and says a prayer.
