Pit Stop.

Wednesday, October 22 2008

Reva sits at Cross Creek with her bear when Jeffery arrives. He asks her how the interview went. She doesn't want to talk about it. They talk about his day at work and that he called backup. She jokes about living off of his death benefits and then suggests he take her along as his backup next time.

Josh Comes Back.

Tuesday, October 21 2008

Josh shows up on Reva's doorstep. She was expecting Jeffrey but awkwardly lets him in. He tells her that Shayne is looking great. Spotting children's things around the room, he wonders if she is on a trip down memory lane. She just wants to talk about Shayne. Josh tells her that he is done in Afghanistan and back in Bosnia. He asks for a beer. She jokingly offers him some sacred wine. He laughs and reminds her that he is leaving the ministry. Being in Afghanistan gave him the time to think about what he wants to be. He's realized that being a minister isn't who he is. He wonders if he should have come back after making a fool of himself at the wedding, but he's glad to see that she's happy and 'glowing'. "I'm meant to be an old married lady," she smiles. He tells her she'll never be old and asks her about her health. Taking him by the hand, she walks him outside. He's been worried about her cancer the entire time he was away and needs an answer. "It's not cancer," she says. He hugs her. Slowly, she tells him that is pregnant and bursts out laughing. He can barely take it in. She explains how it happened and what a miracle it is. He agrees that it is a miracle and hugs her. Jeffrey interrupts. Josh congratulates him and leaves. Reva is relieved and tells Jeffrey that Josh is okay with everything. When they walk inside, he explains that he got a special job working for Alan. She's confused. He explains that Lizzie was kidnapped and he feels good working like this again. When she sees his gun, she freaks out and tells him that he can't have that in the house. She complains about her feet so he sits her down and massages them. As they laugh on the couch, Josh walks back to the door but quickly veers out when he sees them together.

The Oldest Mommy on the Playground.

Monday, October 20 2008

Frank calls Jeffrey about the kidnapping. Jeffrey can't do anything until it is reported. Reva needs a distraction and asks for details. She urges him to get involved. He offers to do that, assuming that she must imagine Jonathan could be involved. He leaves, promising to bring back pancakes and sauerkraut.

While Reva is working out at the gym, a woman approaches her and explains that she will be her trainer. Afterwards, she goes to her doctor's appointment. A woman in the waiting room begins asking her how she got pregnant and what treatments she might have used. Reva is not amused.

Cyrus wanders into Company when Frank spots him. They bicker and Frank brings up all of the problems Cyrus has caused. Cyrus urges him to move on. Frank admits that Cyrus did Marina a favor – because of him, she ended up with Mallet. After Frank walks off, Ashlee sits down with Cyrus. She tells him that Grady dumped Daisy and hooked up with Dinah. He says it's just a job. She thinks that Grady is 'plugging Dinah's leaks' and says that she saw Dinah making out with him. She walks out as Reva walks in. When she sits down, she orders some uncharacteristic food. Buzz asks her what's going on. She complains about being 'the oldest mommy on the playground' and how everyone keeps asking her if she is part of some scientific experiment. It doesn't feel like she's blessed anymore; she just feels like a freak. He teases her until she begins loudly declaring to everyone that she is pregnant.

Reva returns home and rehearses telling her children about being pregnant. When she hears a car pull up, she runs over and is surprised to find Josh in the doorway.

A Life of My Own.

Monday, October 13 2008

At Cross Creek, Jeffrey encourages Reva to get off of her feet. She threatens to show him what she can do off her feet. He has to work. She wonders what happened to their never-ending honeymoon. He tells her to take care of herself and her baby and leaves for work. Later, she calls Jeffrey and tries to get him to return. Annoyed, he returns and finds her laying around the house. When she tries to pull him into bed, he reminds her that he has to be at work. After a long kiss, he leaves again.

Reva goes over to Towers. She tells the bartender that she used to dance on the bar in the middle of the day. Time goes by. She rambles to the bartender and even answers the phone while he's busy. When Alex calls to make a reservation, she tells her that they're booked solid and hangs up. Jeffrey calls her while she sits on the bar. She tells him she's bored and has spent all day on their scrapbook. She gets a surprise when Jeffrey suddenly taps her on the shoulder and catches her out. He jumps up on the bar with her and asks her to dance on the table. She cries. He tells her she can dance and he'll dance with her so she doesn't fall. "We're not going to change who we are just because we're having a baby. We're just going to play a little safer," he says. She cries more. Everyone stares at them. He tries to calm her. "I need to have a life of my own," she says, maybe even a job...

End of the Honeymoon.

Monday, October 06 2008

Reva and Jeffrey are lost. They have no idea where they are. He decides that they will just go the direction the car is pointed until they find something they like. She's hungry. He reminds her that she is eating for two. When they get in the car, it won't start. As he tries to fix the engine, she notices that they are actually out of gas. He can't believe that he lost his cell phone. She explains that she took it and mailed it to him at home. She didn't want him to spend their honeymoon on the phone so she got rid of it. He's not sure if he should be mad or grateful. He leaves to find a gas station. She does the crossword and listens to the radio before taking a chair out of the trunk and sitting by the road to get some sun. She tries waving down cars as they go by without luck. Soon, some bikers drive up and stop. They crowd around her but stay silent. She babbles until Jeffrey returns. He tells her that he met them on the way to get gas and sent them to keep an eye on her. They smile. He called for his messages and says that they need to get back to town to deal with Natalia and Josh and other problems. After the biker's leave, Reva wishes she'd invited them to the cookout that she wanted to have. She and Jeffrey kiss, laugh and drive off. When they get back to Cross Creek, she can smell smoke. Imagining that the barn is on fire, she runs off and discovers the two bikers are waiting for them and have already started the barbecue.

September in Kabul.

Thursday, September 18 2008

At Cross Creek, Reva talks to Josh through her computer. He informs her that Shayne has gone missing. He explains that they were supposed to meet in Kabul but his messages stopped. Josh went to his camp to find him and discovered that he left and hasn't been heard from. He's already gone to the embassy and hired people to find him. Reva worries that her son is in a war zone. His video feed dies. Jeffrey walks in, announcing that they can't go anywhere because of a problem with Ava. She says that's alright: They can't go anyway because Shayne has gone missing. He tells her to sit down. She wants to get on a plane. She's just not sure what to pack for September in Kabul. His mouth hangs open; he can't believe she's saying this. He tells her that she's crazy to think she can go. She rants and worries. He calms her down and repeats that this is crazy. He knows she's worried but putting their baby at risk won't help Shayne. She's livid that he thinks she should stay there. Jeffrey says that her in a desert would not help anyone. This is her pattern, it's like she's going back to her old, impulsive, selfish, impractical self. If she went over there, it wouldn't be about Shayne, it would just be about her trying to avoid her new responsibilities. She annoyed and walks out.
