Old and Ornery.

Wednesday, November 26 2008

Mallet finds Marina sitting on the porch. She's not thrilled that they are holding Thanksgiving for the 'stragglers'. He begs her to come inside and help him cook. She brushes him off. He imagines she's angry because he's publicly told her that he loves her twice. Once with a gun pointed at him and the second time while drunk on ouzo. She tells him he can prove he loves her by not lighting the house on fire. They hear something blow up and rush inside. Rushing in, they find Frank and Coop arguing about cornmeal. Marina begins taking over. They're all surprised that the turkey she bought is so small. Coop thanks Daisy for not bringing Grady. Frank echoes the sentiment. Annoyed, she threatens to call him.

Buying the Cow.

Monday, November 24 2008

Marina takes some files out of her bag when she notices a poker chip. She smiles and goes inside, cornering Frank while he raids her fridge. She begins telling him about her trip to the casino when Mallet runs in and stops her. They try to cover and Marina begins rambling about marriage. Mallet laughs uncomfortably and changes the subject. They discuss Thanksgiving. Frank explains that Company will be open to people who have nowhere else to go. They agree to help out and send Frank off to work with a muffin and some bananas. As soon as he's gone, Mallet tells her that he's afraid she almost told her dad that they eloped. She thinks he's a 'wuss' and walks out. On the lawn, they flip a coin to determine if she can tease him forever. She notices that it is heads on both sides. She wishes that he could be more honest about his feelings. He points out that she has yet to tell him that she loves him in public. She teases him. He kisses her.

Mallet arrives at Company and Frank throws him a potato so he can start peeling. Mallet refuses to wear an apron. Buzz walks in, announcing he needs a drink. He begins pouring and they toast to true love. They get drunk as they cook. Frank tells Mallet he thought he was the guy for his daughter, but it turns out that he's 'not the sharpest tool in the shed'. Mallet defends himself but Frank doubts he 'wants the cow if he's getting the milk for free'. Buzz begins screaming about true love. Mallet stands on the table and begins screaming that he loves Marina and they tried to elope. Marina stands in the doorway. "Oh Mallet..." she groans before noticing that the meal is on fire. After they put the fire out, Marina asks for an explanation. Mallet admits to Frank that he was 'going to buy the cow'. Frank hugs him. Mallet tells Frank he can be his best man and Buzz can be the matron of honor. As Marina teases him, he limps into the bathroom to be sick.

At the station, Frank shows Lizzie and Alan the surveillance footage. It's impossible to clearly make out a face. It doesn't prove anything, Lizzie insists. As Alan tells Frank this is waste of time, Lizzie stares at the video. She begins begging Frank to stop the investigation. Alan takes her aside and asks her if she saw something. She claims there is nothing to see and barks at Frank to stop this before he ends up looking like a fool. After she storms off, Alan tells Frank that he should move on and stop investigating Bill. Frank is defensive. They bicker about how they handle their families. Alan offers to let him bring his men over to the mansion to comb for new evidence.

Lizzie returns to the mansion and searches Bill's room. Although she tells herself that Bill must be innocent, she can't shake a strange feeling. Looking under the bed, she finds the jacket. She gasps and tells herself that it doesn't prove anything. Running outside, she douses the jacket in lighter fluid. Before she can light it up, Alan and Frank stop her. As she makes excuses, Alan defends her. Frank takes the jacket, announcing that he now has enough evidence for the grand jury. As he walks off, Alan holds her back. She cries in his arms.

It's not a Scam, it's a Marriage.

Tuesday, November 18 2008

Alan is ranting at Frank for the fact that it took so long to get the surveillance tape. Frank is surprised that Alan seems to be on Bill's side. "I'm on Elizabeth's side," Alan says.

At Cedars, Billy and Vanessa wake up Lizzie while she sleeps beside Bill. They tell her she should go home and promise to call if there is a change. She tells them that the cops suspect Bill was behind the kidnapping. She assures them that she doesn't believe it. Frank arrives. Vanessa and Lizzie aren't happy to see him. Billy keeps everyone calm. Frank takes Billy and Vanessa away to be questioned while Lizzie returns to Bill's side and cries. Alan peers in and watches before ducking away.

Frank takes Vanessa and Billy to Company to talk. They aren't happy but Frank insists that the evidence against Bill is substantial. Vanessa defends her son but says that he felt guilty, though only because he couldn't protect Lizzie. Frank assumes there's more. Billy ends the questioning and they walk out.
