FRANK COOPER JR.'S HISTORY
A young Frank was left alone to raise his sister. He got involved in crime to support them, but was soon set straight by Ross Marler. He turned to detective work and was lucky enough to have inherited his grandfather's diner to keep himself afloat. His compassionate nature has had a habit of placing him at a disadvantage in dealing with women. He entered into a series of failed relationships with the pariahs of the community (Mindy Lewis, Dana Jones) before being played by Alan-Michael during his seduction of Frank's arranged bride, Eleni. He bought her a house, but destroyed it when he discovered that she had married Alan-Michael to get into the country. Eventually, she ran to Frank after discovering her husband's twisted manipulations. The couple had a daughter and worked through a difficult marriage as they fought over careers and a lack of money. Finally, after rescuing her when she was abducted in Greece, he decided to become a police officer.
What followed has been years of twisted case work in which numerous members of his family were raped and abducted. Combined with the stress of trying to bring down the local mob and the devious Annie Dutton's attempts to seduce him, his marriage succumbed and Marina and Eleni left him for the coast. His daughter would return to him several years later and the rambunctious teen gave him all sorts of trouble as would his equally troublesome sister. Harley's relationship with Gus was plagued by his involvements in crime. Frank's awkward attempts to subvert their relationship strained things in the family. He became involved with Darci, a former prostitute, and while investigating the links between Spaulding and the Antimonius drug ring, was framed for corruption by Alexandra and thrown off the force. Things got more heated as Darci skipped town and a devastated Frank went after Alan with a gun at the canceled wedding of Gus and Harley. As things quieted down, he began dating Olivia Spencer, unknowing that she was involved with his father, in another doomed relationship. While this almost tore the family apart, he eventually insisted that his father go with her.

Friday, October 10 2008: You Were Right.
Frank walks in on Natalia as she checks off another day since Rafe went to prison. Later, as she works at Company, he offers to take her shift so she can have a break. It seems like her life is 'in a holding pattern' and he says that waiting around for Rafe is 'pathetic'. He knows this from first hand experience; he put his life on hold for years and just got old and boring. If she wants to take care of her son, she needs to take care of herself too, he says.
At The Beacon, Olivia's phone rings. Decker asks her to go to China. She's breathless. He tells her his plans. She's startled that he wants her to go today but agrees to go anyway. As she packs, she becomes too weak to stand. She calls Natalia and tells her that she needs her help. After she hangs up, Natalia hands her shift off to Frank and leaves. This isn't exactly what he had in mind.
Tuesday, October 07 2008: Lucky Saps.
At Harley's, the Coopers sort through all of their things as they clean up. Coop and Blake catch up. Frank remembers old times and they miss Harley. They toast to the Cooper family. Buzz remembers how they built the place together, even though it was a 'construction nightmare'. Marina quietly drinks alone on the couch.
The Boudreaus arrive and join in the drinking. Remy asks Marina if she's okay. She feels like she's being a sap about the house. He tells her that she can move in if she wants. The families soon begin playing football in the living room. Marina's tired and decides to leave. Frank drives her home. After seeing how depressed Marina was, Felecia tells Mallet that she doesn't think the place is really ready to be bought; it's too much of a fixer upper. Blake tries to convince her otherwise, but Felicia withdraws the offer. Remy and Mel thank her. Felecia apologizes to everyone and they walk out. "What now?" Buzz asks. Blake says they'll have to start over. Mel and Mallet do the dishes. She thinks the house should go to someone who really appreciates it and is sure he already has someone in mind.
Marina and Frank go to Company. He tells her about the house he lost for her mother. She thinks they're a pair of saps. All that she can think about now is having a yard and a barbecue. He says that they could live is a storage unit and still have fun. "Lucky saps," she sighs.
