He Will Always be Number two.

Tuesday, August 19 2008

Reva runs into Company to talk about catering with Buzz. She has to postpone her order. She turns and spots Josh sitting behind her. He walks over. She tells him that Jeffrey is just too committed to work right now. "More committed than he is to you?" he suggests. Changing the subject, she tells him that Billy says he's been hanging out around the construction site. He's happy that she's been asking about him and tells her that he's trying to get back a lot of things he's lost. Buzz becomes uncomfortable and makes himself scarce. They banter. She repeats that they're over. "We'll see," he smiles as he leaves.

Reva and Buzz talk about their granddaughter. He tells her that she is just as bad as she was. Then he teases her about her wedding plans and wonders why Jeffrey won't even take time off work for it. She tries to change the subject and tells him to hire Daisy. He tells her that Josh signed his divorce papers today. He thinks it's like a Greek tragedy that she isn't owning up to fate and marrying Josh when everything is pointing that way. She drags him over to Cross Creek and shows him that she and Jeffrey have monogrammed towels. He's not impressed and this gesture seems out of character. She says that's the new her and she needs everyone to get on board with this, telling him to hang some of them behind his bar to shut up the nay-sayers.

Help Wanted.

Monday, August 18 2008

Daisy takes the "help wanted" sign off of the front door of Company and applies to Buzz and Frank. They ask her what happened to her other job. She says it didn't work out but she wants to earn their trust back. Buzz tells her there aren't enough dirty dishes in the world for that. They know she's a good person, but she has incredibly bad judgment. Frank tells her that she's compromised everything for a guy who won't be there for her. She begs them not to kick her out of the family. Buzz explains that she can't be kicked out but they're disappointed and she could be going to jail. Frank tells her she can't have the job and he's going to take her to her mother. As Frank drags her to the door, Grady pops up and says that they'll have to go through him. Frank and Grady spar over who can take care of her. She gets in the middle of them before it can get violent. Grady walks away. Daisy reminds Frank that she is not her mother; she can look after herself and knows what she wants: She wants to be treated like an adult.

Cyrus goes to Company looking for his brother. Buzz tells him that Daisy has gone bonkers because of his brother. Cyrus wants to keep them apart too and insists that his brother is sorry. "Tammy is dead but it may not be too late for Daisy," Buzz says. He points out that all of the women in his family have been destroyed because of he and Grady. Cyrus calls him out for being a hypocrite. Buzz admits that he would do anything to protect his family too but... Cyrus worries that what is between Grady and Daisy is more than a crush.

I can Crush Anyone.

Marina goes to Company and begins ranting about Mallet to Buzz. He's not surprised; they've been dating for awhile so it's time for them to have a fight. She begins babbling about Mallet and the fact that they haven't even slept together until Coop sticks his head in to give her advice and Frank shows up to follow suit. The Cooper men sit around with her and give her their relationship advice. She isn't interested: It's her life. She storms off.

Chicken Little.

At Company, Natalia asks Buzz if she just misses Rafe so much she wants Alan's visions to be true. Buzz misses Jenna. She asks him if he'd want to speak to her. They begin setting up Company for the day. She wonders if Alan is crazy. He wonders if he's not.

At home, Beth calls and Alan reminds him that they need to meet with the lawyer. Buzz and Natalia arrive. She tells them that Alan is with his "followers". Beth offers Buzz beer. Natalia wonders if she thinks she's crazy. Beth ignores this and answers the phone. It's for Natalia. Alan tells her that Gus is worried that Rafe is not safe in Europe and wants him to come home. That makes sense to her but she wonders if he will be safe in Springfield. Alan has to run off and "touch some lives". When she gets off the phone, Beth tells her that Alan had visions in LA but none of it gelled. Natalia still wants to have faith in this. Neither Beth nor Buzz think she should have faith in Alan. Buzz and Natalia offer to look after Peyton while she takes Alan to his lawyer.

Family is all You've got.

Buzz is at Company when Reva comes in to butter him up. She wants him to cater her wedding. Most of the places she's checked out scream first marriage. "You mean this isn't your first marriage?" he jokes. She says Josh was perfect for the person she was and Jeffrey is perfect for the person she is. They worry about Grady. Buzz warns her about him but she giggles.

Frank arrives, still worrying about Harley. Buzz starts talking about what to serve at Reva's wedding when Cyrus walks in. Frank tries to throw him out but Buzz stops him. They walk away as Natalia walks in. She asks Frank what she missed. He offers to get her something to eat. She tells him he can talk about his parenting problems with her. He scribbles on a napkin and hands it to her. It's a coupon for a dinner date with him. He's shy. She tells him it's a good deal. She wants to ask Buzz for some more hours; she doesn't need spare time to sit around worrying about her son. Buzz wanders back and starts rambling about spare ribs before he runs off. They talk about Frank's first wife, how he fell in love with her and things became too complicated. "It's so hard letting go," she says, giving him a little kiss. He tells her that he tried to take Daisy to Harley but she was nowhere to be found. He's sure that Harley and Rafe are safe. She still worries.

Because I'm old.
