Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I think I know why I'm not enjoying Guiding Light lately. Ever since they changed the format, the men just don't seem very manly.
Bill acts like a bumbling idiot going around mumbling and talking nonsense.
All Mallet does is eat chips and donuts and mumbles. What happened to Jeffrey? No one seems in character anymore. Grady certainly isn't very manly (remember when he called the cops on Rafe)
The dialog isn't even manly.
Everyone just seems to go around talking nonsense. Where are the solid man characters that made you want to tune in every day to watch the show? Even powerful Alan has changed to a bumbling idiot.
Even though the format changed, why did everything else change with it?

The writers have taken words from Mallet and filled his mouth with donuts! He was one of my fav characters, they, the writers ruined this man for me. What else is wrong, too many dumb storylines. Grady, for one. What is he good for, absolutely,NOTHING!! Sorry, but, he is not the beginning of the GL, nor is Daisy. They could be the end of the light.Get rid of both of these two characters. I CAN'T take them anymore! Bring back Josh, Reva, Jeffrey, and all the Lewis family. Alan, needs to become the villian again. We, want grown - up, family stories. Evil deeds, blackmailing, all the good old fashioned storylines. Throw in a lot of love and sex, and I'll be a happy watcher again. HELP!!!!

I like this happy Jeffrey,for now, with Reva.But, we all know that this baby isn't goin' to happen, and she and Josh are meant to be together. but I agree that we need a manly man on this show. Someone like Dusty Donovan,on ATWT!!! Then I'll be happy.

well they also made us think nothing was going to happen to baby max. and something did. Besides it is so silly to have Reva pregnant. Thats just my thoughts

Josh and Reva do belong together!I also hated how Josh betrayed Reva while she had cancer,but he only did what the writers told him to do.I think it's time to forgive Josh,everyone forgave that rapist Jeffery.Reva married Josh's brother and Daddy,Josh only married Reva's sister,he never even wanted to marry her Mother.We all know Reva loves Josh the most and Josh loves Reva the most,they both are afraid of being hurt.Jeffery and Reva do stupid,cute things,but Josh and Reva have the chemistry that makes them HOT! AND GL needs romance and Josh and Reva ARE THE ANSWER,not Jeffery and Reva,the ratings keep going Down with them 1.4 how low can it go before CBS,P&G,and EW wake up!Get rid of Grady he is not working! We don't need actors walking around in weeds saying nothing,just give us friends and family talking and loving one another ,Good writing and stories.We have the Good ACTORS just give them some good stories,the actors are working their hearts out,Please Writers Help them!

Did the light go dim on Guiding Light?? The format is good lately, we have some great actors. . . but we need a good writing team!!!!!

Let's try and compare it to using a 25 watt bulb to luminate the Spaulding Mansion...hehe

I have been reading the board, but as long as Grady is on the show I cannot bear to watch. He makes me want to vomit. So, when I read on here that he is gone, I will turn the tube on again.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! They all do act like idiots. What they are missing is men and power. Deception, evil, back stabbing, action and drama. I believe the writers are in a writers block. Wake up or it will be over. I hope 2009 is a better year. Somedays I like the show and others are soooooo boring. The light is getting dim again HELLO!!!!!
